Why are some essay writing companies so disappointing?

Having read threads on different pages the thing that comes very apparent to me is that writing companies do not do what they advertise e.g papers are plagiarist, do not send essay's on time and don't respond back to their client's calls or emails.

Down StudentHow can they treat people like this and then expect to get return business, surly if it is done well they would then get repeat orders.

They don't realise how awful it is that you are waiting for a paper and it is not on time.

This is people's lives they are dealing with, and before anyone gets judgmental " you should write your own essays," you do not know the individual's circumstances to pass a comment like this.

We are not asking for anything that the companies are not advertising they do for a living and are quite happy to pay for the work that is done.

Companies or individual "essay writers" that rip clients off should be ashamed of themselves and I wonder how you sleep at night.

But you cannot go through life doing this to people and one day you will become unstuck.

Treat people with respect and ask yourself would I like to be treated this way.

I agree. That's why the best course of action that a customer should take is find a writer/company that they can be satisfied with in terms of both quality and price and stick with that company/writer. It's not impossible, it's not even that hard. All it takes is just a little effort, a little cash, and a lot of caution.

Anybody who has a valued place at University, and then decides to use an essay writing company deserves everything they get !!!! There not cheap and if your really that desperate that you cant do the work, you should'nt be there.

Cheating, plagerism, dishonesty, you make me sick. There are millions of people that worked damn hard to get their degrees, including me and my husband, i got a first as did he, and we did it without cheating.

If you cant be bothered to do the work, then leave the university place for someone who really deserves it.

First of all, this is a writers' forum. So, however valuable advice you have for students, you should post that on a students' forum.

Secondly, you're just not 1% familiar with what essay writing industry is about. You worked hard at the university but how careless you are here posting all the comments without bothering to do even a little research about essay writing industry and its purposes.

Third, your post doesn't make any sense in the context of the thread.

this is an open forum for customers, writers, company owners, people with passing interest, chainsaw jugglers, etc. rather than trying to narrow the purpose to writers only, please recognize the openness of the board.

This forum was created intentionally for those who want to complain about writing services. It is a pretty bad idea to make a conclusions basied only on negative feedback. "Audiatur et altera pars".

Which is why some people on this site post useful things like evidence and logical arguments.

One of the main reasons that these situations continue to arise for students who order their papers is that they do not bother to investigate the reputation of a company prior to hiring their services. If they had bothered to check for comments and reviews first, then they would have saved themselves the bother of having to complain an decry the treatment they received from the company. There is a saying that goes "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". The same applies to finding the essay writing company to complete your work. Make sure they are reputable and can complete the task they are being hired to do before you shell out any cash of agree to hire their services.

Basically, if you don't want to be disappointed by the essay writing company you want to hire, then don't be complacent. You need to make sure that you are hiring the best service that your money can buy. So ask around. Don't just rely on their website information or assurances you get via email, chat, or phone call from the company. They are meant to convince you to hire their services.

Yes, asking around is good, but I'm an advocate for getting some type of live interaction. It's too easy to slap some text on a website or in a post online. Even the worst company can hire someone to create compelling content to lure unsuspecting clients. Anyone who's been a member here for even a little while knows that, while frustrating, the predators are plentiful in this industry. A few pointers:

--Getting the writer or company rep on the phone is a good start. If they don't have a phone, I'd be cautious. No posted phone doesn't mean a company isn't legit, but it is something to give reason to research them further. A call lets you know the language spoken (or fluency thereof) and it gives you a chance to ascertain their knowledge with what you need. Not all reps are writers, but they should have enough knowledge that they can answer the majority of questions you will have before you place an order.

--Chat (also an alternative if there's no phone listed) is good to get an idea of how the rep responds to questions (i.e. what is the rep's speed in replying and how accurate is the grammar?).

Live calls and chats give the rep no time to tweak their response. Email is okay for use after the initial call/chat, but as an intro, it doesn't let you know who you're dealing with. Not that any method is 100% accurate, calls and live chats will help.

Since this 8-year-old thread has been resurrected, I'll offer this response:

The short answer to the OP's question is that they're so disappointing simply because their entire "business model" is based on ripping off new customers and on the assumption that their advertising and SEO will always generate enough new, first-time/last-time customers to sustain their business. They're rip-off artists and no different from rip-off artists in myriad other industries. They're doing the same thing in the cyber realm as rip-off home contractors who take payments from homeowners to repair their homes, disappear with their money, and then incorporate as a new contracting company as soon as a few ripped-off customers start pursuing complaints and claims against them. The major difference in this industry is that many of them operate from abroad where they're relatively safe from the reach of US laws.

It's just how the world works, unfortunately. There will always be unscrupulous parties in most industries. The risks are higher for a newbie, as students well-versed with a variety writing services have already figured the reliable options. I'd suggest doing one's own thorough vetting of any considered site. EssayScam is the best place to start.

From what I can tell, there is no real recourse for scammers operating from foreign countries, regardless of the source. That is to say, this problem is not limited to the US alone, it's present in every state. This industry just happens to be the most developed in English speaking countries, primarily the US, and to a lesser extent the UK, Canada, and Australia, so the proclivity for scams seems to be the highest. Moreover, it's not likely that a scammer operating from Africa or Asia will know Swedish, French, or Spanish to the same degree as they do English, which creates an objective obstacle to the same types of scams being committed by foreigners in those respective markets.

Depending upon where the writing company is located, the company may or may not have the best interest of the student at heart. They are in the business of writing papers. Though they do not specify the quality of the papers they produce and what the students can expect from them aside from unlimited revisions. The banner service of the company regarding prices and revisions are normally the first indicators that the company will deliver disappointing results. Students who know that they should get their money's worth from the writing company will know how to investigate first, hire last. Anybody who looks for the bargain writing company right off the bat, then doesn't look into the services, will get what they deserve. Disappointing results.
