I am Bob, from Graduate Research Services. This thread has bothered me for some time. I have ignored it, but now that it is back on top, I might as well respond to it.

"Cutey Girl" ordered a paper from me with very short notice. When she placed the order, I warned her that there was insufficient time to write the paper. However, I let her talk me into taking the order anyway. That was my mistake, and I have regretted it ever since.
I was going to write the paper myself to help ensure that her deadline was met. Unfortunately, and as I predicted. I was unable to meet her deadline. There just was not enough time. I contacted the client and told her that the paper was not going to be ready in time. I also initiated a refund for the purchase. The client, instead of waiting for the refund, issued a chargeback on her credit card. Thus, a refund that should have taken 24 hours to get to the client ended up requiring a 90 day investigation by the credit card company and cost me about $50 in fees.
Academic writers may be good, but we are not miracle workers. People who expect a custom 20-page paper in only 72 hours have no appreciation for the amount of work that is required to write a paper like that. Meanwhile, we usually have other orders that are lined up to be written, which makes it even more difficult to work an exceptionally large paper into the calendar. Cutey girl waited until the last minute and was then angry because I did not bump someone who had the foresight to order early enough so we could produce a quality paper. It takes me, on average, about an hour to 90 minutes to write a page, depending on the topic. Sometimes, it takes longer. Long papers are even more difficult. I would rather write 4 10-page papers than write 1 40-page paper.
I take great pride in my work and I regret missing this client's deadline. I did not, however, try to rip her off. My biggest problem as a writer and business owner is that I let these clients talk me into taking orders that have impossible deadlines or that are otherwise unrealistic. That's what I get for trying to help people. Judging by the number of repeat customers that I have, I would say that the overwhelming majority of my clients have been very satisfied with their papers.
