academia-research reward points

I have been accruing a lot of these "reward points" on AR. when I ask admin about them, they say that the points are used to assign preference in giving orders (I already skip the bidding system by going Premium) and to move writers to Premium (I already am).

so, are they useless to me? probably. but, I've seen people complaining elsewhere that reward points were used, or withheld from being used, relative to bonus pay.

so, I was wondering-- has anyone with direct experience writing for AR, who has received reward points from them, ever gotten any extra pay for them? or are the points just for prestige?

thanks in advance for keeping the polemics in check for once (yeah right...)

My friend asked AR the same question in relation to the reward points and was initially told that reward points would equal more pay, however they have never received any extra remuneration, and, like you my friend is a premium writer and has been for over 2 years. It would appear that the reward points are useless

Reward Points for WritingAcademia-Research on rewards:

"-The best writers of year will be rewarded! There will be special bonuses for the writers who achieved maximum number of rewards this year. Once the financial year is closed we will go through each writer's profile, and those of you who received 15 rewards or greater will get bonus for their hard work and great cooperation with us. Please note that the bonuses will be added after New Year, once all the operations will be covered and closed."

Financially, rewards are supposed to translate into 1) higher CPP when the customer who gave you the reward comes back for a second order and requests you as the writer; 2) end of year bonuses; and 3) bonus extra pay for the order which you were given a reward on.

Apart from this one time, however, ... nothing.

"Dear xxx

We are happy to inform you that you have been granted a bonus due to the fact that you have reward, the bonus you have been given is $44.00. This is just a small sign of our appreciation of your hard work and dedication; we hope that this token will encourage you to keep up the hard work.

Regards,

Administration"

How many orders does AR get during the peak season and how does one become "premium"? Their admin controlled bidding system (it is admin controlled, right) seemed to suck when I applied from them in the off-season two years ago.

I'll be keeping my expectations low, but it's vaguely reassuring that sometimes they give cash incentives, rather than this other BS.

during peak season, there are more than enough orders to go around. the bidding system does suck, but you can just snatch orders with no lag-time, once you're premium. I got to premium by getting 10 reward points and asking admin when I would be made premium-- the next day, I was. you get reward points when a customer is happy with your order, but you have to draw admin's attention to it-- they don't do surveys.

I'd be a lot more motivated to take orders for AR if reward points had an established cash value. it's potentially a good performance incentive, but they're under-utilizing it.

my friend got more than 15 reward points but still no bonus.

as for the returning customer thing... my friend has had SEVERAL such orders and never once had any bonus or price per page increase, in fact, on one occasion, the returning customer had been told by admin that because they were a returning customer they could have the paper written for $5 per page when previously they had paid $9 per page. My friend refused the order, especially as it was a 40 page disertation piece, and the customer complained. Admin begged my friend to write the piece which she eventually did when the price per page was increased to $11 per page.

Yes - there was often a tremendous disparity between supposed "policy" and actual practice ...

so it appears to be.

here is the party line:

"Dear Writer!

The reward points are not useless to you - there is also a first class writer status that gets higher CPP then the premium. And they do matter if you want to get there. Regular writers get lower CPP then the premiums, so your rewards are already embedded in the CPP you see.

Sincerely
Vinny"

I don't believe any of it, from the first sentence.

Hello all,

Again w.r.t my post: essayscam.org/forum/wc/fraud-galore-academia-research-1287/4/

I am just making it visible on all academia-research threads as I really need feedback on how to deal with the situation

I earned multiple reward points for my assignments, infact the same customer gave me work thrice, which made me eligible for 20% bonus on each order! Redundant to say that I never did get the bonus, on the other hand was slapped huge fines of $789 for an order which was priced $120 and $12 both of which I had reward points for!!!!!!!!

I would really like to know how to retrieve my dues??

Distressed

you should have read this thread-- we have established that reward points have no cash value, and any cash reward system at AR is arbitrary. since the last writing, I did receive a cash reward-- $30 or $40-- but I was told it was partial credit for an order a customer disputed. I still haven't earned a cent from reward points, in and of themselves.

a $12 fine here and there is par for the course at AR-- which is why they should give inverse-angle financial rewards-- but I have never heard of a $800 one-- what was the reason they gave you for such a massive fine?

I quit on a-r after my rewards were over 20, I was about to become premium and they then slapped me in May-July with fines totaling over $500. That's a lot of pages for free to have been around for the rush in the fall.

Nope. There are no bonuses given at the end of the year to the high rewards result writers. That is just a scam they use to entice the writer to sign up with them and cooperate when unfair revision requests are made. It isn't even true that they use the points system for the promotions because I know of horrible writers at that company, who manage to make it to writer first class. Something that I found insulting considering the fact that as a newly minted (at that time) writer first class on my part, I knew I had the best writing abilities of all the writers in their pool. So to have the worst of their kind ranked at the same level as I was made me puke. That was when I stopped going after the rewards points. I wasn't getting any bonuses from the company, they took a cut of the tips my clients gave me for a job well done, and they promoted writers whose English skills were almost non-existent.

In other words, you can forget about getting any rewards from AR that can help to increase your writer status in the future. The way that they have the system set up now, it is the admin that actually rates you, not the clients. The worst part, is that they give you 5 positive scores then successively give you 7 negative ones. When you only worked on 5 papers for them during the current writing cycle. There was a time when AR was actually a pretty decent company to write for. However, the company could never seem to stay in the hands of a single owner long enough for the writers to actually get any benefits from the job. Each change in ownership meant more writer privileges taken away and more fines and penalties imposed. AR is out for only one thing these days, keeping the payments for themselves. They will pay the writers, but only up to a certain extent. The published rate for the order? That isn't valid. What is valid, is the payment they decide to give you after you have submitted the paper hoping to receive full payment. Don't waste your time. My friends are slowly leaving that company. They are waiting to receive money owed to them before they finalize their departure though.

It sounds to me like @Smiley73 used to work or still works for Academic Research. This is excellent insider information that other writers thinking of signing up with AR should consider. I have managed to absorb a few of the first class writers of this company and the horror stories they tell me about makes me sick. They never did get any cash rewards from the company even though it was promised to them when they signed up. They had already been working for some time before they discovered that the promised cash rewards were replaced with reward credits that help towards the advancement of their writer status. Guess what? The writers prefer the reward credits in cold hard cash. Who doesn't? Since the company seems to also control the rewards credit system, it was really difficult for the writers to earn enough stars to advance to the next level. Why? Advancing the writer's rank means they would have to pay the writer a higher CPP. Something that these greedy people always try to avoid. Based on the nightmare lives of my writers at AR, I learned how to treat them well and deliver on my promises. In exchange, I got their loyalty and excellent writing quality at all times from my writers.

Based on insider information, it appears that the rewards points are more useful for the writers who have not yet gotten a promotion at AR. The rewards are meant to help them get more access to higher priced orders. The star system is what they use to promote the writers all the way up to first class. Once a writer reaches the ultimate status, which is first class, then the rewards system is no longer useful to them. There are no more promotions to be had and the writer already has complete access to all orders, regardless of rate or paper type. So yeah, the rewards points are useful, but only up till the premium writer position. After that, it won't matter anymore.
