I really can't understand why people keep asking for company referrals when they know very well that it is against the forum rules.

If only they would use their eyes and scan the page, they would see that ES already has a list of recommended companies in EssayDirectory, reliable independent writers under the Writers and Services link, as well as open endorsements for GraduateWriter and CustomPapers.

It just doesn't make sense to me. All of the tools required for the students to gain access to reputable academic outsourcing companies and reliable independent writers are at their fingertips and they still fail to see it. What needs to be done for the students to come to their senses and realize that if the company is in the DND list, then they should run far away from those companies.

I also thought that their friends and classmates would make very good sources for referrals to companies and writers with whom they have had good work relationships with in the past.

Why would they rather ask strangers here than the people whom they interact with everyday? Using a model paper is an open secret in the academic world anyway.

It may not be right for the OP to be asking for recommendations for writing services at this forum. For one, the independent writers and company representatives will put their best foot forward to get the business, but that won't necessarily translate into a successful transaction. There are still some scam artists masquerading as independent writers here. Those are the ones who don't sign up for the vetting services of this forum. Beware of any writer or company not fully investigated by the owners of this forum. Deal with them with the knowledge that they are not recommended by this site in terms of quality, responsibility, and trustworthiness.

Aside from that, recommendations tend to go south when a student merely takes the word of someone he doesn't know, such is the case for this post, just to get a reference for a writing company. What is the student actually looking for? A good quality writer or company or somebody with a discount code for one of those more questionable places where the paper could be merely cut and paste information from other sites?

There are dangers to asking for recommendations in a public place. That's how you end up getting scammed.

Well, students need to learn that the responsibility of finding a reputable writing company for them to work with relies on their ability to read between the lines when they are negotiating with the company or the individual writer. It is not up to the participants of this forum to point out who is the good player and who is not. You should learn to trust your gut feeling. If the negotiations are not smooth, you are more than likely dealing with a scam company or writer.
