Math homework scam

Okay so big eye roll at myself but I took on 5 classes this semester (2 of them being math classes because it's a "support" class), and I have to work which sucks. Anyways, I responded to an account after tweeting about needing help with math (my mistake) and then a user offered assistance. They were persistent and gave me a good deal of 4 of my assignments for $50. They kept asking me if they could help me again and I just would give sort of a non response or no. So I get a dm of an "nda" that I need to pay $175 for an nda fee to not store my info in their database and I'm ignoring them so of course they emailed my school email. Yeah so I'm not responding but I am scared they're going to contact my teachers but I also think these people are amateurs and they're saying that they have lawyers and work with the FBI lolol. So I called my fbi field office and they told me not to respond and sent me to ic3.gov lol so yeah um I doubt anything will come of it but hope I'm not reported.

You prevented yourself from kneejerk reactions to the scammer. You followed a logical path to shut them up. You obviously know what the academic laws are in your area and you used it to your advantage. Well done. I hope more students will read what you have posted and actually use these information to help protect them from the damage that they could cause themselves by not knowing that scam actors and blackmailers do not have any real power over them and their academic future.
