Essay Services / Essaybay, what do you think? [264]

UPDATE

The guy who cancelled the order was charged £11 to get his money back so Essaybay got £17 off me and £11 off him for absolutely NOTHING.

Looks like a rip off of kasamba website and ebay....

Kasamba ripped me off by never paying me for legal advise. Kept my earnings beloe $50 so it remains stuck in their account

Essay Services / Essaybay, what do you think? [264]

They have finally released the money for the first essay but minus the $35 for the CANCELLED order,so technically I wrote an essay for $123 instead of $158.

This was an interesting experiment and an interesting way of checking out bona fide or not bona fide essay mills.

I guess writing on here as an impact as the money was released soon after my last post. Maybe they will also refund the $35 dollars they charged ME for the CUSTOMER's CANCELLATION!!

The company also charge to raise a dispute and in the particular case I mentioned above where the essay was cancelled by the customer the writer gets charged and I can prove this as I was the writer that was selected to do the work and then the essay was cancelled and ESSAYBAY has put a minus figure on my account. And yes I have contacted you Jennifer to try to resolve the above matter. I did not expect my request to refund the customer because he cancelled would result in you charging me $35 and I still haven't been paid for the one essay I have done for this company.

I refuse to raise a dispute as Rob did as this would cost me to start the dispute. Considering the customer has so far not released the payment the chances are that I would lose another £10 trying to get the money and still end up with nothing

Have any of you out there had any experience of a company by the name of Essaybay.

A friend of mine ordered an essay through essaybay and paid for this through ESCROW. According to the site the buyer deposits money into the ESCROW system and the money is held there until a writer is selected. Once the work is completed the buyer releases the money to the writer.

My friend posted an essay to be written and deposited the money accordingly, he later decided to withdraw the project and write the essay himself. He asked the writer to cancel the payment but the writer could not do this as the cancel payment option did not work as it should. He as asked for his money to be returned and has been told that it is up to the writer to release the money.

Concerned that he was being ripped off I set myself up as a writer and did one project for them. Surprise surpise I cannot access the money that has been paid into the ESCROW account for me and the admin will not answer my emails with regard to rectifying this. I was told that I would have to raise a dispute for having not been paid but to do this I would have to pay admin to investigate the complaint.

It would be interesting to find out if anyone else has tried this company out and whether they too have had similar problems.

esquiva is writing in the past tense stating he/she used to write for paper mills. at the time esquiva started writing he/she might not have known that they were not going to pay properly, that the essays would be submitted as the students own work. I can understand esquiva's iritation with these companies hence the reason I also quit.

When I first applied to become a writer I was told that I would only be writing model answers for Universities. It soon became blatantly obvious that this was not the case and also that the students were submitting the work as their own judging by the requests for minor alterations that a primary school should have been able to accomplish.

I found that I could not condone such blatant cheating and quit writing. I know work as an online tutor as well as part time lecturer and full time barrister.

hypocrisy would be for esquiva to continue writing and taking money from the students as that would show that despite the fact that he/she despises the students that submit the work as their own they are prepared to ignore this just to earn extra money. esquiva states that he/she wrote 3 essays only that is hardly encouraging wide scale cheating and also shows that once esquiva realised that the company was a con and the students were cheats that they decided that their conscience should win over and they should not encourage the chaeting by continuing to write for such companies.

I note that once again you have to resort to insults just because you are challenged on your understanding of the english language. I also find it amusing that you could not resist responding. Julie24963=ignore ha ha and then you go on to insult me in your next post. Hey the phrase 'kettle calling the pot black' comes to mind ha ha didn't you have a go at me when I continued to write when I said I was not going to anymore. Looks like your guilty too!!

I am not and have never claimed that everyone that buys essays submits them as their own. I have pointed out that there are those out there who do and there have been a few on here who have admitted to doing exactly that and then are annoyed that they have been caught and failed their course.

where do you get your figures from of 1-3%? There are no definitive figures nor can there be as it is impossible in some cases to catch those using these services. Even if there are only 3% cheating it is still diabolical especially when you consider the subject areas that these people are studying such as law, medicine etc. How would you feel being operated on by a doctor who got their degree by getting someone else to do the research for them?

julie24963 = IGNORE

Oh please don't ignore me, ha ha! I was so hoping that you would defend the comments that you made that were so obviously wrong

Master PaperDefinition of hypocrisy

WritersBeware: but you represent the epitome of hypocrisy.

WB how do you work this one out

1: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially : the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion

2: an act or instance of hypocrisy

Esquiva states: "Quoting: esquiva I was short of money and wrote three papers for these thieving, cheating monsters."

As you should not esquiva USED to write for the company not STILL writes for them. Esquiva would be a hypocrite if she were still writing for them (see definition above)

I would have thought you would have been jumping for joy since Esquiva is advising against people using Masterpapers.com or is the real agenda that Esquiva makes the point that not doing the work yourself is tantamount to cheating and therefore students should write their own essays not copy someone else's.

Research is defined as:

1: careful or diligent search

2: studious inquiry or examination; especially : investigation or experimentation aimed at the discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of accepted theories or laws in the light of new facts, or practical application of such new or revised theories or laws

3: the collecting of information about a particular subject

How can students claim any of the above if they pay for a custom written paper from one of these paper mills such as masterpapers or ****** and then submit the essay as their own without making any alterations to the piece?

Sorry I didn't come back on last night to repost the stuff about plagiarism in UK. I will do it after work tonight. I had a visit from a mate from University last night who brought round her week old baby and from there on it just went to baby talk, although baby Shannon is just absolutely gorgeous. She is kind of special to me since I introduced my friend to the guy who is now her husband and father of her baby.

Anyway time for work so I will post later

Be this as it may in the UK subjects are taught in terms of what will be needed for that person to pursue their given career and as mentioned above it is highly unlikely that a barrister or law student would ever be required to calculate the SD of any variable.

As I am a perpetual student (my husbands term for me) I am constantly enrolling in new courses in law which would probably bore the socks off most people. I lecture in law on occasion as I enjoy the challenge of imparting my knowledge to others and I also assist at the law school when students are required to practice their negotiation skills as part of their course. Its a bit like acting without having the cameras there (tongue-in-cheek)

By the way I did attempt to post my evidence on student cheating last night (which has been labelled in the UK as contract cheating) but was having technical difficulties with my computer (it kept crashing) and have noticed that the post has not been added. I have saved the websites on my computer and so will repost the evidence after I have cooked tea as the natives here are becoming hostile demanding I feed them.

if you earned a master's or phd and weren't required to take a stats course, then you attended a crappy school, whatever country you live in.

Since when would a barrister ever need to know about SD? It is hardly likely to come up as a question form the judge

'Do you think your clients IQ deviates from the norm by more than one standard deviation?'

I can really see a judge uttering that (not)

Maybe in the US SD is taught as part of the curriculum. In the UK it would only arise if you were taking a subject such as A level Maths or Psychology or Chemistry none of which are required elements to study law. Law graduates tend to do A levels in English and History as these are usually required to be able to get a place at university.

I guess also it depends on how long ago you were in education as I completed school quite a long time ago before the advent of GCSE's. At least I was honest enough to admit my lack of knowledge of SD. I did not pretend to know anything on the topic and was merely posting based on the information supplied by my daughter who does know about this topic.

Actually it was her idea that I should post not mine and I hardly think that at 19 she is a child. As for me taking any legal action against you this has never happened and I was merely cautioning you against defaming me, though I would hardly waste my time in bringing such an action for a mere comment on an internet site. That was what you might class as a gut reaction to the accusations that I was a liar etc.

I was not attempting to suggest that Margie was telling the truth about how long an MA would take to complete I was merely pointing out that different countries have different timescales for these courses to be completed in and that in the UK a newly graduated student is allowed to teach other undergraduates.

stop reading posts at 5 am.

I tend to be on at 5am just before going to work and I find that the best time of the day for reading files for court as my concentration tends to lag by the afternoon as the office becomes very stuffy and noisy when all the other members of staff arrive.

Yes your post does say the collective IQ will increase but then you go on to put BY ONE STANDARD DEVIATION. This is just a flowery way of saying 15 or whatever you are assuming the standard deviation to be. I suppose you think it makes your post look smarter by being able to use the term standard deviation instead it provokes all this angst with people making assumptions that you are stating that the SD will increase.

I did say at my first post on this topic I was not familiar with SD and that my daughter had to explain it to me, and quite frankly it is hardly likely to have an earth shattering impact on my life now that I know what it means and how it is calculated. The point of my post was to highlight the confusion your post was creating by the way in which you expressed yourself. Quite frankly I do not give a fig about the impact of anyone leaving the forum and realise that this was your attempt at humour, however trying to make the post sound more authorative by using the term SD the impact of the 'joke' was missed completely. For posters on here that have no clue about SD they might not have even worked out that you were insinuating that Joey's IQ was 15 until you explained yourself in later posts.
julie24963
Oct 18, 2007

Lavinia

Your post would have been far easier to read if you had stated that the mean IQ of the forum would increase if Joey were to leave. You caused confusion by stating that the IQ would increase by one standard deviation, thereby implying that the standard deviation would alter. This was not just my reading of the way this sounds but also of my daughter who is studying this at Uni. It is also obvious from the other postings on this subject that others have read this as a suggestion that the SD would increase.

Your assumption of an SD of 15 was based on Wechsler and as you have since pointed out other such experts have come up with varying different amounts for the SD in IQ assessments. You also implied in one of your posts that Stanford-Binet used the same formula but have since corrected this in the above post when you state that Binet assumes an SD of 16.

According to Wechsler the mean IQ would not change regardless of the presence of Joey or not as explained in my earlier post. Wechsler assumes a mean IQ as 100 regardless of the number of people tested. Therefore removing one from the test cannot impact on the mean IQ since the number tested has never been specified.

Lavinia

Your comment about a masters degree not taking 3 years to complete may be true in the US however in the UK a masters degree is for 3 years as standard and a PHD is for 5. It is likely that the length of time to complete a degree can vary form country to country. It is possible in the UK to take 5 years to complete an undergraduate degree if you are doing it as a part time student and in the UK once you have passed your undergraduate degree you are entitled to lecture at university so long as you achieved exceptionally high scores in your degree such as a first class degree with honours.
julie24963
Oct 17, 2007

Lavinia

The Wechsler Intelligence Scales do not mention the number of the cross section of the public that is being tested. This would therefore lead to the conclusion that regardless of the number of participants the mean score for IQ would be 100 and that the SD would then be 15.

Using this as an authority for quoting that the SD would increase by 1 if a member were to be excluded cannot follow as the mean IQ of the forum would remain at 100 regardless of the number of participants ergo the SD would remain the same.

Your error in your posting is the assumption that the SD would increase if you removed one element from the equation.

Using the usual method of SD which is effectively the mean of the mean SD would be calculated by working out the mean score of the forum members and then finding the mean of the mean ie the SD. Removing a participant would remove their score from the equation but would not necessarily increase of decrease the SD significantly if at all. It would alter the mean IQ of the forum which is what I think you should have put instead of the SD. I can post the exact equation for the calculation of SD if you would like but it would take a mathematician to be able to understand the formula.

Lavinia

I will post more later but apparently you are wrong on the subject of standard deviation and IQ. MY daughter is doing this precise topic the moment at the university and read your post and said the way that you expressed yourself on the subject of standard deviation was wrong. She tried to explain the way it is calculated to me in the terms of IQ and the formula used to calculate SD but it was 5am in the morning and I really wasn't taking in much she said.

I will get her to come on later and explain were you went wrong according to her books and lecture notes etc. She is at present doing her degree at Hull University in the UK. I don't pretend to know anything about SD since my degree in law did not involve this in any way shape or form. However, my daughter's course deals extensively in SD so she tells me so I will leave it to her to post here later when she returns from Uni later today. As she does not have her own account she will be posting under my user name.

ok just to respond to WB' accusation that I lied... the threat of defamation was against Lavinia not against the moderator. it is possible to bring 2 separate law suits arising from the same series of events.

Why don't you contact the moderator yourself if you are so interested in the complaint that was made though I doubt that they would discuss it with you either.

I was not accusing Lavinia of defamation I was stating that she should be careful of posts that might defame the person they are aimed at.

Anyway I have had more fun watching paint dry then trying to explain the law to those with limited intelligence such as you are displaying. I have no need to explain myself any further and am leaving all future dealings on this issue with my colleague as it is he who is bringing the action on his own behest.
julie24963
Oct 03, 2007

exactly why i criticized you in the first place:

I have taken it up with the moderator privately which is why I haven't posted the details of the complaint. I merely pointed out that due to the impending action I could comment no further on various issues on here.

As for it being my last posting I am not going to stand idly by whilst you attempt to belittle me to try and win points.

I do not claim to be a expert on American or Canadian law but as the case to which you are referring is of no significance in this particular case there was no need for me to read any further into the decision of the court.

As the action would be brought in the UK regardless of the location of the forum or the moderators any action would be subject to English law. Court actions are brought in the jurisdiction of the applicant which in this case would be me, so the forum would have to defend under English law and could not rely on American statutes or Canadian Penal code as it would not be applicable.

Anyway this as far as I am concerned is the end of the matter though no doubt you will continue as WB usually does in making comments in the hope of provoking further comment so that you can then have a go for me responding.

On this occasion I refuse to rise to the bait but would caution you against any comments that might be read as defamatory as I would have no compulsion in including you in the same suit.

it's amazing how adept you are at rewriting ethical rules to suit you.

I just did not see the need on a forum to quote citations as one would do in an essay.

that is defamation, hypocrit. i am quite adept at paying my bills, no need to concern yourself.

Oops I said WHEN instead of IF. This is not defamation as I have NOT accused you of NOT paying your bills.

Quoting: Lavinia criminal coercion?

In English law there is no crime of criminal coercion.

As defined in theModel Penal Code, the offense of criminal coercion consists of "unlawfully . . . restrict[ing] another's freedom of action to his detriment"

by threatening to: (1) commit a criminal offense; (2) "accuse anyone
of a criminal offense"; (3) "expose any secret tending to subject any
person to hatred, contempt, or ridicule, or to impair his credit or business
repute"; or (4) "take or withhold action as an official, or cause an
official to take or withhold action."14 Criminal coercion is thus distinguishable
from extortion and from blackmail (at least in the narrow,
informational sense of the term) in two important ways. First, as
noted, it does not involve obtaining any property from the victim.
Second, it can involve threats to engage in either lawful or unlawful
conduct, so long as it is intended to be detrimental to the victim."[/quote]

By the very definition of the above it could be argued that bringing a law suit against anyone would be classed as criminal coercion and given that the US is one of the main countries were people take out law suits for the most trivial of faults I suspect the definition is much narrower then you are intrepreting it. When any law suit is issued it is by definition a warning to the other party that legal action may ensue. This is NEVER interpreted in law as THREATS and could NEVER be so interpreted as it would mean that the lawyers etc would NEVER be able to bring a law suit against someone.

Threats are interpreted in all law enforcement as actions causing the person to fear for their safety not fear that court action might be taken against them . If your assertion were correct that would mean that all criminals could bring an action against the police for threatening to arrest them if they don't discontinue with their behaviour. Get real!

As for your citation with regard to Barrett v Rosenthal 40 Cal.4th 33, 146 P.3d 510, 51 Cal.Rptr.3d 55 (Cal. Sup. Ct., Nov. 20, 2006) this only applies if the provider of the service has not been given notice of the defamatory comments. Where the provider has received such notice and continues to allow such comments they can have action taken against them

Under the common law, "distributors" like newspaper vendors and
book sellers are liable only if they had notice of a defamatory statement in their
merchandise. - taken direct from the ruling in this case eff.org/legal/cases/Barrett_v_Rosenthal/ruling.pdf

Besides that the action that is being taken is not concerned with defamation anyway so try again!
julie24963
Oct 02, 2007

do you let your students cite like that? truly horrible, pretty much still bordering on plagiarism

Of course I would never allow a citation to be presented in this manner. Get real! I was writing a post on a forum not writing a masters disertation. If you would really like the full citation it is as folows Murphy, P, Blackstone's Criminal Practice, 2007, Oxford. How does that grab you?

so what further action is it? to send the mod a goody basket? i doubt it. you've admitted to everyone reading this that you threatened the mod.

The moderators are well aware of the proposed action. In any form of legal action the protocol that has to be followed is to highlight to the party concerned the claim against them in order to allow their response. 14 days is a standard response time after which it is taken as granted that the person or persons do not wish to respond. It is then up to the person bringing the action to escalate the claim to the next level. That is how a lawsuit of any kind or description works. That is not MAKING threats that is giving the respondent the opportunity to put things right before court action is taken. I guess your one of those people who when you have failed to pay your bills and the company yhreatens legal action against you to recover the amount owing would consider you were being threatened. Live in the real world! If you do something wrong you expect to be punished. The moderators and administrators of this site have a duty to ensure they adhere to the way their forum is used. Failure to do this could mean that they could face civil or criminal proceedings against themselves.

Are you suggesting that every time a solicitor or barrister sends out a letter before action they are guilty of blackmail and threats? That's an interesting theory and one you would have difficulty proving anywhere!

I refuse to continue with this discussion any further as the actions taken by my colleague and I are legitimate and legal and I resent the accusation that my actions are unlawful, that my dear Lavinia is bordering on defamation.
julie24963
Oct 02, 2007

the fact that you felt the need to distinguish between the two proves my point.

I did not feel the need to distinguish I merely wished to set the record straight. Please explain how my dealings with the moderators can be deemed to be blackmail. I have highlighted a problem with the forum which I have suggested that they should deal with as they are risking legal action being brought against them if they do not address the problem. That is not blackmail, that is explaining how they are putting themselves at risk for not moderating the forum in accordance with their own rules and guidelines.

If your going to quote from the theft act include the full wording as found in Blackstone's manual (as used by the police)

Theft Act 1968 s21 , a person is guilty of blackmail if, with a
view to gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another,
he makes any unwarranted demand with menaces; and for this purpose a demand with menaces is unwarranted unless the person making it does so in the belief -

(a) that he has reasonable grounds for making the demands; and
(b) that the use of the menaces is a proper means of reiforcing the demand.

s34(2) Theft Act 1968 defines gain or intent to cause loss as temporary or permanent, in money or other property.

Menaces as described by Blackstones p356

Words or conduct which would not intimidate or influence anyone to respond to the demand would not be menaces... but threats and conduct of such nature and extent that the mind of the ordinary person of normal stability and courage might be influenced or made apprehensive so as to accede unwillingly to the demand would be sufficient for a jury's consideration.

I have not made any THREATS or MENACES to the moderators, and since you do not know the content of the communication sent to them you are not in a position to be able to make such an assertion.

My first definition of blackmail was taken from an online dictionary, the above is taken directly from Blackstone's, which is kind of the barristers bible along with Archbold which is also extensively used.

When it comes to criminal law I can run rings round you as I live, eat, sleep and breath the stuff night and day so challenging me on legal definitions is futile.
julie24963
Oct 02, 2007

julie, your threat of a suit is close enough to blackmail to make it thoroughly distasteful.

The rule of law disallows me from publishing details of the complaint as that would prejudice the case in point. All will be revealed in due course. As stated above the moderators have been asked to respond within 14 days at the bequest of my senior partner and I will be at liberty to discuss this once the outcome of their response is known.

For your information Lavinia blackmail is defined as
' blackmail, in law, exaction of money from another by threat of exposure of criminal action or of disreputable conduct. The term was originally used for the tribute levied until the 18th cent. upon the inhabitants of the Scottish border to provide immunity from raids by Scottish bands. Statutes often treat blackmail as a form of extortion.'

As I have not attempted to exact money from anyone, including the moderators , then there is no blackmail. The action being pursued is not of a financial one and is unlikely to result in any form of remuneration.
julie24963
Oct 02, 2007

Since when did I state I was seeking civil damages? Yet again you make your own assumptions.

I do not need to be representing any third party for the complaint that has been lodged. You are merely trying to guess as to what the complaint is about and I shall leave you to continue guessing.
julie24963
Oct 02, 2007

The complaint has absolutely nothing to do with the assertions you have made against the writing companies, nor is the complaint anything to do with the insults you have lobbied at me. The allegation my senior partner and I have made is of a much more serious nature and it is precisely because it is a public forum that our complaint can be elevated through the court procedure should the moderators refuse to deal with this matter.

I had hoped to persuade you to discontinue your attack on people such as Joey by asking you to treat people more respectfully, but as I failed in this quest I felt it necessary to highlight the laws being broken by this forum to my senior partner who advised me to contact the moderators to make them aware of the situation.

Until I receive instruction from the moderators as to how they propose to deal with these matters I will continue to monitor posts on here but not respond.

julie, it amazes me that everytime i have pressed you for evidence to back up your arguments, you come up with a bigger excuse as to why you can't provide it.

Lavinia it was not a DOUBLE murder it was 2 separate murders within 3 days of each other. I can give you the names of the victims and circumstances of their deaths and the names of those arrested as well as my involvement in these cases if you so wish. Oh and yes it was my birthday on the 24th Sept as stated. Would you like to see my birth certificate?

If you want Lavinia I will send the information on students found cheating in the UK to you via a private message to prove I have done my research into the numbers of students caught cheating in the UK, though I did post several links on one of my posts the other day that detailed research that has been done into the numbers of students using essay sites.

Self-defense is not a punishable offense

What makes you think I was just complaining about your rudeness? I hardly think that they way you conduct yourself can be classed as self defence since you are the one that does most of the attacking.

I have no respect for you or any of your opinions as you cannot string together a whole entry on the forum without resorting to slagging someone off. You avoid answering direct questions by resorting to attempts at belittling people. With the complaint I have lodged maybe that will soon becoming to an end.

I did my homework before submitting my complaint and have presented my findings to the moderator. I have asked for a response within 14 days before my senior partner in chambers and I take further action. I do not need to nor am going to explain to you or anyone on here what the grievance is and I will let the forum administrators review the information submitted to them so they can decide what action if any they propose to take.

At present I have been advised to discontinue posting on here by my senior partner as it could effect the outcome of the proposed action. I am not at liberty to discuss this further and so for now this is the last post I will be making.

have outlined their hiring standards through the post that I linked (a post that I wrote long before you started this line of argument). they all did the following:

You have only quoted what the sites SAY they require. Private message me these sites and I will approach them for work. If they reject me or perform the checks you claim then fait a compli I will post on here to state you are correct.

If you are so confident of the claims you assert then you should not be bothered whether I test them out or not. 'The proof of the pudding is in the eating'.

I am not being unreasonable to ask to be allowed to verify this for myself. If someone put a contract in front of me saying that if I signed it I would get £1,000,000 I would not take that at face value either. I would want to check it out for myself before I believed what I was being told.

if your response is that you don't believe me, i think that is just unreasonable and unfair considering your demand that i should believe you to be honest about checking them.

I actually gave 3 of the sites I checked out and could have listed many more but did not want to monopolise the thread nor get accused or advertising these sites. If you would like me to private message you all the sites I went to and send you the email I sent to them and their responses I will gladly do so as I have nothing to hide.

Do you really EXPECT people to take at face value a list of the conditions you say the companies imposed on you without question. If anyone on here wishes to see the emails I sent to the various writing agencies send me a private message and I will forward these onto you so that you can see that I can back up the claims I am making.

As a barrister I would never assert a comment that I could not back up with evidence, that would be foolish.

Lavinia send me the names of these sites you are referring to by private email and I will test your hypothesis.

Since when am I required to comply with your personal requests? Sorry, but your personal agenda is meaningless to me.

But you expect others to reply to your personal requests. I have no personal agenda although I have taken issue with your repeated comments to joey and others concerning them being, in your words 'chimps and dog eaters', as you may well find out through admin as I have made an official complaint.

I will post their response once they have investigated my allegation, though you might find out before me if they agree with the request I made. See you around

i don't doubt that there are many companies with low standards of employment. i simply object to the claim that they are ALL that way

I have yet to find a company that keeps to its claims of only employing UK or US writers which is why I made the comment that to date the companies tested ALL seem to allow anyone to write for them no matter what their qualifications. Find me one that doesn't and prove me wrong and I will concede the issue!

How many times do multiple people have to explain to you that mentioning "legit" companies is NOT allowed here? Do you have some sort of brain damage?

And how many times have I asked you to send me a private message naming these LEGIT companies- thereby not breaking the rules of the forum as it will not be in the public domain- or did you gloss over that piece of the writing intentionally as you always do?

see no evidence of this in any of your posts and as you wont even send me a private email giving details of a site that you believe only employs US writers

Emphasis on PRIVATE EMAIL!! Numbskull. Hey looks like you are in the running for the 'Idiot of the Year Award' yourself!!

Thank you WB for proving your ignorance of the understanding of the word END on the other posting.

CUE DRUM ROLL

And the IDIOT of the YEAR AWARD goes to.....

WB

PLease take a bow and goodnight and God bless I am off to find a more worthy opponent.

Oh and as for your 'unqualified' barrister comment I can prove my qualifications without any difficulty. As well as my certificate to practice, and membership of the bar counsel of england and wales, and membership of the honourable society of lincoln's inns, my reputation in the royal courts of justice in london and the Old Bailey also speak volumes of my experience as will my title of QC which I am heading towards at present and will attain as soon as I have completed my silks.

Before you decide to respond in future you might like to engage your brain before you put your mouth into gear! I will leave you with the quote from Alexandre Dumas which kind of sums up my opinion of you

'Rogues are preferable to imbeciles because they sometimes take a rest.'

Farewell!!

You admitted that you provided false identity/qualifications to Turnitin in order to gain access

Actually no I didn't give false qualifications if you can read correctly. It asked for the institution I work for so I gave the name of the university I mark for- since when would that be classed as a lie? Turnitin assumed I was a representative of the university admin department applying for access and not an individual who works on a freelance basis.

You can't tell authors that they have no right to sell their own writings,

I am not telling authors that they are not free to do with their work as they wish, however I am challenging the ethics of those who knowingly sell to students in the knowledge that the work will be submitted as the students own work when in fact it is not. Why not just sell diplomas on line where no one has to work for them (oh I forgot there are companies in America that do just that) Let's encourage a world of cheaters. Why do your own work when you can pinch someone else's?

You might as well encourage people to go and nick from supermarket shelves while your at it

You may want to read the contract that you signed. Indeed, you should be worried.

There was no contract numbskull! They ask which institute you are associated with and that is that. If they check with the University quoted they will find that I am ASSOCIATED with the university though not employed by them as I am self employed. You cannot teach me anything with respect to contract law. I read the small print on a bar of soap (tongue-in-cheek) As a qualified barrister I made absolutely certain that none of my actions could be deemed as illegal or unlawful.

You seem to suggest you know so much about turnitin - do you work for the company? Oh no you don't do you - you earn money by exposing frauds and assisting students in cheating using so called LEGIT sites!

You are now becoming your usual annoying self as you always do when you are losing so I do not intend to humour you with further discussion.

Just in case you need clarification of the last statement here it is in simple terms END OF DISCUSSION.

I fully expect you will reply as you do not know the meaning of the word END but let me add a few definitions

end - The point in time when an action, an event, or a phenomenon ceases or is completed; To bring to a conclusion.; To come to a finish; cease.

Anyway rant and rave as much as you like from this point onward it will only show your ignorance in failing to understand the meaning of the word END!!

Quoting: WritersBeware

Secondly, wake up and stop engaging in the same activities as the criminals!

As I am an essay marker I would hardly class my use of this software as ILLEGAL as I am entitled to verify whether students have plagairised the submitted essays or not.

As also stated if I were to request access to this software from the university I am employed by they would have provided this for me free of charge.

The point I was making (and am still making) is that if I can get the software as easily as I did then so can other essay writing companies. There is nothing that can be done from preventing these companies from using this software to scan the work of their writers which therefore means that if the customer chooses to submit the essay as their own the essay may well be detected as plagairised as it will be within the detection software.

For this reason, as well as for the sake of integrity and honesty, those buying custom written essays should not submit purchased essays as their own work. At the end of the day you are only fooling yourself that you are capable of completing your degree.

How do those students who submit custom written essays as their own work hope to fair in the employment world if they are ever asked to replicate the reports or essays they have submitted for university when they have never had to write their own work.

In the UK Oxford and Cambridge universities are now taking a tough line with oxbridge students who are working for essay writing companies. Any student caught working for these sites are being expelled from the universities. Upon entry into the university they are being given material explaining that they will be expelled if they work for one of these sites. Other universities are beginning to follow suit and more and more are taking action against students they suspect are buying such essays or are writing for companies.

Below are a few of the recent comments made concerning plagairism in the UK. Plagairism is defined as submitting someone else's work as your own without giving credit to the original writer. Those using essay mills cannot give credit to the writer as they are never given any information concerning the person that has written for them. Just because they do not know the author they do not have the right to submit this work as their own. It is plagairism however you try to dress it up.

As I suspected you cannot name one site that supposedly employs US writers only and therefore cannot guarantee to anyone on here that the essays they get will be from a US writer.

Where is your proof that your legit companies do not rip off american students by using only US writers. I see no evidence of this in any of your posts and as you wont even send me a private email giving details of a site that you believe only employs US writers I can only assume that you don't know of any.

In essence this means that even those companies you state are legit because they are located in the US are not necessarily LEGIT unless you can categorically prove that they will not use non US writers to write essays for US students.

julie24963, see the name of this site. It's not "EssayLegit.com." I post in order to uncover scams, not to endorse the sites that I believe engage in legitimate, honest business practices.

So in other words you cannot name any sites whether they are based in america or UK that only employ american or UK writers and will not give work to ESL writers. How can you guarantee that those companies that ARE LEGIT as you claim, do not use mostly ESL writers for their company.

Just because they do no lie about their location does not mean that they employ high quality writers. In fact they are probably exploiting the fact the ESL writers will work for less and are making an evener huger profit for selling these essays.

your accusation that i am hiding behind forum rules is both false and rude.

Lavinia I apologise if you think I was being rude. That was not my intention and I was merely pointing out that there are very few if any companies out there that will refuse to employ a writer no matter where they are from and also that very few ask to see any proof of the qualificatios of their writers.

Test it out for yourself if you like. Pose as an ESL writer and see if any of the companies that you believe are legit would entertain you as a writer! You could also try giving yourself false qualifications to see if they check to see whether these are bona fide. I bet you would be amazed at the results.

isn't that pretty unethical? posing to be a consumer intending to use a product for one reason and then using it for another?

I paid for the usage thereof, and I do use it for a bona fide purpose as you should have noted from my post

2. to assist my in my job marking essays for universities.

As also mentioned, I could have had access to this for free through the university I mark for if I had asked for it.

It is not exactly a lie when i gavethe institution details as I do in a way work for them as an external marker of papers.

Ethical or not it does prove that others could access turnitin if they wanted to which rather blows the theory of WB that only schools can have it. You could argue that it is rather lax of turnitin not to make thorough checks of those requesting the software, but I guess as long as they get paid they are not that bothered!

As you point out though neither this site nor essay fraud name those sites that are SUPPOSEDLY legit and neither of these sites name all of the sites that are SUPPOSEDLY fraudulent. There are many sites (some of them new sites) that are not in essayfrauds lists but are SUPPOSEDLY owned by one of the FRAUDULENT sites.

In my opinion you are hiding behind the rules of advertising as an excuse to not name any of the sites you claim are legit as you cannot be 100% certain that I would not be successful in securing employment with them even though I am not a US resident.

The simple solution as I see it would be to send a private message to my email address with the sites you claim are legit and I will test them out.

Turnitin's legal department will be receiving a copy of this thread.

And I guess you are expecting me to be worried by this??

OOO I'm quaking in my boots!! Not!

I purchased turnitin for 2 reasons

1. to prove that it was available to those who are not schools and

2. to assist my in my job marking essays for universities.

I guess if I had asked the university to allow me to access turnitin using their access they would have allowed it anyway.

Either way I really do not care one way or another who you wish to show this to.

essaycapital.com/custom_essay.php - I told them I was from UK, they did not ask to see any of my work but asked if I was comfortable with writing law essays for US students. I lied and said I had done US bar exams and they offered me a job.

grandessays.com- takes on UK an US writers but would you trust them when they cannot even spell words correctly on their front page

UK and US writers only; we care about the quality of the reasearch papers
Flexible pricing policy; with us you receive an authentic and professionally written term paper or disseration

I told them that I was Singapore but got my degree in UK. They asked for one sample of my work so I sent them one of my worst pieces and was offered a job.

solidpapers.com- These do have UK and US writers but did not ask for proof of my certificates/ qualifications.

There are several others. Here's a challenge why not tell me which ones you think would reject me because I am in the UK or ones that wont take foreign writers and I will see if I can prove you wrong!

That is 100% accurate, as far as Turnitin is concerned. Turnitin ONLY allows access to schools.

Actually that is not correct. I have access to turnitin and I am not a school or an essay writing company.

Turnitin is available to anybody who is willing to pay for the software even though it asks for the institute you are working for.

Try it out for yourself and you will see that you to could get it!
