ESL Writers' Lounge

I think this would be a nice addition to this forum so I took the initiative to make it. ^_^ Let's treat this as an area where us ESL and probably off-shore writers can chat about our experiences with different companies and discuss which ones pay and which ones don't. Here's my input:

essaywriters.net = They pay but they can also be big pains in the ass at times. >.< They almost always put their interests first before their writers'. They also charge clients at least double of what they pay their writers (I think).

essaybay = Good system especially now that the instant paypal transfer is working. I've yet to have any difficulties from them after the instant transfer was made available. However, it's difficult to get clients since there are many writers who offer ridiculously low rates. Also, there still aren't that many people who use it yet.

Make the distinction: is this a lounge for "QUALIFIED, ESL writers" or a lounge for "UNQUALIFIED, ESL writers who intentionally deceive North American consumers about their qualifications"? I'm just curious, as all of your personal attacks against me suggest your belief that there is no distinction.

Academia Research: Tried it but never got around to doing a project for them. Their system seems difficult because you still have to wait for approval before you can begin on orders. Plus, they pay a bit less than ew. (Of course, this was several months ago so I don't know how much they've improved since then)

Another thing, please do exempt this area from your conflicts with EW.

Every time you two engage into your wars, the whole thought and purpose of the forum just goes away overshadowed by both of your arguments.

So please, give us ESLs some respect at least by considering the primary purpose of EW in creating this section:

You're suggesting that I am the one who engages in stereotyping and generalization? I would absolutely love for you to post a quote in which I have stated any such thing about "all" ESL writers.

So back to topic. What's evevryone else's reviews on the sites I've started commenting on?

Well, as for me, I've been writing for EW.net and Writers.ph, so far, i've already earned around P250k starting June last year.

W.ph pays their writer although they are really strict to plagiarism and poor work quality. I've noticed one common issue among those that complain against them - they've plagiarized and the company has to halt their payoffs.

I tried plagiarizing trice but they caught me. I even had huge fines because of those. Well, it's my fault anyway. I admit it and I've learned my lesson. Besides, if I place myself on the client's shoes, I really wouldn't want somebody to do that to me as well so I'm turning a new leaf.

Anyway, other sites that I've worked for are academia, academic-research and some other small firms.

Hey, EW, i've read that you have direct contacts to some clients. How do you obtain these? Can you suggest some tips? I'd really appreciate that.

When you and EW_writer stop posting in EVERY other thread, I'll stop posting in this one. Until then, I'll post whenever and wherever I like.

This site is for the purpose of essay writing controversies and not about writers' conflicts on one another. We are all writers/students or associated individuals involved in essay writing issues in one way or another.

For the record, I am not pertaining to WB, EW or anyone. I am generalizing. Ever since the fights began, the site's purpose has become nothing more than a quarrel zone. Let's try to make this site a lot more informative please... :)

That is all I have ever done. I inform the public and freelance writers about scams. EW_writer starts the fights because he doesn't like the information that I post. It's not good for his business.

What is it that you would like to know about any particular site or company?

well, to sum it up, majority of the people visiting the site only look for two things:

For the writers:

1. Who are frauds and who pays?

For the students:

1. Who are frauds and who write well?

You see, we cannot only criticize websites and writers. I understand the fact that advertising or promotion is not allowed here; however, we are not promoting if we tell the truth about the website. The site's purpose is to expose writing firms' standpoints and not entirely to defame them, unless the site is a type of black propaganda against the entire industry.

Just kidding. There're actually several avenues from which I have been able to acquire direct clients over the years. The latest ones come from this very message board. :) They sent me messages asking for my help and I responded. The problem with direct clients is that you should have a pretty good system of payment. Otherwise, they might just scam you. >.< Hasn't happened to me yet though. :)

Well, I did try it once but my thread was deleted.

I am a BSN research grad with specialization on health and physiology as well as other accessory topics (e.g history, management, etc.). I've been employed to various writing sites, but my principal source is from writers.ph. Most of my clients requesting for health-related topics provide me their grades after their instructors checked the paper.

Fortunately, I have never any submitted paper that's below A-. Anyway, EW how about other third-party websites? Where do you usually get them? And, if you don't mind, can I ask your country of origin? I'm from Philippines and proud to be one. (:>)

I hope you don't mind if I don't return the courtesy but i'm very strict about protecting my identity. I can say that I do come from one of the more impoverished countries in Asia and that I do have English as a second language. Regarding other 3rd party sites, best one I've tried is essay bay but it's not yet that popular.

hi, i just registered to this site like an hour ago and it seems that writers and students alike are here.. Meaning, the ones who will pay and the ones who will get paid, it sounds easy, we all want a no scam thing and good quality, so why can't it be a meeting ground wherein people can get what they need and writers get the full amount they should be getting?

This is not a site to peddle services. That's why.

They ALWAYS put their interests first when paying the writeus. The partners dictate a maximum payable amount, dependent on writer ranking, upon which the penalties will be based on. This will also be based upon the financial need of the company owner for the next r weeks, or month. The bigger his payables, the less the writers get paid. They have never been known to pay even their longest staying writer in full. You work for them, they don't work for you. Remember that.

I don't think dividing the writers through any qualification is necessary. It is the sharing of experiences that is important. The idea of the OP is, I think, to allow all the writers to share their good and bad experiences. All in the name of professional learning. We take the experience of others and apply it,as relevant, to our own situations. It doesn't have anything to do with ESL or ENL levels. The only consideration is the work experience. It should work similar to a hands-on seminar or training. Improve your skills and learn how to deal with management in different scenarios based on relevant shared information in this thread.

ESL writers usually don't have the same opportunities as ENL writers and ENL writers don't often find themselves having no choice but to work for the kinds of companies that typically employ ESL writers; they also typically work for very different pay scales. So, almost nothing that's "relevant" to ESL writers as relates to writing for companies is "relevant" to me, for example, and vice-versa; nor is there likely to be very much that we could "learn" from one another's experiences. I can definitely understand why the OP thought that it might be worth having a thread for ESL writers to share their experiences with other ESL writers.
