How to Write a Research Paper

Life through all educational facilities involves assigning different forms of tasks to students. Research papers are a part of assignments issued to students. Research papers call for a learner to spot an area of exploration for investigation and research, analyze the area with the aid of relevant documents, identify a concise question for research, gather primary and secondary sources of information to attempt to answer the research question, and present the case in an elaborate manner. While writing a research paper, the writer must always keep in mind that the paper is scheduled for presentation before an audience and defending the case against detractors. This calls for acquisition of relevant research material and a proper method of presenting one's case.

Research Paper Writing GuideBefore typing a research paper, one must think critically, and evaluate all the bits of information necessary to pursue the research. This is to contribute to one identifying the scholarly materials and secondary literature available for the research question. By going through bibliographies and footnotes, one can have access to vast bundles of information that support the research question. All research questions start with the words "why" and/or "how." An example of a research question could be how does technology affect political development? How do social media influence growth in the education sector? To develop a clear research question, the writer must identify a trend in developments or the reason for the occurrence of a phenomenon. Developing the research question is critical in helping the writer spark the argument.

To write a research paper one must use both the primary and secondary sources effectively in a manner that shows a chronological sequence of events and bandwidth of knowledge from diverse perspectives. Primary sources are direct sources of information from the test subjects such as a written document, whereas secondary refer to other topics related to the research question published. The writer can opt to start from the point of view of the secondary source where the secondary source mentions something regarding the research question. With this, a writer can switch to the primary sources to substantiate their argument. A research involves evaluating a phenomenon from a close range and documenting the procession of events. With the information a writer is able to amass, the writer should be able to present a clear and concise argument with regard to sources of information.

To become an effective researcher capable of writing a high quality research paper, one must use libraries such as internet libraries, scientific libraries, ancient archives, public libraries, organizations, research institutes, political, economic, social, governmental, and non-governmental organizations in the quest to building the argument. The research paper must contain provable facts even if a different person were to conduct the research once more. Research writing involves synchronizing all the facts or collected information based on powerful evidence. Good research considers the two sides of the coin, such as the arguments and counter-arguments regarding the research question. A writer must picture themselves as wondering what they would do if such questions were raised to them. A good research paper expresses this dilemma. The paper must document the weaknesses and the strengths of the arguments and counter-arguments to answer the research question and consider the facts inferable from the case study. The writer must give a chronological description of events and present these facts like their own- in a manner that the account of events differs from a conventional point of view.

The writer must display their facts in a creative and concise manner. All the sources need citing in footnotes, endnotes, and in-text notes using the appropriate citation style. The tone of the research should be prescribed with illustrations such as graphs, pie charts, and tables to support the claims of the research.
