DiaryHiroshima Diary was written by Japanese doctor Michihiko Hachiya in the two months following the dropping of atom bomb on Hiroshima. Hiroshima Diary extends an actual account of experiences of Hachiya after the atomic blast. Hachiya served as a director at Hiroshima Communications Hospital. He resided near the hospital. His home was situated about a mile from the place where the blast took place. In Hiroshima Diary, Michihiko Hachiya vividly catches the suffering and experiences of those people who suffered from the atomic blast at Hiroshima.

As per Hachiya, the impact of atomic bomb blast was so potent that it ripped apart all the clothes he was wearing on his body. Both Hachiya and his spouse suffered serious burns following the blast. The way Hachiya describes his arduous journey to the hospital is indeed touching and moving. Hachiya was extended care and treatment by those hospital personnel who somehow did not accrue grave injuries owing to the blast.
