A close friend of mine, who has been working there is the last one to be cheated out of nearly $500. I will post the complete details after getting it from her.

My friend, writer number 22957 was writing orders 255829 and 254922. She is unable to write these huge orders now, as there is no guarantee that she will get paid for the work. She has written half of each order and has sent to the customers. She has already done the research for the remaining dissertation. I will give more details and I hope that this would be another eye-opener for any student or writer who has planned to use Academia.

If there are writers in this forum who work for ACADEMIA RESEARCH, please be careful and come out NOW. They act swiftly. My friend was assured this morning that her payment will be sent on 23rd and after two hours, the above story happened. The writers can't do a thing in retaliation.

I heard that they have only very small 10 orders on hand and that means, they will cheating all the writers.

Please students, look for better companies.

She completed an essay of 15,000 words (I have pasted it on another thread) for which they were supposed to pay her $300 and the client has accepted it. Simply wanted her to put the chapter numbers, which she did. She feels that the client has taken it and gone and the Admn, without giving any reason, gave her a fine notice of $150, removed the essay from COMPLETED ORDERS. That means, she has lost $300 and has to pay a fine of $150 and essay was gone. No, they did not fire her. They had given another two essays of around 12000 words each. She simply left. Mak, there is no point in trying to retaliate. They are so thick-skinned and they are doing it every day. This particular friend of mine has been in financial difficulties trying hard to collect money for the fees. She has lost nearly 22000 wors as she has already given half essays for the other two and another completely finished essay. It is all so very sad.


I was treated shabbily by them long ago. I was unaware that this friend had been writing for Academia. If I had known, I could have advised her otherwise. Academia and Project1st class offer jobs immediately and the new writers fall for it, just like how I did!

Academia-research have more writers that do not have a good command of the English language = dissatisfied customers. They will, for example, charge the customer 300.00 for a paper but only pay the writer 120.00 and then fine the writer on flimsy reasons.

Think they were paying you rather well. Once I was writing a revision paper for $90 or so, and the student complained that despite paying more than $1000, he/she could not receive a reasonably well-written paper from the previous writer!!

Too bad! its good that I did not joint this organization. I did send them the test essay but they never replied back. Asked Angelina several times but she said she did not get a chance to look into my test essay. What a unprofessional attitude. I will never appy there again considering the feedback I am getting.

This is the usual story of this company. We were all cheated by them at one point or other. Such a nasty, self-serving, unethical and unkind company - still, I must say, it is better than Project1stclass. At least they pay a pittance for a few months. Please don't remind me of these two disgusting entities.

Wait.. did you receive any payment at all from them? Are you saying that you kept working for them for two years without getting paid? I considered working for them as well but their system was too weird.

The owner of Academia research is Dmitrij Popov - the one who owns essay-911.com. The vast majority of writers are Ukrainian and Russian. They always pay in time, but there are huge fines, poor treatment and payment rate is not more than 4 dollars per page

I am a writer at academia-research.com. I don't know why you all are not satisfied with academia. I have been working there. Thanks God, I did not visit this forum before registering or I had left such an oppurtunity. Although my first income was late. I had almost stopped working on my projects. But I got it just after two days with an apology. Moreover, my last payment was made to me two days before the specified date. It is indeed difficult working there but the support team is so nice and polite. Everything is very fine. I am working happily. Although they have strict measures, they use to check completed projects, yet their CPP is very high. Most of the freelance sites offer costs of 1-5 dollars per article. But, academia indeed satisfies its writers with indeed high payments. My first month's income was over 200 $. And I worked only on about 10 projects of two or three pages each. I am glad working there. Moreover, they have now reformed their fines policy. They are very helpful. The most important thing I liked is that the projects are granted, not by the customers, but by the academia itself, on strict merit basis. You don't need to worry about cost and time. All is set by the academia. It is sure for everyone to get a project there(if one is abled). I have tried other sites like elance, freelancer.com and I did not get even a single project there. My advice is that you should not leave a good career at academia, only if you are a good writer. If you are poor, you will indeed face fines and strictness.

people are dissatisfied because they hire people like you for writers. Your English isn't bad for a foreign speaker, but it still has a lot of issues. The company also outright scams a lot of its customers and writers, according to other posters here.

I did talk about the topic. You asked why customers and writers were dissatisfied with the company. The answer is because they hire and promote ****** writers like you. Case closed.

I worked with them about a year ago. I am still waiting for my payment. Maybe they have changed since then, but beware just in case.

Considering the grammar that was used to construct this post, I can understand why AR decided to withhold your payment. The plagiarism accusations may have been on the level considering the letter that the OP wrote made my eyes bleed. There are times when AR actually does apply the fining and penalty system upon a writer based on fair and just accusations. Normally, a plagiarism accusation is accompanied by an actual plagiarism report, which the writer can refer to. Also, there are instances when the QAD asks the writer to reduce the percentage of plagiarism prior to the final submission to the client. I don't think that this poster is telling us the whole story. As a previously AR connected writer who had plagiarism problems with the QAD once in a while, I knew that all I had to do was change the presentation of the supposed plagiarized portions and the paper would go through, be delivered, and after two weeks, I would see payment. I know I sound bitter about AR most of the time but I will be fair to them when I know that the whole story is not being told. I will always call a Spade a Spade.

I have heard through channels that the company is no longer trusted by students so the order list for their writers are very thin, with their server sometimes showing no academic orders at all. Which is why they have now shifted gears and gone into the copywriting business. Rumor has it that the problem they now have with the writers is that they have implemented a policy of "pay the writer now, fine the writer for the same orders next time".

What that means is, the writer can expect a windfall of a salary for the first month, then, due to "quality issues and revision policies", they can expect to have to payback the same amount or more (plus penalties) to the company who claims they have to "refund" the client who is unsatisfied with the work (that was already paid for) so they have to "apply a penalty" on the writer of up to 150% the cost of the order, to recoup costs.

I am wondering why their writers put up with this con. They must not be any good anyway if they feel that they can't move on to a better company or become freelancers themselves.

Academia Research has lost more than a majority of its writers. They are now in the hiring process after their writers basically resigned en masse. They have tried to get their reliable writers back by posing as a new writing company and sending unsolicited emails to these writers. The email introduces the new company and asks the writer to take a test if he is interested in working for the new company. They don't realize that the writers recognize the con already and will never go back to working for them. They have a pretty neat network in place wherein they work independently and pass orders off to one another during the season. Working as a truly independent writing group that supports one another when it comes to finding clients and getting jobs. These writers will never go back to AR.
