Hi,
I ordered an essay from Degree Essays UK (UKessays.com). I paid for 5 days delivery but they asked for 7 days which I agreed to. On the day it was due I received an email saying that the researcher had pulled out and that I could either have a full refund or they could find another writer. I opted for another writer and received the essay a week later as expected.

On their websie it clearly states under their guarantees section that if your essay is not received on the day as promised you would get a full refund and the essay as well.

I phoned Degree Essays UK and asked about this as I did not receive my essay on time (I finally received it one week after it was originally promised) and they were very rude, refused to let me speak to a manager and told me to stop phoning!

Any ideas on what I can do. I feel that I am entitled to my money back as I received the essay one week late.

Sorry, I should have put that the promise on the website is

'All work is guaranteed to be completed on time or we'll give you your money back and deliver the essay for free. '

Do you think that I have a case? I wasnt too sure so I thought id come here and see what other people said. Im trying to get the contact details for a manager or head office but they just keep refusing to speak to me.

Im just miffed that they make guarantees that they dont stick to.

I will contact trading standards and look into filing a claim in the small claims court as well although Im not sure how I go about that...

Well thats a turn around considering no one in the office would allow me to speak to any management.

Hi Becky, I was promised on friday that it would be sorted and that I would be fully refunded into my bank account today (Monday). I have yet to receive it but I will keep checking my bank account as its still only lunch time.

Hi Dylan, Degree essays originally said 3-5 days, then they sent another email stating 1-2 days and Ive just received another email saying 5-7 days so im not too sure exactly what is going on and neither are they. I just hope they stick to their word....

Hi Dylan, yes they're talking but i dont think they're talking the truth.....
I just phoned the bank and they said that there are no payments awaiting clearance into my account and it is now wednesday and I still havent received my refund.

It all sounds very dubious to me, I dont believe that I will receive any refund as they are definitely messing me about. They seemed very genuine at first but not anymore. I suppose we will just have to wait and see.

Hi Becky, if they do come through on their promise and I get a refund I will let you know straight away. I am ready to take the matter further, I have made preliminary contact with trading standards and I also have the details ready to make a claim in the small claims court.

I am still hoping that my money will be refunded, but im not suer if thats just wishful thinking!

To be honest Dylan, my only real interest is getting my refund. As soon as I get it i will post it here so everyone will know.

What did Degree Essays do when you complained about the bad essay you received from them?

Hi, Just an update to let everyone know that I received a full refund today. So Degree Essays UK did keep to their guarantees, I received a good essay and a full refund because it was delivered late.
