@noted I do appreciate your concern here, but I feel I should share my experience with vetting FreelanceWriter. I, too, wanted proof that he had a law degree, so I did a fair amount of due diligence before engaging him officially. I first called his law school's registrar's office to see if they could confirm that he is an alumnus. The office indicated that they could not disclose information about one of their students without going through a long process of submitting consent forms and the like. So I asked FreelanceWriter for a scan of his diploma, and he sent that to me along with his New York driver's licence and his alumni association card.
To be extra sure, I even verified FLW's landline phone number independently before even trusting that the number he provided was really his. We then spoke briefly over the phone and I reviewed his .gov reports on the HHS-OIG website, and I also reviewed some redacted UK law writing samples he had provided. These steps, along with the verification of his law degree, assuaged my initial fear about working with him (or with anyone, for that matter).
But most importantly, any of my remaining doubts vanished completely as soon as I saw the first piece of writing I had ordered from him. I'm genuinely thrilled that a freelancer, especially an American, was able to deliver such high-quality work on a UK law project, and so quickly.
