Do you mean the policy in which the company immediately REFUNDED the customer AND let the customer keep the paper for FREE, even though it wasn't directly the company's fault?
That should be obvious and the right thing to do. If you didn't refund the customer would do a chargeback anyway.
Regarding a policy, I mean the fact the company is not disclosing,
in a prominent area, that the "custom essay" will be put up for sale for everyone to see and buy after 6 months. Small print or TOS text doesn't and shouldn't do the trick.
The customer clearly stated "6 months," which is longer than an entire college semester.
Ah, so if a college semester had 3 months the company would decrease the number from 6 months to 3 months. :( Pretty obvious how the company is proactively trying to undermine the educational system.
