Anything new in the research paper business?

So has anything changed in the recent year about the paper business? Is the statement to stay away from <Ukrainian|Pakistani|Russian|Chinese|Indian|Kenyan|?> companies still valid? Or they improved their operations?

I'm in the IT field and see most of the foreign based services (with a few exceptions) dominate Google search. Is it because of their improved services or because search engine games. I'm asking because the new semester has already started and a professional opinion is appreciated to make an educated decision :p

They have drastically improved. They have all suddenly developed native English writing abilities and honest business practices. They have stopped plagiarizing and they no longer argue with you, give you the runaround and threaten to report you to your school when you call them on their charades. (But, as noted, they no longer do the charades.)

Last time I did business with one of them, they even sent a free Smoothie with my order.

Are you serious? You have some good points, but it's not possible to tell who they hire or if they plagiarize unless you order from them?

I believe he was being sarcastic. My understanding is that Google recently substantially changed their policies and protocols in ways that you (as an IT expert) would understand much better than I do. Briefly, they implemented a program called Penguin-II that now penalizes some of the very practices upon which many essay companies used to rely very heavily to boost their rankings by having numerous different sites that all linked back and forth to one another in various ways.

To answer your question about something I know much more: You cannot really know what kind of quality (or originality) you'll get from any new writer or company until you try them out with a small order to limit your potential losses and then check the work for both quality and plagiarism.

Yes, good point and you are correct. Many of them still rank well despite the algo change. That's why I've been wondering if it had something to do with their (better?) service. Obviously Google cannot know if their services improved, but maybe there is some human factor involved.

check the work for both quality and plagiarism.

That's another good advice (and advice to other students - never order very urgent projects since 50% of them tend to be plagiarized ;P. By the way, here is a good link to create animated essay service videos in case someone's interested: professorjosh.com/?p=4322.

Hmm ... I'm not sure, but the Smoothie was good.

Academic BusinessWhat is the current status of the 'academic research industry' from SEO / online business point of view? Here are my random thoughts:

- The foreign websites (mostly from Cyprus => Ukraine) have gone wild with creating literately hundreds of new websites. It's an old trick in the hopes to try to camouflage the low quality with high volume. But it's also easy to spot - when a website hasn't been mentioned here it means it's brand new / disposable. They have also created dozens of fake review websites (for example: omnipapers and google.com/search?q=related%3Aomnipapers.com) on which they post fake video testimonials and fabricated reviews of academic paper services.

- The same foreign entities have hacked literary hundreds of websites (mostly outdated Wordpress-powered ones). They didn't shy away from hacking university (.edu) and government (.gov) websites, either. The end result are thousands of pages that are still indexed in Google / Bing that are redirected to their own services (for example, speedypapers.com, superiorpapers.com.DND studybay.com, essaybox.com). I'm sure Google/Bing have noticed that already and I would not be surprised th FBI / NCA has an ongoing case against these criminal activities.

- I have also noticed they have been trying to neg-SEO this site by pointing over 1.4 MILLION of fake links. It's not likely to work because the site has good reputation / link profile, but it should be monitored.

- I hope the Panama Papers will wake up the EU bureaucrats and they will finally notice that criminals from the East Europe use EU-countries like Cyprus, Malta, or Greece to formally register a business, but it is just a cover-up for them to commit online crimes.

For an unknown to me reason, some 'business owners' think it's possible to buy reputation through spamming and hacking. At best, it may have a short-lived effect and within the next couple of years such sites, built solely on marketing gimmicks, will not be worth the domain registration cost. A lot of students may be naive, but they are not stupid; they can spot fake reviews as easily as most of the forum members here.

In truth, Google still advertises the writing companies on their site. Although they promised the academic world that they would no longer work with these writing companies, they still do. They still accept paid advertising from these companies. Facebook and Instagram, even YouTube has made things worse by allowing these fly by night companies to hold profiles in their companies that allow them to better promote their services. They are not vetted or fact checked by the companies (I think that only applies to politics) which is why they have proliferated in the social media scene since Google first pretend to ban the companies from advertising on their site.

The business model of the research paper business has been permanently altered by the emergence of Artificial Intelligence. The writing companies are investing heavily on the development of their Ai writing department in an effort to augment their income. Academic writing as a human occupation is being challenged by these AI writing models which learn as the students use them. Unfortunately, these cannot learn fast enough so the students cannot really use them for their writing needs in the same way that they can use a human writer. While I was hoping that AI writing was only a fad, it appears that it is here to stay so the human writers will have to fight to remain relevant in the business.

When ChatGPT first came out in 2022, it immediately affected essay companies and freelance writers adversely, because so many students jumped to use it as a free alternative to paying anybody for their essays. It took about a year and a half for students to find out -- the hard way, in the form of D's and F's, as well as accusations of having violated academic honor codes -- that AI can't be relied on for academic essays worth using.

Now, the biggest problem presented by the availability of AI in the context of this industry is that, in addition to the other known risks associated with finding a legitimate honest provider worth using, students also have to worry about "writers" who use AI, themselves. Obviously, the only thing worse than getting an unusably bad free essay by using AI yourself is paying your hard-earned money, just for someone pretending to be a "writer" to use AI to generate that same unusably bad essay, whether in direct transactions with customers or by providing AI-generated work to the essay companies for which they work.
