Hello I'm a student at an university , I decided to contact this programming site for help with an assignment . I wasn't going to have time to finish it so that's why I seeked help .

Blackmailed StudentAfter I went to the site and I place an order for $400 .

They said it would take one day . so after one day I asked them for the assignment , they said they need one more day . So I gave it to them .

Then the next day I asked them again and they said they were finish and were done with it . I received the file and the program was not done properly and looked liked they didn't even try . If the assignment was too hard , they should have told me that in the first place .

So I went to PayPal and asked for a refund .

After a couple of minutes of the dispute, I got an email from them threatening me that they going to report me to the school for academic dishonesty . I didn't even use their work. I didn't submit it because of how bad it was .

They pressuring me to end the dispute within 24 hrs or else !i don't know what to do please help.

Their info:

Why would you divulge to them where you go to school in the first place?

Personal information provided aside, the fact that you did not use the program that the company writer developed for you is your ace in the hole. You don't need to worry about them blackmailing you because you never submitted their work. Even if they report you, an investigation, if ever there is one will disprove their claims. That is, provided you were not crazy enough to ask another programming site to work on the assignment for you. If you did, then you may have a problem. If you are investigated for contract cheating, and the university uses Turnitin to investigate, that company now has a way, using a specific computer code plagiarism software to prove the authorship of your computer code.

The universities now have ways and means of proving the original authorship or any written document provided to them. That is why you need to make sure that no trace of the program they wrote for you exists. I hope that you wrote the code yourself towards the end. That is the best protection that you have. If you did not use their code and you did not hire another company to do it for you, then rest easy. I believe they cannot prove their case. That is, if the university or your professor takes their claim seriously.

On the other hand, you turned out to be an irresponsible buyer. You shouldn't order a custom service (programming is a custom service) as if it was ordering a metal pipe from a hardware store that can be easily returned and sold to another customer.

Ok I did a mistake . And I'm never going to do that again . They barely did the assignment at all , they didn't do 50% of it . So you saying I should just pay and let it go ?

I'd offer them to pay up to 40-50%; if they have any sense of honesty they will accept it and both sides should peacefully part ways.

I'd answer them again that this is the only reasonable solution and that you hope they will agree to it and stop wasting energy on that (in Paypal you may be able to reply by offering the amount to close the case so I'd do that). Then I'd wait and see what happens.

That's what happens when working with a Pakistani company. At this point I'd give it more time and do nothing but wait and see.

If you didn't submit the work (and don't plan to), there's really nothing to report. You can always say that you only intended to use the work, properly, as a guide for your own work. You can also tell them that if they don't stop threatening you or if they contact your school, you'll alert PayPal to their threats to harm you to coerce you to close a legitimate dispute instead of allowing PayPal to go through its dispute process and that PayPal will investigate and could terminate their account for it.

No worries. The blackmailers were working on the assumption that you actually used the sloppy paper they used in your class. Since you did not use the paper, their claim does not have a leg to stand on. Your professor may ask to see your work and ask you questions about how you developed the code, but if you decided to use your own skills to develop the paper, then you don't have to worry. Now, if you hired another service to complete the assignment, then you may have a problem should the professor decide to satisfy his curiosity with an inquiry into your work. Regardless, I would not worry about the blackmail claim. It will end where to started all because you did not use the code they sent you.

Sadly, this company is still active and still has a registered UK business address. Their reputation as a scam company that blackmail their clients has spread across the forums and threads online so there is a high percentage of awareness when it comes to this company being a bad player in the academic writing field. They still prey on the innocent students who cannot be bothered to do a proper validity check on the company before hiring them. That said, this thread exists for a reason. I hope that the lurkers here know better than to hire that company in the future.
