@1writer this 3 page thread may be of particular interest to you for obvious reasons. Getting back to the original discussion now.

Just to be clear, a freelance writer is, as per dictionary definition;

... a person who works as a writer selling work or services by the hour, day, job, etc., rather than working on a regular salary basis for one employer.

While "freelancers" who work with a writing company do have variable incomes and work schedules , the mere fact that the writer applied to work for the company, submitted qualifying documents, took a qualifying exam, then waited to find out if he could work for the company or not (approval to start taking orders), when he is contacted by QAD for revisions and his pay can be deducted for lateness or other violations, then, he ceases to be a freelancer. He is instead a contractual / per project employee, having been hired to service the company clients on an individual basis of the writers choosing.

The fact also that the writer is then subject to the company's code of conduct for writers negates his independent / freelancer status. He does not work for himself since he is engaged in a profit sharing scheme per order / client with the company.

As for who is better to hire, there isn't much difference in terms of work results. If a relevantly educated writer, rather than an experienced but irrelevantly educated writer, takes your paper at the company, then you get a proper paper written for you.

Clients never know what sort of writer will pick up their order at a company until he receives the paper. He can come to an educated and confident hiring decision with a freelancer based on the interview process.

It must also be said though that the client can ask for company writer credential presentation once a writer accepts/ takes the assignment from the server. The same can also be done or requested if a writer has been referred to the new client by a previous client.

However, paper writing should never be entrusted to the confidence level of an irrelevantly educated freelancer or his (referred) cohorts when it comes to their (Iack of proper or questionable) completed university education credentials. They can say anything to get the job.

A writing company will hire a writer to work with them based on a transcript of academic completion for a specific field along with employee applicant test scores. They often limit the writer to that field (at first). Not all companies function based on a writer field limitation way but there are those that limit their writers work field only to their relevant educational field regardless of work years with them.

A company that lets writers take orders beyond their university educational scope will produce problem papers. Potential clients should ask about that and be sure that only relevantly educated writers will see the order to limit revision problems.

Learning on the job is not the same as being properly educated in relation to the subject for writing regardless of years of writing experience or number of papers / number of pages written on certain topics. The extremely long argument about that in this thread is proof of that.

Essay Services / Oxbridge essays advice needed [20]

As this post proves, the company is incapable of delivering the required grades. How can they when they are not a UK based company and they never clarified how they chose the "academic specialist in various fields"? It is clear that they are trying to mislead students with the name that they are using since they never allow their location to be mentioned anywhere on the page. They at least specifically indicate that the only UK students that are qualified to use their services are those who live Wales or Scotland, but that is not the same as telling the students where the actual location is. I do not believe that they employ UK educated writers at all. There is nothing they have said in their website that could convince me of such claims. They only say what they know the clients wish to read and quite possibly, get them the job.

Based on information I managed to come up with while looking up the domain name for this company, it appears that this name domain name is now non-existent and is neither cached nor owned by any company. While looking into the background of the company when it still existed, it appears that the owners created their own problems with the way the tasks are completed. No single writer or creator was in charge of a full project. Each project was cut up into sections and any available writer could take a section, work on it, get it checked and if approved, get paid for it. So one can only imagine the debacle that such a work system created as a final result. The company did not stand a chance with this kind of work model.

I am not convinced that the owner of these companies can be accurately described as a "racist bigot". For one thing, he openly states in both sites that he has an international pool of writers but he does employ ENL writers as well. So he appears to be proud of his international staffing, not necessarily the quality of work that they provide. For another, he appears to encourage employment of ESL writers as his clientele focus is not on ENL but rather, ESL students who would not be able to tell the difference in terms of language usage and proper academic writing level. Finally, whatever he truly thinks and feels about his "international" writer base is his own business and none of ours. Afterall, the students are the ones who are supposed to investigate before hiring their writers. If they do not want to employ an ESL writer then, doesn't that make the student the racist person in the room?

@FreelanceWriter The more that I learn about your dishonest ways, lies, and other things in relation to how you do business, the more I am sorry that I agreed with certain parties to help you and defend you at the start. The last thing I want to do is to continue to assist you in promoting yourself when you have a strong tendency to constantly put your foot in your mouth just to make yourself appear like a Diamond among the Cubic Zirconia's of the freelance writing field. I for one never pretended to be anything but a participant at this forum and I do my best to adhere to the policies and guidelines for proper self representation. You on the other hand misrepresent yourself whenever possible and lie about your actual skills and academic training as it suits you.

Go Daddy is currently selling the domain name. The owners of the company have let its online identity go for some reason. They have not renewed it for quite some time now since the companies that sell the url's often allow for a waiting period before reselling the name. Here's hoping that whoever decides to try to enter the academic writing field using the same name will do a better job at it. That is doubtful though since the reputation of the company is really bad and would be difficult to overcome. Nobody will believe the company is under new management but then again, there are those gullible people who will believe anything they read and will not bother to investigate further before jumping in to a problematic deal.

The company has gone offline but not necessarily out of business. They are still parking on their domain name and the url still directs to an active, but not loaded web server. So the company is probably reformatting or regrouping after some pandemic losses. One thing for sure is that the company will be back and the more comments left active in this thread, the better it will be for students who will eventually consider hiring this company once it goes back online.

There are verified writing companies and freelancers here took an oath known as OAR. One of the specifications of this oath is that the freelancer will not outsource the work because he is not qualified to work on it. I think one of the members of this forum is in direct violation of this oath that he took. Since he admits that he tells his clients he cannot work on the paper and then refers them to another writer or, tells them he will have to outsource parts of the paper. This oath violation should be dealt with by the owners of this forum. Why create such an oath if the freelancers here can openly violate that oath and get away with it? In that case, I would think twice about saying that academic salvation can only be found through freelancers.

The company has long been out of existence. The url has been scooped up by a Chinese company. I carries house construction advertising as of now. I am not sure if the website is in the business or, if that was just placed there to keep the url active. Eitherway, the company went from being one scam to a scam of a different sort. At least it is not selling itself as a Chinese academic writing company. At this point, we do not need to worry about the url ever coming active as a writing company again.

The company lists both a UK based address, phone number, and server location. Now, does this mean that the company is physically located in the UK? If so then why are they openly soliciting work in the areas of dissertations, assignments, research paper, and other professional papers such as content marketing? Why are they reselling previously written academic papers? I cannot answer those questions honestly since I do not have enough information to give a verified answer. Here is what I do know though. Since it is presenting itself as a professional blog site and not a writing company of any sort, I would not trust that these people actually know their jobs. Why not pay for a professional website rather than this confusing blog presentation? A blog will never take the place of a company website. Why advertise academic writing services if the company is located in the UK? I can only assume that this is false information. The company is not located in the UK since if they were, they would have been shut down by now or at least, removed the reference to academic paper writing based on the laws of the country they claim to be located in. Where are they really located? Nobody knows and hence, nobody should trust them to provide paid services to anybody.

The website appears to be offline permanently. I get the message "Username not resolved" when trying to access any of the links provided through any web browser. Is this another case of my location not allowing me to access the site? Or was the site really taken down? I cannot be sure. All I know, is that the site is offline on my end and quite possibly, on the end of several students within scattered locations. I would love to hear if anybody was recently able to get the site to come up as active for them. Let us know what you thought of the site when you got to access it. Do you think it fits the discussion in this thread?

I made a few inquiries regarding the free sample essays that they provide for download. I found out that these samples are actually the work of their existing writers. The free download is to help the potential client review the writing skills of the author and decide if he wants to hire the same writer for a similar paper. He can actually assess the writing skills of the writer before hiring the person. No guesswork needed with regards to relevant writing skills and actual knowledge of the given topic. Needless to say, only the top performing and well reviewed writers of the company manage to get their work published (Do not worry, these are not for currently enrolled student papers) for primary consideration and assessment of the clients who are shopping for a highly skilled writer.

If the OP meant dissertationcapital.com, then that site is now offline but the individual pages are still accessible via search once the company name is searched for. However, if the company indicated is dissertationcapital.co.uk, then the company only provided writing advice (without paid consultations) and sample papers. The first mention is therefore no longer relevant to the discussion presented in this thread. The second mention could be useful to some students in the UK if they wish to look into it as the company seems to specialize in advising UK based students with regards to improving their writing skills and related information.

Essay Services / About The Paper Experts [12]

As a company that services the students in the Greater Los Angeles area, it would appear that the company is on the level with regards to its existence as a business. The one red flag that defeated all of the positives the company claims to have was the fact that they have an easily found and accessible Resolution Form. What does that tell me? It tells that the company has way too many problems when it comes to revision requests and refund demands. So they created the automated form to stop wasting the time of their client services officers when it comes to addressing these issues. It is quite possible that the forms even end up in a trash heap that is ignored by the company. Nope. When a company has a banner flashing RESOLUTION FORM at me, I will immediately go look for another company to deal with. That is not the company being transparent. That is the company telling you to deal with our writers at your own risk. Nope. It does not work that way for any student looking for a reliable and legitimate service.

The server of the company is registered in France with the domain name administered by Nominet.uk. I am not sure about who actually owns the company and where the company might be (physically) located but it would appear that the company can service students based in the UK since there is no sign of the company having a true UK connection that would make the anti academic writing law applicable to the company. I am not familiar with the grading system in France so I am not sure either if their writers would be qualified to write UK academic papers. I made the last statement without knowing if their writers are French or ESL based. So mine is a mere assumption and nothing more.

This is a clear example of the pitfalls of hiring a writer without knowing his actual academic training and profession. Was this writer truly equipped to write the paper? Did he have a background in relation to the given topic? Was the student even able to consider the resume of this writer prior to the order assignment? Nope. The writer saw the price of the order and decided to take the order from the server. That is where the revision and lack of quality problems stem from every single time.
noted
Oct 11, 2022

I have learned over time that the better and best way to become an academic freelance writer is to simply stick to the topics that the writer actually trained in and matriculated from during his university days. That way he avoids the pitfalls of revisions due to working on subjects that he is little trained for or in some cases, not trained for at all. The college papers that students pay professionals to write is not the place nor time to increase the academic knowledge of the writer. That is something he should do during his own time and on his dime.

In some cases, the companies do not disclose the actual major the writer focused on in college and the students will not have any way of knowing about it since the orders are placed in a common server where a writer who is "interested" in the paper can take the paper as he wishes or he can put in a lowest bid to get the paper, regardless of his actual educational background and relevant skills and learning to write the paper.

Hmmm... It appears that clicking on the link indicates that the "Site is not available !" for some reason. No further explanations were provided. Therefore, we do not know if the site is merely undergoing a renovation or, if the site is permanently offline. Perhaps it will be best to assume that since there are several companies that use the word UK in their name, that there is some confusion as to which company is reliable and which is not. Perhaps the unreliable one went offline upon the request of the reliable site. I doubt they sued each other over conflicting name references like some company brands, but anything could be possible and lead to the turning off of the aforementioned site.

I believe that other students have not been interacting with this company lately. That is because the domain name recently expired so the url redirects to a dead server page. There is an advisory for the company admin to contact the server controller to re-establish the connection between the two. Here is hoping that the company does not come back anymore. There is a great chance that it will not be coming back since most of the companies that let their url's expire end up closing shop permanently.

Students who previously ordered papers are now seeing their papers being uploaded as "model" papers for reselling. These are students who have graduated anywhere from 4-8 years ago. They are worried about how the reselling of their papers might affect their graduation status from their universities but nobody has received any investigative emails from their universities as far as I know. The students these days are also very much aware that their essays could be resold without their knowledge and even if the writer or company provides them with an intellectual transfer of rights to the paper. Contrary to what some might think, the students are very much aware that this practice happens regularly and that they are not really protected by any laws or copyrights as far as legitimate ownership of the paper is concerned. Afterall, they were never supposed to submit the model papers for grades right?

I have slowly learned over the months I have been posting at this forum that it is important to verify the location of the company one is hiring prior to placing an order. Look into the actual location of the company as that will give you an idea about where their writers might be coming from, how well they will protect your data, and what sort of recourse you may have when the company does not fulfill the order requirements. These are information that are easily found on the pages of this site as they make no secret of their location and where their writers and company owner partners are located.

The company has an official address in Greece but, that does not mean that the company offic is actually / physically located there. Remember that they have a banner announcing their solidarity with their colleagues and friends in Ukraine. Therefore, the company is playing a game with the potential clients. The lack of transparency as to who actually owns the company, in terms of location and not just the company name is what makes dealing with this company suspect to me.

Writerbay says that they require writers who have college degrees while those with advanced educational levels are given priority since they can handle more complex jobs. This is where I have a problem with their hiring method. They ask that their writers indicate what their field of speciality is based on their college degree, but they do not indicate that the writer needs to focus only on his academic and/or professional training. They still prefer to hire writers who have "multi-expertise" which I believe does a disservice to the student who is looking for a professionally developed paper.

Multi-expertise writers often deliver problematic papers because their actual knowledge of the given assignment is still limited when compared to writers who are really knowledgable and trained in the subject they are writing about. Their writers may not be fake but, I would not be confident in hiring a (to repeat myself) jack of all trades writer when I need an Engineering, Aviation, or Geology paper written (for example).

His / Her knowledge will be limited and will also rely on research based on information he / she finds, without knowing how accurate or relevant the information is to the actual writing assignment. Consider it this way, the fact checker would need to be fact checked by someone more knowledgeable and capable because of multi expertise writer's limited exposure to the complexity of the given topic. That is not what the student is paying for.

While Google is definitely one way to check for plagiarism in a free from fees form, it is not infallible. It will do no harm if the student opts to use a plagiarism checker that his teacher / professor has confidence in. If it comes out problem free, then the paper is safe to use. There are actually some teachers who now require their students to self-check for plagiarism using a program the professor suggests. He gets a copy of the plagiarism report even before the paper is submitted, the professor then asks the student to correct the problem points to avoid a failing paper and being reported for plagiarism. Students who hire writers often rely on those reports when requesting for revisions of their writer.

I wonder why the company decided to change it's name to custommadeessay.com. It does not appear to be a highly suspicious company. Although the testimonials could have been paid for and written by their own writers. At least it allows students to compute their order price before actually placing the order. Something that I am sure the students appreciate and helps give the company a sense of legitimacy. I believe that the company underwent some sort of housekeeping. I sense that they have a totally different set of writers from the ones they had under their previous name. Why they still hold on to that problematic connection is beyond me.

Based on the current simple format for this website, one can compare it to the simplicity of FLW's presentation with 2 marked differences. First, the writer is no longer focused on academic writing. The writer and his partners are now focused on other writing avenues related to the entertainment business. Although a reference to writing high level academic papers of the PhD type is referenced, it is not the main concentration of their work. In fact, I do not believe they engage in academic paper writing in the sense that some students and writers here might consider. Not with the change in the writing business focus the company site underwent.

Second, the writer/s actually reference their cost per word or per X number of words per page. That makes them worth considering in my opinion. The writer/s have outlined how they charge per project, per word, and per full page word count. So the simplicity of the website, which is why I mentioned FLW at the start as it reminded me of his (minimally) straightforward company site, actually works to make the company / writer appear above board. He actually gives the potential clients a starting point cost-wise to consider negotiating with the writer/s.

The writers of bestessays.com.DND originate from only 2 countries, neither of which would instill confidence in the client in terms of quality workmanship for their papers. More than a majority of their writers originate from the Philippines and the rest. come from the Ukraine. These 2 countries comprise more than 83% of the traffic for the website itself. The uk.bestessays.com.DND address is a subdomain of this website that completes the remainder of the visitors to the site. These are the reasons why they cannot deliver good writing samples and why the students cannot communicate properly with their support team.

The URL no longer exists on the server it is connected to. A click on the page indicates that the page no longer exists. Therefore, this site is one less of a problem for everyone to think about. It no longer matters if the site is genuine or not. The fact that the company has been taken down means it was never genuine to begin with. The actions of the owners pretty much answered the question the OP posted. It would be better for the students to learn how ro create a proper writer qualfication system for themselves that they can use to interview independent writers. Do not ask if they can do the job or how confident they are about completing your order, Ask the writer to provide his actual educational qualifications so that you can assess if he can truly meet the writing and grading needs of your paper. Create your own bidding system so that you can forgo writing companies and masquerading independent writers in favor of writers whom you know are truly qualified, have relevant learning, and proper educational qualifications to meet your writing demands.

Essay Services / List of 4writers.net Customers [8]

This thread leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The OP had no business posting the information of students whose orders he had completed. His problem was not with the student, it was with the company. Why punish the students for the crime of the company? What end does such a vicious activity achieve for the writer? Destroying the academic future of the client did not get him paid did it? Writer's should remember that the student trusts the writer to keep his personal information private. In fact, that sort of data is protected by law in most countries. Respect the student's right to privacy. Fight with the company, expose the company's ills, malign the company if you so wish. Do what you have to do, to the company, not the student. Leave the unsuspecting client out of the payment drama. They paid for their order. It is not the student that did not pay the writer, it was the company. Do not transfer the hatred to the wrong party. There is no justification for that.

So we now have an admitted Indian company, based in India, writing academic papers that are tailored for Indian students. They make this very clear in their otherwise template of an anchor page on their website. How in the world do they expect to earn clients from their own country (studying overseas) when they cannot even properly fill in the template information requirements with things other than Loren Ipsum and other filler placeholders on the page? Nope. There is absolutely no way even their own kin should trust this writing company. It reeks of crime even as they claim to want to help no one other than their fellow Indians. At the front of the page, they assure the students of a high UK based grade. In the About Us section they say that they write model papers and do not advice that the students submit it for a grade to avoid potential problems. Then, they have a special warning section for UK based students, which leads to a dead section of the site. They obviously know that their services will get them sued in the UK but since they are not located in the UK, they never do give a physical address, they figure they can just confuse the students and get away with the scam.

This is a website that I am sure students who would like to learn how to write their papers on their own would appreciate. The objective of the company is to help educate students about how to develop their paper, regardless of its type. They offer sample papers and writing consultation services only. They do not offer academic writing. Something that I appreciate since the company, regadless of location is offering a valuable and truly helpful service to the hardworking students who do not want to take the shortcut in their studies. Writing Careers / Should I bother with Academon? [39]

Academon as a website is obviously dead. However, the used papers market is not. As I pointed out in a previous thread, there is a new niche market opening up for the academic writing companies. They are now reselling the old papers they have in their servers to students looking for "model papers" to use as templates or guides for their own writing on specific topics. That is the main reason that academic writing companies are not open to hiring new writers at the moment. What is the sense in doing that when the students would rather write the papers themselves using previously written work as its basis? The company wins, the writers lose. Definitely do not bother with Academon since the site is up, but not really doing anything other than being an anchor page for future use of its owner. If you are a student, look at writing companies that sell model papers. For independent writers who have papers dating at least 5 years back, look into selling those on your own to get your share of this emerging market.

Essay Services / Affordablewriting.net ? [14]

When a writing company claims to have over 700+ writers who are deemed as "experts" in various fields, I tend to see this as an exaggerated claim that means only one thing, the company does not provide quality writing services. Why? By admitting that they have writers based worldwide, that means the majority of their writers are ESL, which can only mean that any ESL person can work for this company. They do not care about the educational attainment of their writers, or whether they can actually write in a field that they claim to be experts in. They just care about keeping the seats filled in the writer's pool. Nothing more. I would not deal with any company that tries to convince me that their global writers pool is not composed of ESL non-professionals misrepresenting themselves, trying to write about topics they have no true knowledge and hence, skills to write about. in any manner.

4) Do you know of any other message boards/websites where one can post essays/papers needed and have people contact them based on the type of paper requested?

It is no longer difficult for people to find message boards and websites to post their work and have the writers come to them with bids instead. Merely typing in the correct keywords into a search engine will help direct the potential client to the sites and the writers, to the potential work listings. The problem is that these websites often require a membership and there are hefty fees associated with such networking arenas. Both sides are often not willing to pay such costs.

Clients will never lack for writer choices at these forums which allow them to set the base price per page or per word at these venues. It is more preferrable actually to hire and independent writer that way since the writer is forced to submit credentials for the client to consider, choosing from a pool of applicants based solely upon his specific and personal considerations. There are application forms at these sites that the applicant has to fill up and client requested documents to upload so these sites are not geared towards "multi expertise" writers but rather, profession specific writers.

I mean, there only seem to be 3 of us active, with the exception of one intermittent poster who seems to use several accounts at this forum, who seem to actually care if this forum still exists for students to refer to or not. It would appear that the people actually in charge of promoting this forum have also lost interest in promoting the cause of this forum. Otherwise, why would they be satisfied with keeping a 12 year old claim to fame active here? Has anyone else actually seen any reference to the forum as being an authority aside from us handful of active users? If we really want this forum to become relevant in calling a spade a spade, the owners of the forum should do their share and actually promote this forum as best as they can, by and through any means applicable / necessary.

There are 2 factors that I believe should be the basis of per page pricing. That is, how difficult will it be write 300 words per page? Are the sources difficult to come by? Am I trained enough or educated enough to deliver a stellar paper to this client? How soon does he need the paper? Finally, I will need to factor in the cost of my utilities in the price (electricity, internet service, etc.). Based on these considerations, I believe that an independent writer would come up with a fair and acceptable cost proposal for his client. As to what percentage of clients are foreign these days, I believe this question is incorrect. The correct question would be, how many clients does one have these days? The students have been very stingy with their cost allowances and oftentimes decide to write the paper themselves based on previously purchased model papers. They are clearly learning to scrimp and save by using paper models to help them develop their own original papers. Only clients aflush with cash these days would immediately hire a writer before trying to write the paper themselves.
