taking exams for someone else

During my time as a writer at various writing companies, it was not uncommon for a student to approach me and
ask him to take his test for him online.
The financial offer was always highly lucrative and I was more than once tempted to help the student out. I found that I always declined work orders like those because of my academic principles and guidelines. I always told the company, I draw the line somewhere when it comes to helping the students.
I will help them with their research, I will help them with their homework, I will help them with their exercises, I will NEVER help them cheat in their exams.
The exams were to be taken online so technically, I really could have pulled it off for them, but my sense of what is right always won over my desire to earn an income.
Yes, contrary to what other students might believe, academic writers have morals. We freelance with a purpose but we have some hard lines that a student must never try to cross. Not taking an exam for them is for their own good, whether they know it or not, admit it or not.
It's not only about morality though; today's technology can detect and record your device and the IP addresses associated with your location. If you allow someone from another country or even continent to log into your student account, the system will be alerted and your professor or advisor may be able to be notified of that.
