Hi all,

I just joined this forum and am trying to get a foot in the door doing freelance writing. My expertise is really essay writing and literature.

Book ScriptI have an MA in English and have been teaching college-level writing courses (composition, literature, business writing, research writing) for the last 8 years. I've also done a lot of essay writing for grad school (you don't have much of a choice when you study literature ;-) ) and I actually love to research and write papers. So I'm looking into essay writing jobs as well, stuff that I can do from home.

However, I have a big big concern as to how companies like Manuscript Services (which is one I've come across) and others work. I teach a lot of online composition and research writing courses and the issue of purchasing essays from companies or even some cheaper site such as StudentofFortune is a great concern for many teachers. The last thing that I want is to sign up with a company that is in essence contracting me to write essays for students to purchase and turn in as their own for college courses. The thought fairly makes me sick, to be honest.

So does anybody know anything about Manuscript Services in this respect? The website states the following: "We will write a custom written essay or research paper based on your subject, which you can use as a springboard for your own work." But who's to say that the client will indeed use the essay as a "springboard" and not try to pass it off as his/her own?

Also, are there companies that hire essay writers to help students write essays rather than write an entire essay for them? That's really more what I think I would be good at because I'm good at working one-on-one with people and helping to point things out to improve their writing.

Any advice?
