I would just like to share what I know about determining the originality of an essay. Please add to it or correct me if I am wrong.
While essay writing companies provide a plagiarism and originality checker service with their orders, these cannot be relied upon because these are software that the company had created to cover up the plagiarism that their writers include in their papers. Therefore, students should double check the papers that are submitted to them using an independent checker.
One of these independent checkers could be turnitin.com. This is the official plagiarism checker of global schools and universities but, the services also come at a premium price. Other checkers such as grammarly and chegg are free to use, but often overlook aspects of plagiarism in the paper. Remember that some aspects of these papers, such as the in-text citation references within the paper itself, though properly referenced as a source will be flagged as plagiarism by the software since the AI cannot tell the difference between the citation and the plagiarized posting. So use the free checkers with caution.
One of the posters here before referenced using Google itself as a plagiarism checker. One would simply have to take a random paragraph or sentence from the writing, search for it in Gooogle then see what happens. Do these several times and if similarly worded searches come up, then the possibility of having a plagiarized paper is high. No similarities means the writer actually did his job of developing an original paper. The Google way is fast, free, and comes with a high degree of accuracy.
There is no single program out there that can prove the probability of plagiarism with certainty. There will always be room for misreading since the program / AI cannot do what the human can, when it comes to using logic and comparison when looking for plagiarism. However, these programs serve its purpose for the quick review of papers by professors. The professor still has to do the assessment part of the assignment in the proper way.
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.
