Absolutely nothing, but the guy who posted the number claims to be from the US and provides a Kenyan number. Why lie? I live in Croatia and I've never hid that. Yet, here I am. If you know what you're doing, you can succeed in this industry regardless of where you are. I detest people who lie their way through life and sadly the vast majority of all such people who try to weasel their way to clients in this particular industry are from Kenya.

Exactly. There's plenty of room in this industry for legitimate ESL writers who don't misrepresent their location or ESL status. The fact that so many don't only makes things difficult for those who do. Prospective clients have a right to know whether a writer is ESL or NES. Same goes for British clients who prefer UK-based writers even though some of us American writers have no problem writing UK English. If I want their business, I might explain to them that I have many UK clients and that I know how to write UK English, but I don't contact (or respond to) them using some phony email like "UKFreelancer" and write the email in UK English to get their projects deceitfully.

In 1958 when I was 5 years old, 17-year-old high school student Robert G. Heft designed an American flag with 50 stars in anticipation of the admission of Hawaii and Alaska as states for a school project. His teacher gave him a B- for his effort until he submitted his design to the U.S. Congress and it was subsequently approved by President Eisenhower* as the U.S. flag. Then, and only then, did Heft's teacher change his grade to an A.

I cannot help but wonder, with all of the advertising in this forum for direct hire writers, do the writers really follow the "no recommendations" allowed policy? Or do you just contact the students privately so as not to violate the no recommendation rule? Having been told that this was mere code before, I am really looking for clarity on this matter. I mean, do the writers really have the personal willpower not to contact the students screaming, "Contact me now!" ? Or is contacting the client privately an open secret here that the admin chooses to turn a blind eye to?

You know full well that Admin has access to our PMs and will disable them for that.

Based upon what I have seen regarding professional business writers (or otherwise) at this forum, there was a time when there was more than just 1 active writer at this forum. I do not count myself as one of the active writers here because I have been retired for quite some time now. I will leave the writing jobs to those who really need the clients. I haven't seen another active writer at this forum over the past year or so. I do not know the reason why. Where did they all go?
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.
