Essay Services / Essaybay, what do you think? [264]

Seriously ... call Essaybay Admin at once and report the writer ...

Swedlife, if you email the admin address (admin@essaybay) with your user name, and a description of the problem, I can get somebody to look into this for you as soon as possible.

Hello Mcozire,

I think you'll find it is against the forum regulations to ask for recommendations.

This forum is for members to report on essay scams, and warn others of their experiences.

If you ask for recommendations you'll only notice a lot of people will come out of the woodwork to promote their service by hiding behind a fake name, and posing as a customer - so it's really not worth it anyway.

Hello, if you email @essaybay today with your EssayBay username, I can get somebody to look into this.

To speed things along, please check that you've submitted all of the relevant information with your payment request. Requests often get rejected if, for example, writers do not include their bank address, or a valid swift code.

Also, at the moment in our payment console for wire payments, I can only see one request which has no account number, sort code or name attached.

Any problems give one of our team a call.

Thanks,
Carly

I am confused? I don't have three other user names?

I do not see how helping somebody (who is clearly having a problem getting the money which is rightfully theirs) is 'whoring my shameless company.' If I was sat here posing as a fake writer saying 'oh I get paid on time - it's a really good site' I could see your point. But I am not!

The press release you are referring to is actually quite old, and definitely before my time working on EssayBay - I have no involvement with marketing, PR or anything like that so it'd be over my head to try and pass comment. Though, I am sure if Jen knows anything about it she'll be happy to reply to your concerns. I'll alert her to this thread tomorrow when I am back in work.

Thanks,
Carly

Um, check with your cohorts at Academic Answers.

But, I personally only have 1 user name?

I only signed up because I saw that writers were having problems with some parts of the site, and I wanted to assure them that said problems could be resolved by letting us know.

Currently, we do not have our own forum, or a message board for writers to report problems like this (something we will hopefully be adding as part of the restructure), so if I notice somebody is having difficulties with the site, instead of letting them sit there and feel angry about it, I might as well offer to sort the problem out... (In this instance, I cannot even see a funds transfer request from the writer in question, so my guess is he didn't give us the correct information to process it. A problem which can very easily resolved.)

Again, referring back to your previous point, how is this 'whoring my shameless company?' And referring back to my previous point, I am hardly touting for business, or posing as somebody else as many many other companies seem to do on this message board.

Hello Sarif1145,

You may have had no answer because of time zone differences, if you try ringing between 9am and 9pm GMT (2pm - 2am EST) Monday to Friday - you should get an answer from one of our team.

I hope your issue gets resolved.

And the guy who is going to pick the phone will politely tell you that everyone is quite busy so call later.....

There were admittedly a couple of training issues before, and we only had one person working at any given time trained to deal with EssayBay problems because they were few and far between. We have recently noticed a lot of people were having problems (mostly bought to our attention via this forum) so we spent time with the rest of the team training them how to resolve common issues, and help sort disputes.

We're aiming to make it much easier to post us problems soon - and we intend on installing a 'help' form into the control panels.

Hey WB,

I am certain I promised to ask Jen about the PR article in the newspaper (The coach who purchased essays for his team) and she did respond to that in this thread.

RE: The other issue you have (the Viper/Essay Bank) I am unsure why she's not responded. I know she has a lot on her plate at the moment, and perhaps it's on her 'to do' list? I'm off work tomorrow (I have my driving test!) but I'll try & remember to speak to her on Thurs once I am back.

Is this thread to do with putting the essays from Viper into the Essay Bank? From what I understand, the work in the Essay Bank has been uploaded by people who've signed up to the Essay Bank to upload their work. If any other students buy the work from them, they get a profit from the sale.

No member of my team (we run the websites & maintain the services) works on the Essay Bank, and we've not even touched it in the year and a half I've worked for the company. I can 100% say that the essays from Viper do not go in there - they're no way connected, and I know that for a fact - they're not even stored in the same place, nor are they on the same server. The same with the custom written essays from our writers - they're not uploaded onto there. In fact, we have a 'no resale/no publication promise' on UKEssays etc so to do this would violate our own guarantees - which would be pointless!

The reason why the 'term paper bank' is linked from EssayBay is because I've never bothered to take it off there. (I recently took over the running of Essaybay) The link has been there for a good while, but I've never seen a need to remove it. We're overhauling the site this autumn, I may address it then, but for now it's not harming anything or anybody so it can stay.

I hope that cleared up a couple of things, and as I said, I'll try to prod Jen on Thurs and get her to visit here and clear up any outstanding issues.

(And I know you're pretty picky about grammar etc but it's quite late here now, so I apologise if I have made any glaring mistakes - I am pretty sleepy!)

Are you serious? WOW. Now Jennifer is claiming that EssayBay is not a property of Academic Answers

Hmmm, I think Jen was attempting to distinguish between all the AA sites like Law Teacher, UK Essays etc and saying that EssayBay is a complete separate entity to those sites, their guarantees and their terms of service. (Although, I agree the way she's written it sounds as if EssayBay is not apart of the 'Academic Answers' LTD company.)

A good example is that all of our other sites offer a plagiarism-free guarantee - whereas on EssayBay the writers set their own guarantees. So, say a mass change to all the AA sites to update a with a new guarantee usually leaves EssayBay out!

As you have rightfully pointed out, we've never hidden the fact EB is apart of AA, and we openly promote it to our customers - we're very proud of it!

I came across essaybay. right from the start, they lost my username and password, and I haven't been able to get in touch with them.

Hey RustyIronChains. As you're probably aware from reading the EssayBay threads, I've taken over the running of the EssayBay site recently.

I can help you sort out the username / password issue instantly - I'm not sure how your account would have been lost - but send me over the email address you used to register the account with, and I'll look into it. I know WB doesn't like us giving out our company email accounts on here, so if you could private message me and I'll sort it for you.

If the account has gone, I'll set you up a new one, but you'll have to refill your profile details etc.

I'm not working now until Monday morning, but I'll check my messages on here over the weekend for you & send you over my response. (Incase I'm a little slow to respond - you'll know why!)

Jun 19, 2009

WB - didn't I already answer #2 for you - we're not actively promoting the EssayBank - I've just not removed the link from the sidebar on EssayBay because it it's working, and it does us no harm. I said I'd probably be moving it, or scrapping it altogether with the redesign this autumn.

she would understand that I am HELPING your company to clarify errors and inconsistencies on its sites.

I appreciate this, because as you know, our company has several different sites, lots of different departments and quite a lot of staff working for us now. We're doing our best to iron out these inconsistencies, and we're doing a lot to try and improve communications through teams - so anything you spot, as you say, will help us to improve.

For example, I am fairly certain the meta description on Law Teacher (which caused a few discrepancies in the Viper thread) was just a simple error overlooked by one of our SEO/web team members. 'Professionally written law essays' may have been a new keyword we were aiming for on this site, and somebody may have opened and searched through Law Teacher files locally, and replaced instances of 'law essays' with 'professionally written law essays' - not really taking it into account that it doesn't even make sense on this page, and it can be misleading. A human error!? The essay bank on UK Essays mentions nowhere that they're written by professionals, nor does the essay bank on EssayBay or Degree Essays.

I'm not saying that in this instance that is exactly what happened - I don't work on that site - what I am getting at, is that I know we never set out to mislead people, so personally I feel when you point these things out to us, it gives us a scope to improve. You've obviously felt mislead - so who else has? All by a tiny, overlooked change in meta description!

We can iron out these problems and hopefully deliver a better service. I'll get my colleague Dan to change this on Monday - though I can't actually see the EssayBank linked on Law Teacher at all (I only did a quick scan of the menu though).

As I've mentioned before, the article on the coach I cannot comment on, as it was before my time, and I know nothing about the PR side of things. All I can say is that I'll take something positive from this, and ensure that any future PR carried out for EssayBay is more careful.

(Re: RustyIronChain's point on grammar - aaah please don't pick me up on mine! I am not a writer, haha!)
Carly
Jun 19, 2009

WB, I was agreeing with you.

I was saying that I think this is just a little change made by our SEO team that got overlooked - we never intended on misleading anybody. I think Dan (or whoever was working on LT at the time) made the change focusing on this keyword, and didn't really think about it in the context of the page. (Agreeing again, that it's a perhaps a breakdown in communication here?)

I also pointed out that I appreciate your input - if you feel mislead, who else out there feels that way too? We don't want to mislead people!

I'll get Dan to review the tag on Monday (though, if/when Google change it will be down to Google.) which will hopefully clear up this matter. I really don't think anybody has intended to mislead our customers with this - would we write 'professionally written' on all of our EssayBanks, not just Law Teacher if this was the case?

On to your last point, I can do what I usally do and grab Jen next time I see her, or drop her an email alerting her to the fact you'd like her to respond to your points. As always, I'll be happy to pass on your request. (If she doesn't drop by here first?)

.. and final point, thank you for noticing the error and alerting us to it.

Jun 19, 2009

WB - I have clarified points #1, #2 and #4 for you already.

#1 - I am certain this is an error by the person working on that site, in our SEO team. I've already mailed them this evening to ask them to change it Monday morning.

#2 - This has nothing to do with Jen, it was my call to leave the link on there, and I've said now that I'll address it over the next few months. It hurts nobody, and it works - it's not a priority at this time. The essaybank hasn't had a coding review, marketing plan nor any money spent on it (unlike, for example, viper). Jen meant this type of promotion - not a link on a site.

#4 - I clarified that I think Jen meant EssayBay is a separate entity to our other AA sites - I stated that she could have worded it better - but working for the company, and on EssayBay - I can see what she means. It's a site belonging to the AA LTD company, but it's not in line with the other sites in terms of guarantees, T&Cs etc.

As stated before, any inconsistencies and errors you pick up on really do help us, and it gives us the scope to iron out these problems, so I appreciate it, and thank you.
Carly
Jun 19, 2009

I think personally, for me, I'd like to dip out of the 'personal' stuff like this - I signed up because at the end of the day I work for a genuine company, where we try and look after our customers (albeit - not very well in the past, from what I gather) - and I just want to help anyone stuck with EssayBay, or anything else AA related that I know about.

If I didn't really like our company and believe in what I do, I wouldn't be sat here at 9.30pm on a Friday, unpaid, interspersing hair-straightening with posting!! (I'm going to go out soon!)

So, back to my point, I think I'll leave this up to Jen now to answer. :-)

And, thank you for pointing out the error with LT's essaybank, which as I've said should be fixed Monday morning.

Jun 20, 2009

thanks for the personal note, "Carly," about maybe addressing the problem Monday

I actually was saying that even though I am not on company time, and I'm off this weekend, I'll happily log onto our system and work the problem out for you, if you private message me.

I am sorry to hear that you are giving up on EssayBay - as I have pointed out numerous times in this forum, we've noticed the site has a lot of problems for users and we're aiming to iron them out as best we can. Gradually we'll be improving the interface, and the system itself, with a large reprogramming and redesign project scheduled in for the autumn.

I've already been working with our customer services team to improve support, and I have many many more plans in place (for example, rewriting the FAQs and some help guides too.)

What I am trying to say is, I hope I can convince you that we're working on the problems, and you'll stick with us. :-)

Jun 28, 2009

I don't have too much time to look through these forums, so I apologise for not seeing this problem sooner. The member having issues with the payment of $/£135: I can see a message on our system saying this was resolved on Friday at 7pm - I am not sure of the particulars - I just quickly logged on to check. Can you confirm this is the case please, if not I'll get somebody to email you on Monday and help sort things out.

Thanks, Carly.

Jun 29, 2009

I'm confused, as far as I can see on the system the issue has now been resolved.

Chacha can you private message me please with your details and I'll dig deeper into the problem for you.

EW the £/$ is likely to be a typo, I'll also look into this during the week.

Thanks,
Carly

Jun 29, 2009

^ I was just wondering this myself.

Like I said, if Chacha has a problem, please can he contact me via the private messaging system for my email address.

Is this the same member that owned/affiliated with EssayBrunch by the way?
Carly
Jun 29, 2009

Yes it is :) And, the resident genuis (Chacha of Essaybrunch) insists that I own everything AK/AA, including essaybay. If I do, it seems that you people owe me a great deal of money!

You own all the sites *shifty eyes* does that mean you're sat in the same office as me now?

*runs around the offices to see who is on EssayScam, so she can out OR's real identity!*

Haha...
Carly
Jun 29, 2009

I had the issue with essaybay because it still owe me $100 and i have repeatedly sent emails to your admin but never received any reply from your side despite the lapse of three months.. so these $100 does not mean to me anything now and you can keep them as a donation... There are issues with essaybay and it must act quickly to solve them..

Actually, I insist - can you please PM me the details so I can look into this.

Regarding the issues and "acting quickly to solve them" I think it is clear from my posts on this forum that we're putting a lot of work into the site at the moment, and we're doing everything to help people who are having problems etc.

I've also announced countless times that the site is having a huge overhaul in the autumn. I've already made substantial changes to the control panels over the last couple of weeks to make things easier for new users, and I am currently recoding the project details pages.

I've also put in place more support over the last couple of weeks, which admittedly isn't quite perfect - but we're getting there. We just want to make the site as usable as possible!

I'd like to investigate your case for you and send over any missing funds.

Thanks,
Carly
Carly
Jun 29, 2009

Chacha, again: please can you send me your writer ID or your project number so I can investigate what money we owe you. If your claims are true, I can send it over right away - possibly within the next hour. I am sure this is just a mistake - as I said - I thought the issue had been resolved on Friday, though I was scanning through emails and didn't have the particulars of your situation - so I could have been looking at the wrong emails I guess.

As I say, PLEASE can you send me your account or the project details for me to investigate.
Carly
Jun 29, 2009

I will email her all the details...

I look forward to it. I'm leaving work in 45 minutes - so the sooner the better!

If you send it after, I'll pick it up tomorrow morning- first thing.

Carly

Oooh juicy!

Let's look into this problem - it's the first I've heard of it!

I'll see if I can get one of my super duper new programmers to fix it for me asap (well once I've worked out the problems, of course!)

Thank you for bringing it to my attention :-)

Carly

Also, if you're a regular user of EssayBay, could I take this as an opportunity to find out if any of the quick control panel changes I made have helped make the site easier to use? And what you'd still like to be changed?

I've noticed more buyers paying as a result - is this something writers have noticed too?

If anyone would like to email me their feedback, it's always welcomed - as is suggestions for improvements. And, as usual, it's carly@

(I hope this doesn't irk any of the forum's regular members, WB, OR & co- I'd just be really interested to hear feedback on how to make the site more usable, especially in light of recent problems posted on here!)
Carly
Jun 30, 2009

I will email the whole thing to admin probably tommorow morning...

It's now mid-afternoon and I've still not received an email to admin@ or carly@. Are you sure you're mailing them to essaybay?

If there is a problem, I'd really like to get it resolved for you. I'd hate to think you are simply embellishing, and making up problems where there are none. What would this achieve for either party?? As I've said, please email over your account ID or project ID. I can look at the client's details, release any payments to you and/or send over any money you're owed. I can also cross reference with the emails in our system, and see if our CS team really have been neglecting to respond to your enquiries.

Thanks,
Carly

Jun 30, 2009

One writer has sent me details today, but I do not think it is Chacha - his style of English is totally different - did another writer reply about money in the other thread? I'll check it out.

DUE TO ETHICAL REASONS WHICH HE WHO SHALL REMAIN UNNAMED CANNOT BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND

Is this anything I could help with - did you ever get your problems resolved?
Carly
Jun 30, 2009

Hahaha, I am going to email that my boss and see if I can have a payrise haha.

Sending in the order ID should not be a problem ... he was repeatedly asked for it but, you know the rest ...

I've got my doubts - but I figured if I accused him outright of lying it'd be bad business practise! Other people struggling with EssayBay may not have been in the loop, and may have seen me accusing him and been put off asking for help. If you see what I mean. :-S
Carly
Jun 30, 2009

I just think the previous one where all the options were neatly displayed together was better

Oh really? But there was no sense of order - all the icons were all mixed up - now you can manage your finances, projects, etc all together. If you have any suggestions to make it better, I'll be happy to listen.

Carly :-)
Carly
Jun 30, 2009

Really? Because I use this email all the time - in fact, I just mailed another EssayBay user from there.

WB, OR - or anybody else feel free to verify this, and email me!!!

You can't have been spelling it correctly Chacha.

chacha421:
I have already emailed you my concerns.. the email i sent on carly@essaybay returned back..

Feel free to email them into admin@ as well Chacha.
Carly
Jun 30, 2009

I see, if that was you that mailed me, why did you say in the other thread that my mail bounced back?

If that was you, you'll know I am doing what I can to assist your enquiry.

Thank you :-)
Carly
Jun 30, 2009

Just to be sure, could you email me again with your EssayScam username & your EssayBay username in the email - that way I can verify I'm talking about the right person!!

Thank you,
Carly :-)
Carly
Jun 30, 2009

I've said this before, we are installing our own forum for EssayBay members to use (I'm just am not sure when it'll be done!)

I apologise if you think it's inappropriate - nobody should be using this as a route to get tech support, but in light of the members that have - would you rather people having issues with the site sit there and wallow in their problems?

I'm not out to scam anyone, I'm not out to bad mouth any other company, I don't wish to poach any other company's customers - but if somebody has a problem (in this case 2 different problems have been highlighted to me) I am not going to ignore it. Moderators can remove my email addresses - fine, no problem at all. But isn't it better that two problems got near resolved today via this forum? Three if you count the dodgy £/$ sign in the emails I'm also looking into from another thread. I'm not hurting anybody here, am I?

You're right though, I probably shouldn't have asked for the feedback, but I felt having a captive audience of writers was too good an opportunity to miss - I am working hard to fix the site as best as possible, and with extensive plans in the pipelines for the reprogram, it's nice to know what others want fixing too.

Cheers,
Carly :-)

Additionally, I also wanted to find out if Chacha was having genuine issues with the site, or whether he was using it as a venue to (once again) bad mouth EssayBay.

industry work full time as a freelancer??

Gotta say, we have quite a few freelance writers that work for AK. They're freelance because they aren't on the payroll - it's nothing to do with how many hours they work. Like all freelancers, they invoice their fees to us. Just like if I was to quit EB and work freelance full time doing SEO or web design.
