The OP also mentioned some of the worst companies to write for. Not because of the penalties that they apply to the work of the writer (which they actually do), but because of the problematic payment system of those companies. These companies have been known to always pay the writers on a 3 months behind schedule. You work for free for 3 months, then they slowly roll out the salary, for every month, on a 2 week basis. It almost feels like you are working for free because of the unreasonable salary release schedule. These company have writer slaves, not writer employees. Any writer willing to stick it out with any of these companies deserves the delayed payment schedule he will eventually start complaining about.
