Hi!

studyhood.com

Has anyone been paid by them or received adequate writing service (I mean students)?

They look genuine but are they really?

Any related experience that can bring home the facts?

Thank you and best wishes,
Ekta

I have done work for Marinos Mak. He doesn't get much UK work but when he does he pays really well.

He's a very nice guy and often texts me when he gets some work he wants doing. I know he's still around as he emailed me 2 days ago with an essay request.

If you like I'll text him for you and prompt him to reply to your email.

Study HoodStudyhood may be a non-genuine site run by either Russians or Greeks who try to confuse the students by making them think that they are dealing with a UK registered company.

The domain name has been in existence for 13 years but does not rank highly among the search engines (it ranks among the 3 thousands). It also uses free services by Yahoo that are masked to the students. There is nothing about this website that says it is a reputable employer that will treat the writers properly or pay them a fair wage. They also mainly offer translation services and they don't specialize in student research.

The company has its server located somewhere in Greece even though the UK address points to an existing location. That existing location does not translate into an actual office space because it seems to be located in a commercial rather than business district. Registered to Gyron Internet Limited as a domain name, there is no way of verifying any data coming out of this website. Therefore, it would be best for writers not to apply for any type of position at this company. Translators may have better luck. Besides, the service seems abandoned and the website is not SSL-secured. The good news is that Greece is located in the EU so they have proper laws regarding the services they provide.

The overall appearance and feel of the website seems more like a Word handout sheet than a company's main page. I read through their TOS after the "about us" page said nothing about the company (it only reiterates its services). The TOS page says, "This Web Site is controlled and operated by Studyhood, Giannaki Demetriou, 8250, Pafos, Cyprus, telephone +357 26911400." What strikes me as odd is this (apart from their obvious lack of writing skills):

(g) A guarantee of 500 Euros is applied when a Client detects any plagiarism in the work ithas been supplied by Studyhood - the definition of plagiarism is taken to constitute any act where work has copied.

(h) Studyhood provides that any Client that detects plagiarism as defined above will be awarded 500 Euros.

(i) Studyhood agrees that if any Tutor responsible for any plagiarism offense fails to award the 500 Euros compensation, that they will assist the Client by providing a copy of the Tutor's contract and their name and address for the Client to bring any remedial action directly.

This concerns me. I doubt that they would actually give 500 euros ($580.44 USD as of today) AND refund the full order amount paid, unless they do not pay their writers as agreed and have the extra $$. I also wonder how many of their writers/translators/whatever were told their order was refunded when it really wasn't.

There's not a page on their site that doesn't scream RUN, RUN!

Although the domain name is currently for sale, it is still connected with a company that runs around in the academic writing business. I believe it is truly a questionable company though since it changed ownership 16 times in its 13 years of existence. That means it changed ownership every year. That makes it an unstable business which more than likely had problems in paying their writers. Due to the constant change in ownership and payment policies that is. When the record of a company is as spotty as this one, it would always be best for students and writers to steer clear of it. I can't even get a clear ownership record for this company anywhere and I've been trying over several days to come up with something. All I could come up with so far is that it changes servers 14 times over the past 15 years. It is an extremely hard to track company which tells me they are up to no good.

The domain name is no longer for sale but, it is not active either. It is owned by a company but does not connect to a server at the moment. So I am not sure what game this company is trying to play. Will it eventually come back to life within the same line of business? Or, will it go the AI way like the other academic companies? Nobody can really tell at this point. I just hope that they do not continue to con the students once they decide to resurrect the business and the site.
