Hello all,

I started working with this writing company as I was busy with my work but luckly i did not submit the paper as accordinly
everything is fine untill recently, they told me that the department of education had ask for copyright and they need to submit the application. They had sent me an offical letter from the department of education as follows;

Dear concerned,

this is in regards to the services being provided to student for editing and proofreading against their academic assignments. Under the section of copyright,designs and patent act 1988. it's hearby requested that all those students whose name aren't registered or published under the database, shall provide their registration number copyrights detail to close their concern which is ending from few weeks.

Verification will start from the student to the university where the work has been submitted. the conversation shall be held with the copyrights and miss-academic conduct department and the dean of faculty of the university.

and they had put the logo and signatures of the department

they told me that the infringement act will fine me £10,000 pounds and cancellation of degree and i could get 5 months imprisonment.

I definitely know this becomes a scam as the department for education stands for (DFE) but they are using it as DOE.

Is it the best way is to ignore them?

It's a laughably-stupid totally fraudulent letter for several different reasons. Don't respond at all. You're the fish, they're the fisherman; and if you respond at all, they'll think they have a bite on the line and will start trying to reel you in. Just delete their future emails unread.

yeah that's what i thought, they just say that they will fill the application of copyright for me. I don't understand why do they have to do this kind of thing. it was all going smoothly.

Kid, take it easy. That was written by a first grader. There is no blackmail involved unless you allow the fraudsters to get to you. Ignore the bums. They are just trying to intimidate you. The problem, is that they hired the worst hack on the planet to fake the document for them. BTW, education departments do not deal with writing companies or writers. That letter implies that the department of education is in cahoots with the writing company, that will never happen. Not unless hell freezes over. Do not fall for the scam. Ye, they are trying to blackmail you. Respond to that letter and the blackmailing begins. Ignore them and your life will be fine. Hakuna matata, no worries.

I remember when a student approached me, shaking in his boots because he had received a similar letter. How Di not come from the writing company though. It looked highly professional and could have fooled anybody, except for someone with a trained eye. There were so many red flags in the "copyright" violation letter that I told the student to take it easy, block the email address, and forget about it. He took my advice and graduated without a problem from the university without anyone ever knowing I was his academic writer.
