Net Neutrality: Will Repealing of the laws in the US affect essay writing services

This is something I keep asking myself. How will the Repealing of the laws affect education? How will it affect sites that academic writers frequent?

Note: From what I've understood about Net Neutrality the past few months the topic has been tending, it seems that in countries like the one I'm from such laws are non existent and we're at the mercy of internet service providers. Still, we don't face some of the disadvantages talked about by proponents of net neutrality laws. For example, we don't pay separately to access different sites and I don't think that would happen. Another example is blocking social media services. Honestly, based on what we have in this country, I think like popular social media services would be free or almost free without net neutrality laws.

There is always something fishy when the name says one thing and the details say something completely different. Like "Obamacare = affordable" or "Net Neutrality = Confusing." I guess when big corporations like AT&T or Comcast would start slowing services to their customer favorites' websites, customers would leave to their competition that don't slow them down. So the end effect may not be negative. I'm not sure how it would affect essay writing services - would it?

Net Neutrality only affects the users of online streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Warner Archive, and some other online, internet data based viewing services. These are the services that tend to slow down internet access for other "basic" users. The removal of the law will allow the companies to control the online usage of their client's data by throttling the services of high usage networks such as those previously mentioned. Only allowing faster and more appropriate access to speeds for the sites based upon the data allowance and speed plan of the subscriber. By doing this, the net traffic will be freed up for other subscribers and should benefit everyone overall as those who tend to be heavy users will either cut back on their usage (if they cannot afford to pay for higher fees and faster services) or pay for a higher plan (which allows access to these sites) and be classified on a faster network than the others. It's all about commercialism on the web. It won't have any effect on academics. The students and essay writing services will not be affected by the end of Net Neutrality. Rather, it will benefit the academic side as it allows for faster internet access to a large number of "same plan" subscribers signed up with a service provider. Just as everything else in this world, you have to pay for quality and that is what the end of Net Neutrality promotes. The net as a form of entertainment will still be allowed, it will just be better controlled in order to provide fair access (based on ability to pay) to all its users.

Some students on social media were posting fake information that it would cost money just to search on Google or Bing. There's a lot of misinformation related to it.

It appears to me that the Net Neutrality issue just came and went. Nobody really noticed any difference in the way the internet is used. So I guess this was one case of all smoke but no fire. Life goes on for internet users. Covid - 19 poses more of a difficulty to our internet services with outages and modem repairs often going unchecked or repaired by the ISP due to lack of a complete service crew roster.

Net neutrality seems to be a bigger problem in the 21st century as it relates to education. Countries across the world, regardless of their economic status, still struggles with providing reliable internet service to their citizens. Even Starlink is not all it is hyped up to be. It is just an expensive shiny toy. In the US, the data infrastructure is starting to disintegrate and nobody seems to be in charge of fixing it. Yes, there are still states and counties that struggle with connectivity and keeping their state internet structure up and running. Laws are no longer looking into net neutrality these days. I think it has lost all its hype at this point.

Net neutrality laws are still in full effect in the U.S., just no longer at the federal level. Since 2024, net neutrality is entirely subject to state regulation.
