I tried to send you a message, but apparently I have to post at least 4 "useful" messages in order to do so! I get the impression that discussing specific companies on here is frowned upon, but I tried the following: ukessays.com, customessays.co.uk, a private guy I found on Gumtree and another company, also on Gumtree, called UK Essay Service. Out of those, customessays.co.uk and the private guy were hopeless and ukessays.com was okay, which leaves... I guess I was just surprised that, in my experience at least, 75% of the people I tried turned out to be, at best, distinctly below standard. I'd've expected a few duds, but I wasted over £600 on essays that were, basically, cr*p.

Hi, thanks for all the opinions. I guess my point was that it seems incredible that only 25% of the companies I tried seemed able to deliver what they promised. I'll stick with the one that delivered, unless they too turn out to be s*it in the long-run. Wish I'd read some of this stuff here before I tried the others, but hey, that's life. Expensive lesson.

Have to say, I'd NEVER pay for an essay by someone for whom English was a second language. Is that bad of me? And none of the sites I used mentioned anything about not being based in the UK. Are these rip-off sites all out in Ukraine etc.?

Though WB, I've been to India and it's a lovely country. Different, very different, to the UK, bit of a culture shock, but you get used to it.

Some people on here really don't like each other! Kind of can't help noticing that you seem to have virtually ignored my original question and gone off on a personal war, and from looking around the site it seems like that happens quite a lot. I'm sure WritersBeware and WritersNeeded are both cool people...

Could I risk returning to my original question? WritersBeware, you seem to have conducted a lot of research into the area of essay sites, scams etc., which is cool, someone definitely needs to. But would you say that the majority of the sites that come up in a basic Google search are scams? Or is it a minority and I was just unlucky?

Someone recommended essaybay to me in a private message, but I looked at the site and something seemed 'off', not sure what.

I'm actually thinking of focusing on this industry for an essay at uni. I think this time I'll write it myself, save myself shelling out £300 for a pile of cr*p (yes, ukessays.com, I mean you)...

Do these arguments just never end?

WB in particular, you go around and around in these ridiculous circles of anger and stupidity - if you directed all this energy somewhere more productive, you might actually find yourself with better things to do. Don't you sometimes feel like every single key you push on your keyboard is another step on the road to oblivion?

Sorry, I just think this site could be useful if certain people stopped using it as a forum in which to exercise their egos.
