Essay Services / edubirdie.com any opinions? [35]

Writing companies have been hit hard financially by the advent of writing AI tools. The students would rather have the AI do the work than hire the human. That could be one of the reasons that edubirdie has been slacking off in terms of work quality and writer salary. The company is first and foremost a business that needs to show a profit. In order to do that, they have to cut corners where they can, and adjust the quality of service they provide based on their current financial capacity to pay their writers. So shoddy work means the company is cutting corners. Hire a different company or use an AI instead. Save the money when it comes to essay writing these days.

There are a lot of copycat AI writing tools out there which do not really serve a purpose. Well, the only purpose these serve are as data collectors since the students who want to use the app need to surrender personal information. You should ensure that you stick only with the traditionally accepted AI writing tools in order to get the best AI produced essay for your class. ChatGPT and Bard are being constantly adjusted and updated to become almost humanlike in writing style. These free ai writing apps are not developed with the same intent. Be careful when using these free writing apps.

Write ToolIt is best to use authenticated ai writing tools when using AI to write academic essays. Stick with ChatGPT or Bard for these purposes. Those are the top players in the field and they are the most reliable as well.

They also get past plagiarism checkers which is what students need foremost.

While using a human writer has its benefits, it also has the most risk of blackmail, which a student does not have when using an AI writing tool. The AI produced essay can easily be edited once it shows plagiarized sections in a plagiarism checker.

The human factor in research and writing is what these AI tools will not be able to replicate. The logical side of human thinking that allows one to create a unique perspective of a topic and opinion presentation cannot be programmed into an app.

For that, you need the working neurons of the human brain. Unless human consciousness can be transferred to a computer, I sincerely doubt that the writing AI tools will ever achieve what the human writers can.

I do not know why a student would use Editpad when they have notes apps in their mobile phones, computers, and tablets anyway. There is no sense in using an online app when the provided apps will work more efficiently and without the fear of malware or viruses being planted into your systems. The company expects that students will have confidence in using their programs because of the .org extension. That is supposed to make it appear more professional in nature. However, the url is now available to any company, without the need for a verification process. So do not automatically trust them.

Sitejabber used to be a legitimate platform. Like other review sites, they sold out and allowed paid advertising already when they needed to increase their income. It isn't really about helping students avoid the scams anymore. It is about allowing the written equivalent of a boxing match at their site. They have 2 opposing companies destroying each other using paid reviews and trolls. I would not take anything posted at SiteJabber seriously.

@isabella333 Did you find these companies through Yahoo or Yahoo Finance? If so, what keywords did you use that led to these sites being recommended to you? How high were these on the listing page? Would you say that fraudulent advertising is what led you to click on the link and actually hire the company? Please, tell us more about how Yahoo Finance was involved in your decision making process.

The best way to deal with them is to simply ignore them. If you show them that you are not going to play their game, then they will leave you alone eventually. It appears that you are from the UK so that helps us narrow down the ways by which we can help you. I hope you are familiar with the Skills and Post 16 Education Act 2022 which punishes the companies that do academic writing for the students. I am not from the UK so I cannot give you the specific government agencies that you can report these companies to. Perhaps @a1writer can help out by telling you which agencies to approach.

Thank you for adding these sites to the list of fraudulent websites. The students that frequent this forum will appreciate these url's very much. However, your explanation does not make much sense to the students here. The narration of your experience is very important to us and the students so that we will learn more about how these scams work. Please be more mindful of the understandability of your presentation next time. It can leave the reader confused.

When a website keeps on insisting that it is professional, unique, and first class, I begin to worry. These are the kinds of sites that do not give confidence to a student. They make way too many empty promises and rely on stock photography to make themselves seem professional and from a legitimate company. Do not be fooled by the bells and whistles of these companies. They just want your money. If you do an actual search on these, you will also find out the reality that they are not legitimately listed American companies.

Well, the company is still in existence and is still actively trying to recruit writers. That tells me that they have a regular revolving door of writers and that most writers are not on to their sketchy ways of pay out yet. Most writers tend to stay with the same company even if they have a problem collecting from them because they have no other choice. No other writing company will have them and they do not have the ability to personally promote themselves as academic writers. So they will just keep hoping that their salary will eventually get released. Do not be fooled by the website, they do academic writing so we know they hire 4th rate writers who will accept any salary that they can from any employer that will have them.

Worrying StudentYou will not get into trouble with your school since you are not planning on using the essay.

However, you may still end up with some trouble down the road as the company or writer you paid may decide to try and blackmail you, thinking that you used the essay during the academic period. Always remember that it is best not to load the bullet into the gun with these people.

They will not care if you used the essay or not. They are aiming to harass you so that you will pay them to shut up.

Ignore them when they do. It is best to not have hired anyone to write the essay for you instead. Have you given any thought to using AI for your essays? that will be a lot easier for you to edit and make your own, without the worry of potential blackmail.

@a1writer No worries. I was wondering where you wandered off to though. I can never remember that law of your country. It also appears that not all the academic writers, companies, and students are familiar with it either. I wonder why so many of them pretend that the law does not exist. Oh well, its their funeral.

The domain name is being sold under an unreasonable amount. It should not be that expensive to buy a second hand name for a company that has a problematic track record. The owners of the domain name must have left the domain name company with debt for them to try and pass this name off at such a high amount. I doubt anyone would be interested at that price.

Another bad player that was forcibly removed from the business by natural occurrence. They canceled themselves out of the business because of their bad business practices. Let us just hope that they did nor emerge again under a new business domain name.

Be advised that there is no absolutely no way bestessays.com.DND has been in business for 25 years. They made up information to make them seem more legitimate and experienced in the business than they actually are. Their writer count is a joke as well. Figures up on their website are definitely pulled out of thin air and are a figment of their imagination. They only manage to stay in business because they keep the money they refuse to refund their clients.

Weve come a long way in 4 years. From discussing SEO attacks to not even bothering about it anymore. Not everyone is concerned with an SEO attack anymore because these have become easier to prevent through correct security measures on your servers. Besides, essay writing companies are no longer as hot as they used to be so they worry less about competition SEO attacks. They have enough problems trying to get clients into their portals and hiring their services.

Indian companies are now paying less than a dollar per page for "non-native English speakers" and almost $2 for "native speakers" both of which are unreliable amounts since they are known for penalizing the writers to the point where the writer does not receive any amount for his hard work come payday. This is the main reason why Indian writing companies do not last in the business. They do not know how to take care of their writers. The writers walk away after 2 or 3 penalized salary schedules.

The domain name iow up for sale. So I guess it is safe to assume that the con artists that owned the company the first time had to cut their losses for some reason. The domain has been on sale for some time now without any takers. I guess it is true that it is difficult to offload a used academic writing domain name these days. What with the students using AI more and more for their writing needs, it is not just about a catchy domain name anymore. Trust no longer plays a factor in the business name. Students know not to trust such bombastic sounding names anymore.

Writing Careers / A post from a "Pakistani" writer [58]

Pakistani writers seem to have fallen by the wayside these days. I think they have gone into another line of business. One where their lack of academic capacity will not be easily noticeable. They have no ability to write a comprehensive essay in English. That was well known from the very start. Why the students gave them a chance to write for them is beyond me. At least they have disappeared, as far as I know, and have left the real writing to the real professionals. The real professionals by the way, still have to contend with the fakers in the business so students, make sure to vet the writer you want to hire very well. A Pakistani might still end up in your applicant list.

The company is in direct violation of the UK educational act whose title escapes me at the moment. @a1writer, can you help me out with the educational act title again please? The students need to know that these people are not good guys at all. They are openly violating the UK academic laws, which will end up punishing not only the company, but the student as well. It is important that the veil of deceit is lifted from this company so that students can make an informed decision. There is nothing authentic about their writers, their work, and their integrity.

Arab academic researchIf the company uses a wordpress address, then it should not be trusted. It is nothing but a fly by night company that is preying on clueless individuals, hoping to fool them into giving up their money, without delivering any service.

Wordpress is good for most things, but definitely not running an academic writing company from. If they did not even bother to buy a proper domain name to cover the wordpress address, then they have no clue what business they are trying to run.

The company claims to be an Arabian Australian research company. That does not make any sense.

Even more puzzling is why the blog site content would be written in Arabic while the name of the blog is written in English. I guess they are trying to focus on a specific Middle Eastern market. In which case, they should not be mentioning Australia in their title or company name for any reason.

They are not going to get an Australian student market using their marketing strategy. Australian students need not be told to stay away from them anyway. The site is not written in English. Unless the student speaks Arabic, there is no way he will make sense of that site.

Red FlagsRed flags have been previously raised at this forum regarding this particular company.

I guess it got buried in the back already. It has been that long since this company was discussed here.

I actually thought that the company had shuttered its doors several years back. Then the company name went up for sale. It appears someone got suckered into buying the domain name.

This time, the con artist is even worse than the original owner. Do not deal with the company. Not even for a measly $5 test paragraph.

You should not be paying for a test paragraph anyway. You will not get any proper results or observations based on the writing of a single paragraph.

Essay Services / I got an A with Homework Writers! [12]

Remember that homework help is meant to assist the student in learning his lessons. It is not mean to be another form of academic dishonesty, academic contract cheating, or whatever new method there might be to work around the academic integrity requirements of the school. It is not the job of the helper to do the work of the student. If he does that, then he is not being a homework helper, he is instead, aiding and abetting a student in cheating with his academic work. That is a big NO. Never do that. The concept of the academic helper is the same as a tutor, it is not the same as an academic writer. Learn to differentiate between the two before you start offering services that you do not understand in the field of homework help.

General Talk / Is it blackmail season? [14]

Blackmail has become a year round practice for the academic scammers. In fact, some of them have even taken to blackmailing graduates. Threatening them with certification revocation with regards to their graduation diplomas. It is always best to disregard these blackmail attempts. It will only have value if the student or graduate gives it importance. Ignoring them the first time they contact you would result in them giving up almost immediately. You should also, be using a disposable email address and mobile number for this purpose so that they will be unable to reach you by any means. Only if they cannot contact you successfully can you stop them from blackmailing you.

Seeing as how there is a 5 year limitation on the validity of academic sources, students writing their own paper or writers hired to work for students should be in the clear, provided they use only up to date materials and sources. Having a wide database only means they have a huge library of sources. It does not mean that students can be successfully accused of plagiarism. The internet has made it possible to use extremely old sources in their reports. Does that mean the student plagiarized? No. So that database is not really worth much unless it is being constantly compared to the most updated information, which it does not.

A graduate school student cannot be faulted for wanting to have a writing assistant. He can supervise his writer and provide data for the work to be done if he is too busy to do so. GD students are usually juggling their job, family, and studies. All of which they do not want to allow to suffer or fall behind. Hiring a properly trained and well skilled writer would actually work to his benefit in this case. He will achieve his academic goals provided he is also active in developing the paper, regardless of who wrote the final product. As long as he knows how the paper came about, he has himself covered.

@a1writer Can you get this guy? He is the worst kind of teacher/professor/instructor that there is. He both educates and helps the students to cheat the system. He told us his end game. He is here to make the students feel bad about "plagiarism" so that they will inquire about his "plagiarism free" services. Where have we seen his likes before? Oh yeah, at this forum too. They come and go. They never last here because the students know better and also, Students have been seeing the benefits of using AI to write their papers for them already. They have taken to improving the paper and fixing the sources themselves. So this guy is out of luck.

It is more important that the student find a highly skilled writer to assist him with his dissertation needs, regardless of whether it is in print or online. A major factor for consideration when hiring a writer is his actual location and educational background. Remember that a US educated writer will not write in the same manner, nor be truly familiar with the dissertation requirements of a different country. Any writer who claims to be skilled with international writing standards is not being honest with you. That is impossible to do. Even if you consistently consult with your dissertation adviser, based on the writer's work. Your adviser will know that you are not the one writing your paper and will advise you to stop what you are doing.

@Writerdan49 what exactly is your purpose for being here? You are not offering helpful advice to the students. You are judging them and calling them names. You cannot even participate in the thread with a decent conversation. You are the one who is being absurd here. You have no place at this forum whose focus is on helping students become the best that they can be, whether it be by working with a writer for hire, or writing the essay themselves. Our concern is that they will hire the wrong writer and get scammed. We try to prevent that. What is your mission at this forum?
noted
Dec 22, 2023

Students come here to complain about being scammed. They are sorry for their actions. We are not here to judge them. We are here to help them avoid getting scammed the first time, or going forward. The student does not commit plagiarism in this case, his writer does. I know, you don't see any difference since the paper paid for was plagiarized. However, the student does not realize that until it is too late. It would be best for you to hold off on creating such harsh opinions of students when it is clear that you are about to embark on a mission of your own at this forum. Students, beware of this person. He has an endgame to fulfill.

This is one method that is obviously effective for him. It is also nice to learn that your friend is no longer suicidal. Thank you for the update about his welfare. SpeedyPapers is a US based company.

Actually, the mere fact that the company is US based should have disqualified them from writing a paper for this UK based student. A US writer is trained differently in writing. His college papers are not written with the same format and grading standard as the UK universities and colleges. So there is absolutely no way the student would have ended up with a usable paper. It is always best to hire a writer from the country where you will be submitting the paper. Then again, with the stringest UK based academic writing laws, the student would be best writing the paper himself with the use of an AI writing assistant.

General Talk / Exam maker scam help [7]

Most academic writing companies and bad faith writers seem to have moved their operations to WhatsApp. It would be in the best interest of students to not make contact with any writers or writing company representatives through that social media channel. It simply does not pay to interact with these strangers. There is nothing to trust in the communication they send out. Do not put yourself at risk by responding to WhatApp messages. Personally, I would disregard all messages from a WhatsApp based company. It would be difficult to differentiate between the legitimate, of which there are very few, from the criminal, of which there are many. All of these proliferate simultaneously on WhatsApp. Report these bad actors immediately to WhatsApp so that their operations can be immediately shut down and the students can be better protected.

It is well known to UK students that there are academic laws in place to prevent contract cheating. Students have been successfully brought up on charges, preventing them from graduating, while the criminal companies are shut down. It is important that UK students protect themselves by not being ignorant of the law. Knowing that the law exists and actually following the law are 2 different things it seems. In my opinion, these go hand in hand. Know the law and follow the law. That way you prevent yourself from getting scammed, blackmailed, and fearful of academic backlash. Just stay on the side of right. Yes, use an AI to help you write the essay if you need to. At this rate, it is not safe to trust any academic writer. There are just too many fakes out there looking for prey.

@pauli Did you proceed to use the paper that this person wrote for you? It would be in your best interest to not have used the paper. I am not saying that he can make trouble for you. What I am saying is that it is always best to not use the paper they submitted in case that writer does try to make problems for you. As you said, your supervisor is identifiable and can be found by search. The university normally does not pay attention to poison emails. However, I am not sure if your supervisor will disregard a poison email. That is why I still have some worry for you. Let us just hope that the writer does not follow through by contacting your supervisor. Remember, the grade can be rescinced if academic contract cheating can be proven by the supervisor. It will affect your ability to graduate or pass to the next level of studies.

You have nothing to worry about. They do not have any information that they can use to academically blackmail you. It is good that you did not progress in dealing with them and that you cut them off from contacting you. I would be more worried, as @freelancewriter said, with identity theft more than anything else. That is what they may resort to should they fail to scare you with academic threats. How long has it been since they last made contact with you? Make sure to keep track of your bank balances and card charges in case they do try to suck money out of your account. That is the only path left for them to follow.

doubt a university will act on anonymous tip offs

Universities do not, as a rule, act on anonymous tip offs. They only take action once the university professor indicates a suspicion of plagiarism or contract cheating. That is because the build up of evidence is given to the professor. He must prove plagiarism or cheating beyond a doubt for the academic authorities of the university to take action. The student is, of course, given a chance to defend himself in such instances. These are not the sort of investigations that can happen merely on the say so or tip off from an unknown source. Universities do not function in such a silly manner. I have yet to hear of a university that acted on a mere unsolicited smear email that came into their inbox. This student has nothing to worry about like you said.

Not that the location mattered to him. He just wanted to say something before you said something. He doesn't really care about helping. Just making it appear like he knows UK law and he works within the lawful parameters, which we both know he does not. If you notice, he no longer analyzes the problem of the student, he just heads immediately for his go to, template response. He automatically assumes the student is from the UK because that is where most of the fraud and scams have been emanating from recently. He probably did not even notice that you pointed out his mistake. Not that he would care to correct it. He won't even admit to that error of his.
