Recession makes people less likely to take risks. Would you hand in a CV written by some anonymous person who might not even hold qualifications beyond GCSE level or would you write it yourself?

Perhaps the thread maker knows the person who wrote it in person, has some grudge against that person, wants to smear his/her name. Personally I would believe whoever published that essay online first.

If the student manages to prove s/he wrote it before Apr 18, 09, 11:32AM then the thread maker must be lying. Assuming the thread maker is telling the truth, let's hope that student hasn't submitted the essay before this thread was made.

Go ahead and post it online. It will have no actual effect on the client. You need to know that person's full name, if that student's a client, and s/he's graduated, then you can't do anything. The school/college/university will not retain copies of the essay so nothing to compare against what you post online. The student can then simply say it's someone else with the same name.

Let me guess: you asked a friend to help you with your essay by showing his. He trusted you then you posted his essay here so when he hands it in, or perhaps already did, you can make idiots think he plagiarised.

It won't work.

Nothing will happen. Chance is that student gave him a false name, changed a number of wording on that essay and handed it in. Even if you send it to universities no university webmaster will actually read let alone pass it to lecturers to read. They will delete it as spam.

Even if caught that student can claim s/he posted a draft online to get comments and this writer stole it, claiming it's his work.

There's nothing you can do.

Wise up.
