If you actually believe that the writer and not the company stole your money, you're an idiot. The company is feeding you a bunch of bulls-i* so they can keep your money--I am willing to bet that they "fined" the writer of this order, if they ever actually assigned one.

Perhaps your right. They did assign the writer. Strangely enough, when the first writer failed the money was immediately transferred to writer two. They told me they contacted their attorney as to how to proceed . What do I do? How is it they refund some customers...I notice smaller amounts.. but those of us with larger purchases aren't refunded. They told me they would have to "pay you out of our money" They keep feeding me new lies and excuses to wait or just ignore my emails. What would you do? I paid with paypal and it's been over the 45 day period because they fed me lies for that long. So I can't even dispute this.

[Moved from]: Do you get paid before or after completing an order? Questions for any writers on this site.

If you are a writer, do you get paid before starting the order or after completing the order?Any of you worked for Essay Academia??

Stop creating new threads (and posting in multiple threads) about the SAME issue and SAME company. It makes it much more difficult for people to follow the story. Plus, personally, it makes me NOT want to help you.

Mod, can you merge his/her posts into the same thread?

The only time I ever do any work before being paid is for the companies; they issue checks monthly. Never worked for EA and don't know anything about them. When it comes to private work, it doesn't even get scheduled on my calendar until the payment is issued, let alone get written before it's paid in full. I got ripped off by a regular long-time customer who asked to pay after delivery one time two years ago and that's the total number of times that will ever happen to me. She used my services for 2+ years and said she was behind on her bills. I did the work and it turned out to be her last 2 assignments that she needed. Got a sob story, excuses, and promises to make good on it as soon as she could. No payment ever came. She even had the nerve to ask if I'd write something for her about a year later if she paid for it in advance.

It simply means they scammed you. It's not their writers but the company that receives all bucks. They fooled you for a specific period so that you couldn't charge back through PayPal. That's it.

Essay Academia

This forum is stuffed with information on this company. Try searching it.

Dude, you got screwed by the company, not the writer. They're the ones you paid, they're the ones that have control over the transaction, they're the ones that (maybe) hired and paid the writer (I still don't think an actual writer was ever working on your order to begin with)--THEY'RE THE ONES THAT SCAMMED YOU. Start a chargeback with your credit card company and move on.

Strangely enough, when the first writer failed the money was immediately transferred to writer two.

How do I make this clear....THE COMPANY LIED TO YOU. There probably wasn't a Writer 1, and there certainly wasn't a Writer 2 with a Ph. D. waiting to take your order. Everything they told you was a lie--everything about transferring the money to the first writer and to the second, everything about trying to get your money back, everything about contacting their attorney, the sob story about needing to pay you back out of "their" money (well, duh, it's "their" "business"!)--LIES. That's how scams work.

Do you understand now?

So I can't even dispute this.

The bottom line - it is hope you have learned a lesson. Don't forget to research/google a bit for a company you're going to place your order with.

Can you specify on how they scammed you? Did they just not write your essay or did they just do a really bad job?

Well, after settling the account, I was not able to reach the operator on the 24/7 chat facility they offer and the customer services phone number in the UK connected straight to voicemail and the US one did not even have a ringtone. So I asked for a refund and was told to wait for 48 hours as there were going to write the 6000 word essay in a flash and deliver it in 48 hours instead of 10 days. I refused the offer and insisted on a refund which they agreed on.

Shortly thereafter, I have received an email from a fake 'paypal' email address confirming the refund. By this time I was very mistrustful and googled the 'paypa'ls' email address and found out that it was indeed a fake email using PayPal's logo and everything else. Will try my luck with PayPal and see what happens...

Show PayPal the fake email, too. They take that kind of thing very seriously.

It's a scam site. This should have been obvious from sentences such as "There are over 200 retired professors and other expert writers with us to look after your writing requirements"

I know what you mean! Received a lot of dodgy emails, especially from parts of the world where English is not even their native language. However, there is always a good apple in a basket of bad apples. Thanks for your concern though.

The company gave him 20 days to give the money back

That is not true. The company was the one that decided not to give you back your money. The companies have a clear 15-21 hold time on payments to allow for situations of chargeback claims, fining situations, and basic refunds. The writer was penalized for the errors in the work that he submitted to you for sure. However, returning the money to you is the job of the company that had a hold on that payment from the start. It is the company, not the writer that conned you. The company was merely using the poor writer as a scapegoat.

Do you get paid before or after completing an order

The writer is assigned to the order with only an idea of what the total payment might be. He is not immediately paid. There is a whole process behind receiving the amount involved. First, the writer uploads the completed order and the payment is then floated until after the QAD check. Second, the client downloads the paper and the amount is credited aspending in the usiteis account for 2 weeks. He is only paid in full if no chargebacks are filed within the timeframe. Even companies that payout "weekly" do so only for orders that have already been cleared for the previous 2 weeks.
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.
