I've worked for a few essay-writing companies (and even own one myself). I have not heard of any reputable company hiring someone who doesn't have a degree. You'd probably have to be a VERY exceptional writer to get hired by a good company if you don't have at least a Bachelor's degree.

I don't think someone with just a Bachelor's degree can write at the PhD level. The only exception (I imagine) would be if that writer had written a long senior thesis. But, even then, such a person would probably fizzle out at the Master's level (without further schooling). In my company, we have a couple of PhD's and we only use them for Master's and PhD level work.

I agree with Cite. Don't believe these extortionists. It's just not worth their effort to try to "ruin" your academic career. They will find other victims. In the meantime, I'm glad you've found a forum like this one that has legitimate writers who don't resort to those quasi-gangster tactics.

FreelanceWriter is spot-on. Admissions staff do not want to waste their time with crappy, plagiarized essays. The prevention of those scenarios seems to be the clear primary purpose of this partnership. I'm actually surprised this happened already. I can hardly imagine how dreadful it must be to read tons of poorly written admissions essays. Even worse if they're plagiarized.

Happy New Year to all! I'm definitely a bit late to this thread, but it's only very recently that I've decided to be become an active member of this community. After working for other companies for a few years, I finally decided to branch out and start my own company. Prior to doing that, this website had been an invaluable resource to me. I hope to contribute and be of service to others who are in this industry.

Ultimately, time will tell. But I'm confident that we'll all be fine during and after all this coronavirus/COVID-19 mess.

How's everyone been doing so far during this madness? I expect that more online classes could result in increased demand.

I agree that the biggest factor is the amount of disposable income for students. I won't be surprised the "gig economy" takes off an many of our clients are working for companies like Uber Eats.

Regardless, I'm fairly confident that students will have enough money to last for the rest of 2020. But I'm not so sure about 2021. That year could be a major game-changer.

This is very good information. I may even expound on it later on our website. For now, I just want to say that many students who get ripped off really miss a bunch of red flags. They say you shouldn't blame the victim, but sometimes I can't help but to blame the victim.

When it comes to essay-writing companies, the biggest red flag is any company that contacts you by using a bot (on Twitter, FB, etc). That just screams "organized fraudster." The OP addressed this already, but I want to emphasize it. I can't believe that people routinely fall for that sort of thing.
