This guy was trying to scam me I think. We had a descent conversation via e-mail then we wanted me to pay to a suspicious sounding paypal act. I transferred 1 cent, turns out the paypal act is from singapore and I asked him about it and never got a response. Still Looking.

I did give you a 164 word sample at the start. You seemed satisfied with it, even mentioning "I liked your style". I have refunded you the 1 cent.

He did actually write a paper. The E-Mail was fishy though. Hopefully all can be cleared.

He did actually write a paper.

In case some are wondering, I am a legitimate writer and have extensive experience writing in different fields. Zarins had some concerns over the 'excessive' need for citations, which I felt were essential for such a assignment (or partly because of my thirst for research).

Philosophy paper*such a assignment-- article misuse

*in case some are wondering-- awkward

*which I felt were essential-- incorrect subject/verb agreement

*my thirst for research-- awkward; the correct idiomatic expression is "thirst for knowledge"

If you can't even get it together to write a simple post on a message board in fluent English, please consider another industry.

I'd like to, and also to run it through turnitin.com; alas, I'm lazy, and not a professor. Judging by what I see, however, your need for excessive quotations has an easily traceable source.

It's hard to believe:

1. On Nov 26, 2013 I posted:

Legitimate companies have some sort of a hiring process. They won't work with a contractor who cannot write a coherent sentence or whose writing samples, resume, or personal messages contain blatant errors. On the other hand, anyone can set up a new email account under a fake name, for example: dr.paul.steward@gmail and claim to be Dr. Paul Steward.

2. On Dec 3, 2013, a scammer registered an account under the SAME FAKE EMAIL / email, ie. <Dr. Paul Steward> dr.paul.steward@gmail and started spamming this forum. How low can these scammers go?

'excessive' need for citations

An excessive need to use citations in any paper means you plan to get the paper across to the client merely based on cut and paste, along with other plagiarized content. If and when passed through a plagiarism checker, the paper will turn up a red flag of more than 50% plagiarized content. You never had and will never the ability to write the paper at the level the OP required. That is why the client was rightly concerned with the excessive use of citations in the paper. The OP was right not to work with this writer.

An excessive number of citations is certainly poor, amateurish writing that's typical for lower-level students (and inexperienced writers), and it usually means the paper is devoid of any real scholarship; but it isn't directly related to "plagiarism" at all. I've seen plenty of student essays that cited almost every sentence. Actually, it usually represents a very conscientious effort on the part of a student to avoid plagiarizing anything. The problem with those types of essays is that they don't represent any original thought or analysis; but (technically) if everything is paraphrased and properly cited, the one thing it's not is plagiarism.

Zarins had some concerns over the 'excessive' need for citations

It is a definite red flag when a writer chooses to fill his paper with one too many citations. Simply sticking citations in there is not writing a paper. That is called research. The information should be used to create a new thought, inform the reader of advanced considerations, or offer an understanding of the study that can be gleaned from combining all this information. Simply citing the information and calling it a research paper is a scam. No teacher or professor will give a passing mark to any student whose paper relies heavily on other people's words instead of his own perspective discussion. This "writer" had no idea how to do the job. It was meant to be a quick money grab which the OP thankfully, did not fall for.
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.
