OK, so we have thus far established that the owner has published egregious lies concerning the age of the 3-month-old site. (That's quite illegal, folks.) We have also established that the owner of the site is purportedly an apple pie-eating, All-American chap by the name of "Jeffery Wilson" who has written papers for 6397 students since 2003 (actually, since July of 2009 . . . busy guy, hah?).

Wait, now I'm even more confused, because the owner has published information elsewhere-on the same site-that contradicts his previous contradictions (LOL!):

It seems one can incorporate a company in Delaware for under $1,000. Better than in the UK where the going rate is 39 GBP!

From where I am standing, I think this goes way beyond scamming - this is unfair competition and a violation of Fair Trade laws. Look at it this way - those of us who are actually answerable to UK or US law have to:

1) pay taxes;
2) update the relevant instititions re any changes made to the company's structure (with us it is the Companies House) and ensure that our records are up to date or we get fined;

3) actually adhere to consumer protection and sales/supply of service laws;
4) respect fair employment laws
5) satisfy our guarantees or else we get into trouble
etc etc etc
It is not just a question of our overheads being much greater than those scammers but it also means that we do not have the freedom to LIE (thousands of writers, countless customers, etc etc) which they do. How many customers are attracted to their sites on the basis of LIES?

Another thing - our rates are higher than theirs because of our overheads and the quality of our writers/researchers - but what do customers know? Masterpapers is in Albany, New York (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and is an American company, just as is any other GENUINLY AMERICAN COMPANY. Do consumers know this? Many do not, so it comes down to chosing between two American companies (joke) on the basis of rates!

Yes - I do believe that the majority are fly-by-night operations and will get bad mouthed out of business (eventually). BUT I really really do not get how supposedly responsible governments are allowing this!

He could have been in existence offline and only launched his formal business 3 months ago via an online presence. It is never good to assume that something is a lie without getting all of the information first. I for one, practiced the business about 2 years after I graduated, formally launching my website only 2 years after graduation. During that time I was already servicing the needs of my student clients at an informal level. So I would like to give this person the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he needs to clarify the history of his company instead so that he isn't accused of lying about his company information.

Mods, why isn't anybody in charge of tracking these site domains for validity ? This is not the first time that a no longer existing domain has been left as an active thread. It is starting to get ridiculous at this point. Where is the sense in warning students about companies that no longer exist?

This company has been out of business for so long that the domain is currently up for sale. That makes all of the discussions in this thread moot. There is no useful information contained herein since the owner in question has already closed shop.

It also appears that there is a lack of interest among the newcomers to the industry with regards to the name. There are no potential takers hence, there is no existing threat to students from this company.
