Has anyone used his services? Could you share your experience please?
"The Freelancer" is not me. Just want to make that clear to avoid any confusion.

Students are clear. They dont want to use your medicorate service.
I'm sorry, but I really don't know how this works. I've been trying to contact you (and others) in order to ask you to work with me, but there is no contact info. Because I am a new member I am not allowed to email. If you're interested in working with me or know someone who is, please email me. I know you aren't supposed to post addresses here, but I'm not sure how else to initiate contact. My address is at hot mail.
Thanks for asking (assuming you mean me). I don't think we're allowed to use the messaging system here for that purpose but it should not be too difficult for you to figure out how to contact us without breaking any forum rules using the information that we are permitted to publicize.

I'm sorry, but I really don't know how this works.
I was just thinking maybe you want to visit another similar forum, i.e. EssayChat.
Experiences with the-freelancer
Three weeks ago I was about to solicit the services of the-freelancer. One experience, by the user name madcrow or something, mentioned he is actually not Steven but someone else. However he is one of the recommended writers over on essaychat so I thought he would be legit. I'm highly cynical. I am having doubts whether anyone is trustworthy at all :/
Does anyone have experience with steven allison? He (or someone) monitors this forum as the said user madcrow was refunded when he complained on this forum. I suppose I'm answering my own question - however the past experience could have been a random mistake. I'm posting here in the hope of a second or third user review.
What?
Here's a second user review for you. I commissioned an assignment with Steven almost 2 weeks ago, which he said would be completed within a few days. I paid 50% deposit straight into his bank account on this basis. No work has been provided thus far and its been one excuse after the other (when he actually does respond to an email). I've been sending emails chasing this up to both his email addresses steall1984@outlook steven@the-freelancer.co.uk. The last communication he sent, I was to receive the work last night and alas, even after chasing up again yesterday night, still no response this morning. Like you mentioned, I assumed being a recommended and active member on essaychat even with his professional website, I could at least expect some professionalism. So far, I have been highly disappointed.
Will update once I either receive the work or a refund.
Thank you jasonade - i really appreciate your input!. I will email freelance writer or wordsies instead. Have you considered these options? That is if you attempt to take the plunge again. your bank may be able to help-?
Received no communication back from Steven the-freelancer.co.uk regarding the work or a refund of my payment. Students beware of this writer, it appears I have been scammed. I never thought a UK-based writer would be the one to do this, but it just shows the nature of this market. I completed the work myself in the end to enable me to meet the deadline.
Dear Jasonade - good for you! Though I'm sorry you were scammed. It happens to all of us. You're contribution saved me basically so I am so so grateful. His website is really good. I found someone else but who knows :/
Hi there,
I've been absent for a while as something pretty awful happened to me, the details of which I'd rather not go into. However, Jason, I'm sorry to have let you down. Please get in touch with your paypal details and I'll refund you the deposit. I am NOT a scammer, but occasionally things outwith our control happen and this was such an instance.
Regards,
Steven
You can't ask more than that. Glad you're back.
Me too. Let's hope the negative effects of this bad press can be unwound. Eek.
Several years ago, we experienced a microburst that carried a sign from a church four blocks away to our front yard, knocked over trees that were decades old (one knocked over our backyard fence and unleashed the neighbor's vicious dogs into our yard), tore off roofs in our neighborhood and generally devastated a 2-block square area of our city. Our power was out for 4 days and I was scrambling to communicate with my clients the whole time. They say dogs are man's best friend, but I'm here to tell you it's electricity...
Do you know Steven Allison? I think I was scammed
I recently contacted Steven Allison, 'The Freelancer', so he was supposed to help me edit one article and write another. At the beginning the communication was good. The delivery deadline of the articles was on April 27, 2017. However, since then, I have been sending him emails and I have not received any answer.
Unfortunately, I ordered other articles and I have paid him using paypal. The deadline of those articles oscillates between the end of May and June. But I think I will not receive anything.
I would like to know if you have had the same experience with Steven.
I can give you more information about him in the following messages.

Let's get this straight. You paid for a couple of projects to be delivered by the end of this and next month, but you're already bad-mouthing your writer? Please correct me if I'm wrong (that's never a problem in here), but damn, why don't you give this writer the benefit of the doubt until he/she proves otherwise before making such a negative post?
He said the first deadline was April 27 and the writer did not respond. He's worried (rightly so if this is true) about the other stuff that's been paid for in advance.
Yes, the first deadline was April 27 and the writer hasn't responded (I ordered 2 articles). And now I'm worried about other articles which I had paid before the deadline of the first 2 articles. And what also worries me is that he does not respond to any of my messages.
If I recall correctly, there was a similar event with a writer who used a similar (or same) handle. You might want to use the search function on the site and see what happened.
@wordsies: Yeah, and just my luck that his handle is easily confused with mine...
@Jorge, it is really sad that someone can alter the terms of works without communication. What he did is condemnable because he should have sent a message communicating of any issue on his side. It is sad that ProffessorVerb still wants you to continue trusting such an individual. He does not deserve it, he should refund the amount and apologize for the inconvenience before the deadline so that you can find someone else!!
@FreelanceWriter If you remember, when we met you thought I did the same thing with my email, though I did not know you at the time, so it could be unintentional on his part (can't argue either way). But yeah, I can imagine it confuses clients and costs you a lot. That sucks, especially given the current situation.

Such a generic handle could easily create username problems for you. As you can see, it is very easy to create variations of your username and, in the process, lead to confusing online identities. You should have added some numbers or special characters to your otherwise flat sounding username to help make you stand out from the rest. I am not saying that your username is bad, I am just saying that your username consideration process did not consider all the negative factors and easy to remember, but easily confused username could eventually bring to you and your business.
I'm doing just fine with my chosen ID, thank you. Since you're interested enough in the subject of the "username consideration process" to have resurrected this thread three years after the most recent post, what's the name that you selected for your company?
I guess the company that tried to spoof Freelancewriter's identity did not last long. There was no sense in their continuing to pretend to be him since he has a long standing reputation at this forum. Granted that the clients are now few and far between, I believe that he has a pretty easy to remember username and is good for business. Provided the business is not struggling as it is these days.
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.

I don't necessarily even assume that they actually deliberately tried to spoof my ID, although that's certainly possible; I just wanted to make it clear that we're not related. It's not the first time that's happened, but on the whole, the benefits of my original choice of ID have outweighed the downside. My concern is simply that readers (especially guests) who see anything even close to "Freelance Writer" in thread titles could mistakenly assume those threads are about me.
Originally, I tried to create that ID when I first got online and signed up on AOL in 1997. "FreelanceWriter" had already been taken, but when I happened to try again about two years later, it had become available again, meaning that the person who originally had it either got off AOL or released that ID to create a different ID. Once in a while, I still get spam addressed, by name, to "Kim N_ _ _ _" who apparently had my email address prior to 1999. When I started writing for essay companies in 2003, I used it as my Writer ID and have never used any other essay-company writer ID. I did the same thing when I first joined this forum about five years later. The only reason I had to add "NYC" to it when I created my own website url in 2009 or 2010 was that "FreelanceWriter" wasn't available.
If anything, it's been very helpful to be able to build a reputation and a "brand" under the exact same ID on multiple platforms, especially in an unregulated industry where one of the most common (necessary) tactics of scammers is to change their IDs and email addresses to reinvent themselves, constantly. In that kind of environment, it's obviously very helpful to have maintained a single ID for 25+ years.
