Extorted StudentHi guys I got in contact with a company last month for help with some assignments/test but I end up changing my mind .These ppl became enraged when I said I wasn't interested anymore. They wanted my username and password to assess my account for they can know what to charge ,I was iffy about that but I gave it so they had my info and threatened to tell school I was cheating if I didn't pay them even though I didn't use the service.

So I did pay them But if course they contact me again saying they are having legal issues now and I must pay for they can delete my info.I pay again then they contact again saying that wasn't enough to beat the case they need more and they will really delete my info.So I pay again( I know it's very foolish smh but I was scared .

Anyways they contacted me again saying now the CEO has committed suicide because it took much stress and he saved all of his students but now his wife is pissed so she wanted revenge and everyone must pay or their info will be leaked. So this "woman" starts contacting saying she's gonna be homeless if I don't pay and she rather die .Then sending me screenshots of them in my account from before .

I end up telling the lady I'll pay some of the 2000 she wants so I send a bit at first she is pissed then she says okay I'll beg to more people and she sends out this mass email to fake emails address.but the next day comes and she wants her money and I don't have it so. I tell her leave me alone I'm tired of scams .now she has sent the school an email saying I was involved in cheating .

What do I do next?

Unfortunately, it's already too late for you to do the smartest thing by simply ignoring them and blocking their numbers and emails. All of your other questions are already answered in detail in Post # 79 right here: https://essayscam.org/forum/gt/blackmailed-money-assignment-6764/2/

So I did pay them But if course they contact me again saying they are having legal issues now and I must pay for they can delete my info.I pay again then they contact again saying that wasn't enough

This is exactly why nobody in your situation should never even consider paying ransom. Once they know they have you scared enough to send them money, they won't stop. Block every means by which they've contacted you and don't even read any further messages before adding any new numbers or emails to your block list. Contact law enforcement through these links:

ic3.gov/Home/ComplaintChoice
actionfraud.police.uk/how-to-report-fraud

Then, just forget about this. Lesson learned and, hopefully, others reading this will take my advice before they pay ransoms.

they had my info and threatened to tell school I was cheating if I didn't pay them even though I didn't use the service.

It doesn't even matter if they actually reach someone at the school who takes them seriously. If you didn't submit the work for academic credit, you haven't violated any academic honor codes. There's no such thing as "attempted cheating." Even in the unlikely event that your school takes it seriously and contacts you, all you'd have to do is tell them the truth about never using the work. At worst, someone might lecture you, informally, about the honor code and maybe outline whatever resources your school provides for writing assistance.

now she has sent the school an email saying I was involved in cheating .

It doesn't matter, for the reason that I just explained. Now that they've already shot the hostage anyway, there's even less reason to continue reading anything they send you. Block and report.

Why would you suggest reporting fraud on a UK website to an American studying in America? Your advice is wrong.

In this disconcerting situation, it is imperative to exercise discernment and fortitude. Regrettably, you've been ensnared in a deceitful web, subject to extortionist tactics. The best course of action now is to discontinue all communication with these unscrupulous individuals, blocking their avenues of access.

Additionally, meticulously document any prior interactions for potential legal recourse. This misguided and unethical endeavor on their part holds no bearing on your academic integrity, as you never utilized their services for academic gain. As a result, their threats carry no substantial weight within the confines of academic institutions.

When seeking academic assistance, it is paramount to engage a personalized writer of the utmost integrity who consistently produces authentic work. Ensure they offer a transparent pay-after-service structure, instilling trust in your collaborative endeavors. Such a conscientious approach safeguards you from unscrupulous actors while upholding your academic integrity. Your steadfast commitment to truth and resilience will be your greatest allies in these trying

Not that the location mattered to him. He just wanted to say something before you said something. He doesn't really care about helping. Just making it appear like he knows UK law and he works within the lawful parameters, which we both know he does not. If you notice, he no longer analyzes the problem of the student, he just heads immediately for his go to, template response. He automatically assumes the student is from the UK because that is where most of the fraud and scams have been emanating from recently. He probably did not even notice that you pointed out his mistake. Not that he would care to correct it. He won't even admit to that error of his.
