Hi all,

My name is Josh, I'm currently coming to the end of my MA in Broadcast Journalism. For my final project I'm making a 30 minute radio documentary on the topic of websites like the ones you discuss on this forum.

Graduate JournalistI can tell many of you know a great deal about these websites that 'help' students with their work. I would be really interested to hear from you if you use these websites or if you write for them. I'm looking for first hand experience of what using them is like for those in the UK. If anyone who runs one of these websites would like to speak to me, I'd also be interested to hear from you.

It'd be extremely helpful to speak to some of you who clearly know so much about this industry. I don't need to know your real names, but I'd appreciate the stories and would ideally like to interview some of you.

If you reckon you can help me out, or even if you can just help by giving me some information, please get in touch with me at @gmail.

Who are the biggest players in the UK for this kind of industry?

Also does anyone know anything about student-place.com - has anyone ever used them?

Cheers - hope to hear from you.

PS - thanks for maintaining this great forum where students and writers can connect without borders.

BAD EXPERIENCES OF ESSAY COMPANIES? - CONTACT ME NOW

Hey guys :),

I am journalist investigating essay writing companies. This means I'm looking to know if any student has a particularly bad experience of any essay writing companies.

I am also interested in knowing how many of you would ever consider/have ever submitted an essay from one of these sites as work that is your own. Maybe if you were caught for plagiarism? or the essay you submitted did not match upto the standard you paid for?

If this opportunity interests you, you can either reply to this thread or email me Anonymously at Atomicpu@hotmail.co.uk.

For a journalist, you really need to work on your writing skills. An email address associated with an institution/publication would really enhance your credibility, to..

Whatever your angle is, no one's buying what you're selling.

it's a university newspaper - i don't get paid for this. Hence the unprofessional email address.

That's quite cheeky considering I haven't written the article yet... My speciality is PR related so this is quite an easy topic for me to "sell".

So by "journalist" you mean "undergraduate student that still makes basic errors in syntax and word usage." Thanks for clearing that up.

Yep, that helped. I wonder if all complaints are legit though - I don't think they check each and every case - they just list whoever posts there. Unless I'm missing something.

I tried to go to the student-place.com site and immediately by browser tells me to turn back because of a virus threat. LOL not a good sign. Beware of such foreign-maintained services that damage students minds and computers :(

I know you get really excited every time you catch a typo in someone's post, Herpesbreakout, but even you're not so dense that you can't figure out what he was saying.

The legitimacy of your inquiry was very strong up till the moment that you mentioned a specific website to discuss. That certainly made me stop to think, are you a real student doing an investigative piece or, are you a plant, a con, a company rep, trying to promote your company without getting caught? Perhaps the interest that you have in learning about our experiences while working freelance or our experience as a company affiliated writer is meant more as a method of checking out the competition instead of actually wanting valid information that you can use in your piece. I will admit that I was more than willing to leave you a note regarding my experiences working on both sides of the aisle. I changed my mind when the questions I had made me realize that there might be more to your inquiry than just a student investigation piece. Now, I would rather find out if any members of this forum actually contacted you for your "piece" and what resulted from that. Did any of you have the same misgivings that I did? As for you@Essay investigator, whatever happened to the "piece" ? Care to update us? That's the only way we can tell if you tried to run a con by us or not.

Once again, this thread has a missing ending. Why do these people always post messages, expect some response, then leave the rest of us hanging about what happened next? The way this particular thread ran has led me to believe that neither of the people posing as journalists were actually what they claimed to be. Instead, they were here fishing for information about other writing companies, in the guise of "reporting". They were on the lookout for disgruntled writers who would have spilled the beans on their competition. Perhaps they were hoping to use such information to create negative reviews of the competitor so that they can create believable counter reviews online.

The focus of the academic writing industry investigations these days has shifted from deep dives into the academic writing companies. The educational system is now more focused on preventing students from using Ai to complete their academic work. Most video and radio documentaries now discuss how to prevent the students from relying too much on Ai to address their academic needs. I guess the change in investigation topics is indicative of the changing times.
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.

Professors have come up with at least one other extremely clever foolproof AI detection method that I'm not going to share publicly, but one of the simplest methods is for them to submit their own essay questions to a few of the most popular AI programs and then compare the results to student submissions. Likewise, they can just compare various submissions from different students to identify inexplicable similarities that obviously can't be explained any other way.
