I am furious. I am writing for WritePass. I sent my invoice and they will not pay me. They say they got somebody else to do it. But they didn't tell me. They are fraudsters and thieves. Also they say English writers, not true. Liars.

Hello 'DND2012'

I review writer's work for WritePass. I just wanted to comment on your remarks, as I feel they might give a less than impartial impression of the company. I've been working for them for 3 years, starting (like you) as an essay writer, and I've stayed with them because I like the way they work and I like the people who run it. I've worked for agencies I'd never touch again with a bargepole as well.

WritePass have a review process which is designed to give clients a good service. I didn't like it when it was introduced - as a writer I felt it was just another hoop to jump through before getting paid. Quite frankly it hurt my pride to have to revise work. But it's there for a reason - so the client doesn't get ripped off.

The problem with the work you submitted was that it just wasn't of an acceptable standard. There were many grammatical mistakes, and insufficient references. The aims and objectives were unclear (in a dissertation this is really important), your arguments weak and your logic in places faulty or poorly thought-out. Finally, the structure was inappropriate, with sections of the literature review placed in the methodology (for example). If you were a client who had paid good money for a decent piece of work, would you be happy to get something substandard? I know I wouldn't.

There are always two sides to the delayed payment issue for writers. One side of the story, is that the company is a scam that tries to find every way of delaying the payment of their writers. The other is that the writer's work is so bad in terms of quality that the company had to refund the payment to the client. Now, since you did not really tell us the basis for the company deciding not to pay for your submitted work after you sent the invoice, it is extremely difficult for me to take sides regarding this issue. I also do not believe that someone from the QAD of that company can come here to make a judgement on your case because you definitely are not using the same name at the company and at this forum. So this becomes a case of "he said, she said", which means either one of you is lying or you are both telling only half truths regarding the salary matter. Whatever the case though, I hope that you are able to resolve it because no writer deserves to go unpaid for the work done. By the way, I don't have much faith in the QAD of any company because their main task, it to find ways to prevent making payments to the writers so that the company can drive their slave labor tactics even further.

Well, if you were ever in their employ as a writer then the quality of their papers definitely sucks

I employ a third party to help remit the payments that I send out to my writers. They receive their payment on time, every time. However, there are some gray area writing companies that hire an accountant and a third party payment arm to help them delay the payments to their writers. This is done by companies that want to get writers to work for free. They pretend that the money is delayed on the remitting arm so as not to admit that the owner of the company spent all the money and has to wait for the next round of clients to con so that he might be able to pay a few of his writers on a delayed basis. I am really sad that this happened to the OP, regardless of his English writing skills, he deserves to be paid for work completed, specially if the client did not file a refund claim with the company or anything like that.

I heard that this company no longer exists because they could not pay their writers. The owners were greedy and did not really concern themselves with setting aside any funds for the writers salary. They paid the writers that they wanted to pay and let the others suffer. They paid the writers they liked and did not pay the writers that did not sit well with them for some reason. Anyway, the company no longer exists which is good for the students but I bet that they did not pay back dues to the writers that they let go without advance notice.

It's not at all uncommon for failing essay companies to squeeze as much work as possible out of their writers before closing shop without ever paying them for their last month's work.
