Here is my take on student teaching and student privacy.
Reflection and Analysis in Student Teaching: Teaching as a Personal Metaphor

I believe that as a student teacher I am much like the gardener who is responsible for nurturing and encouraging the plants and flowers of a beautiful and diverse garden. As in a garden which contains many different vegetables, fruits, plants, and flowers, the makeup of the classroom is equally varied. My students may come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have different skills and abilities, but they share the common goal of having come to the classroom environment (the garden) to receive the nurturing necessary to shape and stimulate their growth as individuals. It is up to educators to have the knowledge necessary to recognize their unique attributes and provide an environment that encourages students to work with the abilities they have while improving and building upon those skill-sets that need further attention
The gardener must take into account the external environment, protecting the plants and flowers from bad weather, bugs, and other creatures who might try to destroy it. Even something positive, like sunshine, can be too much of a good thing for some plants. Thus, the student teacher must provide guidance for her students, ensuring that the outside world does not have a negative influence upon them. At the same time, the student teacher must give her students room to grow independently so that they may build confidence and self esteem. Plants and flowers are often stronger than some gardeners give them credit for, and do best when they are not over-pruned or watered too much. I believe that when children have supportive teachers who allow them the space to develop their own coping skills, they can flourish as much as any well-cared for garden.
