@teachersdontteach
This is the exact same thing that happened to me, and I did not submit any of their words. Still, they are threatening me that they will directly send it to my school, saying that I did academic misconduct. They have destroyed my last six months.

These blackmailers will use fake stationery to make it appear that they have filed charges against you through proper channels. They will even have an acknowledgement of the complaint to send to you. Ignore it. They are not knowledgeable enough about the way the UK educational system works. They make mistakes in the letterhead, address, department names, among others. Dead giveaways that they are trying to run a scam by you. Just send their mail direct to spam and set the antispam and unknown number caller settings on your phone.

@teachersdontteach what happened in the end? They did something or not?

@Mirax1: He ended up using me for his 4,500-wd project, but, as I said in the other thread in which you posted, it's probably not in your (or his) best interests to continue discussing the details of your situation on any public forum. You already did the right thing by posting the blackmailer's website and email to warn other potential victims, but you should continue any further discussion of the details more privately. However, that's probably not even necessary, because if you just use the search function here for the word "blackmail," first, chances are very good that any possible question or concern of yours has already been addressed many times, and in quite a bit of detail in numerous old threads. Briefly, just ignore any and all future attempts at communication from him, block him on every medium through which he contacts you, don't even consider paying any ransom or (especially) confessing to your institution and/or asking them for assistance, and report the incident using the appropriate link provided in those other threads to US or UK law enforcement authorities, as appropriate.

Admin: Why does the quote function not work?

They did something or not?

Not. They did not do anything because the student knew better than to let them scare him into submission. Also, students who resolve the situation successfully prefer not to talk about what happened after out of fear that the situation might be reopened and they would have to deal with it all over again. Confirm the information that FreelanceWriter provided above. DM the student directly and talk about it. Keep the information to yourselves.

Hey, I'm facing a similar issue where they are asking me to pay for the copyrights of the assignment and received a similar mail as posted in this thread. Would like any input if they actually act upon the threats.

The short answer is no. The much more detailed answer to (probably) every other related question you could possibly have should be found in these threads, in addition to Posts # 39, 41, 62, 64, 68, 70, 75, 79, and 85, above, right in this thread.

No worries. They cannot act on the threats since they are an illegal company acting in a criminal manner in your home country. These are empty blackmail threats that they use on students, who often pay up out of fear that they will be reported to their school. Forget the threats. Send it directly to spam and never think about it again. They can only win if you actually try to negotiate with them so don't do that.

I've received quite a few direct emails from forum readers who don't seem interested in the best and easiest answer: Never respond to the first demand, immediately block every means of contacting you, drop a warning about the company or writer by name on this forum, and then stop posting about it and (seriously) just forget about it.

If you think that something specific about the transaction or the threats or about other particulars of your situation make it atypical or even unique, I can almost guarantee that's not the case and that all of your questions about it are already answered in one or more of the older threads linked in my previous post in this thread.
