The Best Writers, I got totally scammed and ignored (email correspondence)

goosekiller2002  1 | 3

I contracted for a dissertation proposal to be researched for me. I went out of my way to make sure that this was a reputable company and spoke with the leader of the writing staff, James Robb. You can see by the e-mail string that I was lied to:

Dissertation Proposal- James on the telephone said he would do the paper for me (writer 114).
- James then said he found a writer for me.
- The deadline expired and I was NEVER contacted or updated.
- When I checked on it, I got no response from James.
- I escalated to Mala, the owner.
- Mala said James was ill and she would take on the paper herself.
- Mala said I would be "delighted" with the work and receive a full refund since the deadline was not met -- per their policy.

There was not a single pro-active e-mail, web message or telephone call from any person at The Best Writers during my month long ordeal.

After numerous delays and false promises, no work has been delivered, nor a refund processed. Mala and James have not responded to any phone calls or e-mails for a week. I got SCAMMED. I paid $380 to get a 10 page dissertation proposal and I have NOTHING to show but a month of frustration.

Mala & James- the hours fly by and still no response from either of you. I have done everything within my power to be a great customer. I spoke with James for almost an hour before I engaged your company to help me. I thought I had done my homework and had found a company that MIGHT be okay.

My concerns and fears about using a service has now totally been validated. I can do this work, I completed my PhD coursework at 4.0 and a near perfect on my comps. I took a risk and trusted you and your company. I took James' advise as he said "just try us for a draft of the proposal."

I have now been waiting for a month for the completion of work that was supposed to take 7 days. I received e-mails that lead me to believe that research I paid for was just moments from being sent to me.

I am left at a point where I need to use the only leverage I have -- the power of the internet. If I don't receive the order by Noon PST, Sunday 9/26 then I will post to every consumer website I can find this entire e-mail string. I placed an order...I paid...I even offered extensions on the delivery time so that the work didn't have to "slam" Mala's time. I thought I was being a sympathetic and accommodating customer, even though it made me miss a deadline at school. I now wonder if James was even ill? I am probably just a naive sucker that got scammed by your company.

The first set of websites that I will post to:

essayscam.org

If I had received ANY type of communication over the past 4 days, I would not be at this point. James took my call on Thursday and said he was going to text Mala -- I have checked my account twice daily and my e-mail twice daily. There has bee NOTHING communicated. This situation can be resolved if you want it to be. -John

Hello Mala and James- it is Friday 9/24 8am PST/4pm GMT and I have not received any communication since Tuesday 9/21. Could I please have the courtesy of a response?

In 3 days it will be 1 month since I paid for my order which had a 7 day turn-around. If there is work completed, I would appreciate receiving it. I do not understand the lack of communication as I have been very flexible. -John

Mala & James- I am so baffled. I thought I had been an accommodating customer...understanding James' medical challenges and then giving Mala extra days, well beyond the commitment date she set for herself to complete the proposal. I've been given firm and final commitments -- I am the only one proactively communicating.

It is now Thursday, 11am PST and I have had zero contact since Tuesday when Mala said the paper needed 2 more hours in plagiarism checker.

Can I PLEASE have a status update? I engaged your service to reduce my stress level and I have ended up in an untenable situation that has been far more stressful than doing the research myself. If you do not intend on completing my order, please let me know so that I can move on. -John

Mala & James- I just checked my account, no paper. It is 9am PST on Wednesday -- 5pm in UK.

At this point I would appreciate an honest answer. If I need to give up, write off my $380, and file this in my "lessons learned" bucket than I'd like to know this now versus another stalled week. -John

John, do you have access to ProQuest Dissertation and thesis (database of all theses submitted across the world over the past 30 years and more)? Search for XXXXXX - not one thesis on it. Search for XXXXXX- you will find a few but the topic remains new. Yours will actually be the very first to discuss this particular topic - this, in itself, is an academic achievement of tremendous import. I want the write up to live up to the potential and to exceed it, if you know what I mean.

(Detail removed to protect topic and client)

You have come up with an excellent idea and it has to be perfect, not good or very good but, perfect

The interesting thing - the addictive thing - is your topic. It is new! I want it to make a mark, if you know what I mean. Do not want it to be about XXXXXXXXX - to date I have personally written over a doze dissertations on that topic. Adding in XXXXXX - exploiting it for that purpose - that is something new - unique and A BRILLIANT TOPIC. I did finish proposal but as an outsider - that is why i am going into it and want to rewrite it as an INSIDER.

I promise you that you will not be disappointed - this study is right up my alley and we really do not want to give it to any of our writers, including the OD ones, as we will feel more comfortable should we, in this case me, do it.

I have been doing the research and collecting the material these past days and I promise that you will like the work. Mala, I just logged in to the web site and now see a delivery commitment of 3:45 am, tomorrow. You of course have the upper hand because now I can only wait...it is too late for me to do this work. Had I known 9 days ago that this proposal draft would be postponed, I could have done it over the past two weekends.

What is the actual probability of getting the proposal in the next 24 hours?

I spent considerable time researching companies and spoke directly with James and my skepticism of trusting a company to complete my request. His reassurances that your company was reputable and produced good work convinced me to try your company.

I am really discouraged by my experience...I would feel differently if I had been at any time PROACTIVELY communicated with that commitments needed to be adjusted. I have been totally blindsided and disappointed least 3 times over the past 2 weeks. I login and pray for an update.

Please let me know the status of my order. Regards, John

I thought I had plenty of time to spend with the proposal and add to it, based on the original commitment of having a proposal delivered late last Friday.

Tomorrow will be a full week beyond the original commitment and I have no idea if I'll even have work delivered by then.

Can I ask you to get to me a realistic date for when the proposal will be ready? Thanks, John

Hi James- I just logged into my account. I do not have any message, nor a completed assignment. The due date that someone re-set last Friday as a new completion time was early this morning 9/7, about 12:30am.

Do you have any idea when the proposal will be ready? I want a quality proposal and thought the outline I provided was clear enough to understand the topics/complexity of the paper. I am bumping up against a deadline that I set with my mentor, based on the dates you and I discussed. I still need to spend several days with the written work and references before submitting. Can you let me know today, with certainty, when the proposal will be available? Thanks, John

Dear John,
Thank you for signing up as a customer and we would like to take this opportunity to explain why this is an excellent decision.
While there are countless websites which offer a comparable service to those within The Best Writers network, and some are, indeed, excellent in every way. None, however, offer the range, quality and benefits which we do.

With regards to range, note that we are among the very few (if not the only one) to offer:
1) Tutoring Services
2) Research Assistance Services
3) Comprehensive University/College management application services
4) Medical Research Writing Services
5) Academic Advisory Services

With regards to quality, we are definitely one of the very very few who
1) Actually do have a Quality Control Department staffed by professionals
2) Actually check our writers' academic qualifications
3) Actually only hire linguistically fluent writers (most are American, British and Australian but a handful are ESL with superb command of the English language)
4) Actually interview and test writers prior to accepting them
5) Actually are primarily British (with minority Australian and American ownership), both in corporate registration and in company owner nationality
6) Actually are a legitimate, registered company which has to adhere to Consumer Protection, Consumer Rights and Service Quality laws and regulations

With regards to benefits, they are too numerous to enumerate but the short list is:
1) We are the only model custom writing service which gives clients the copyright to the work they orders through us
2) We are the only model custom writing service which a) never resells, publishes or otherwise uses any part of the work received from us and b) has completely and utterly stripped itself of the legal right to resell, publish or otherwise use, in whole or in part, any work which any customer receives from any of our Academic Research and Service Division (The Best Writers network)

3) We are the only company which provides customers with a signed, legal, Non Disclosure and Confidentiality Contract
4) We are the only company which does not simply deliver the work but, explains it to the customer and takes the time to actually tutor the customer on the topic, when and if requested

5) We are the only company which is transparent about its ownership and the websites which it owns and operates
6) We are the only company which provides customers with an accurate plagiarism report, using the same engine which your university does but ensuring that it is never stored on the `repository' (student paper database). Others who provide such reports either use their own software (and store the paper) and provide you with a free report or, use their own software (store the paper) and provide you with a report at a fee.

7) We are among the rare handful of companies whose writers are academically qualified, experienced researchers and linguistically fluent (unless otherwise stated, native English language speakers)

Your trust in us will be rewarded and you will only ever be fully satisfied with our service and work.

So, welcome to our company!
Regards,
Customer Support

Hello James, thank you for your time yesterday. I appreciate your willingness to discuss the services offered by your company. As I mentioned, I am only interested in a company that will give me exclusivity to the research work that I pay for and provide confidentiality. I need to know that the writer is competent in my topic as it pertains to XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX and the use of XXXXXXXXX.

I currently have a dissertation topic: "XXXXXXXXXX?"(If you see a better way to phase this, it can be changed)

Attached is a high-level proposal that I submitted to my mentor. I have not decided upon a survey methodology at this point and could go with qualitative or quantitative based on the writer/researcher's feedback. As I mentioned, I found what looks to be a good company that specializes in Chapter 3.

I have also attached my school's dissertation handbook. I double checked and do not see a minimum requirement for pages. I have read 15-20 dissertations from the school and the written component is usually 125 to 200 pages, excluding bibliography/reference pages.

My priority: Submit a proposal for the dissertation. I'd then like to follow-up with Chapter 1 right after the proposal. I would then need Chapter 2.

After submitting Chapters 1-3, I would then get approval form my Mentor and Committee to do research. I have a good plan to complete a survey. I would then need your help for survey analysis and writing of chapters 4 and 5.

Can you look at the topic and let me know if you think this would be a good paper for you to take on?

I would like to place an order for the proposal if you think you or your partner has the expertise. Thank you, John Smith

Hi James- I'd like to submit chapters as "pieces" to my advisor for feedback -- beginning with Chapter 1 then either 3 or 2 next. I need to get Proposal approval from my school.

I would then initiate the research survey and come back with the data in order to complete chapters 4 and 5.

Do you have researchers on staff that analyze the data or would I be best to engage with a different Statistics/SPSS consultant for the data interpretation and then come back to your services for Chapters 4 & 5.

Can you tell me what the estimate is per page and what you have seen as an average for dissertations that your writers produce? I've looked at many current dissertations and they range from 125 pages to 200, excluding references.

If you are in TX, perhaps we can have a quick call to resolve these questions.

Thank you, John

I sympathize with your frustration! As someone who has been writing for such a company for several months, I wonder if I might offer some insights. First, the company may be just totally incompetent, and dishonest, and so forth. ANother possibility is what happened to me recently and which still gives me 'agita'. There was an essay called for, on a topic which was very interesting to me. However, as I looked at the VERY specific materials which were called for, I realized that the customer had not uploaded everything needed, nor provided the requisite access to their library off-campus website. It took forever to obtain even a portion of these items, and as the very short deadline approached, I found more and more stuff which had NOT been included. SInce this was an essay that was supposed to draw on ALL the materials, specifically, it would not even have been helpful to find some of these very specialized materials elsewhere on the web, publicly available. Specific pages and so forth were asked for. Time went on, the deadline came closer, and I finally said that I could not commit to it. If I had undertaken this, I would have ended up being penalized and paying the company for the privilege of staying up all night, and would not have been able to absorb and then regurgitate the material competently! I still wonder what happened to that customer, although of course the company will tell me nothing, and does not even care that I am concerned.

I should make clear that I never actually bid on this order. I did try to move the order details and accompanying files to the point where I, or other writers, could evaluate the order for its feasibility and congruence with personal expertise.

I do not know whether any of these issues are occurring in your case. Does the writer have access to all the materials you would use if you were writing this yourself? If not, and if they are not as assertive as I am, they may be floundering.

I am beginning to wonder how I could go out independently - I enjoy this sort of thing, but the pay is roughly equivalent to a third world minimum wage, and the company I am with treats me like they are behind the Iron Curtain.

You are justified to be concerned - even if you have not provided what the writer needs, the writer has an obligation to get back to you, and the company has an even greater obligation.

Good luck and God bless!

The company has contacted me and sent me information that confirms the research was posted on September 24th. I did not download or view the work. A credit to my charge card was issued per company policy. The company was derelict in their communication which led to our misunderstandings.

writer not responding?!

So I ordered a paper at the Best Writers CO LLC and wrote the writer some further instructions after the order has been taken. He has not responded since. Should I be worried that he is not going to follow my instructions?

However, I also read this in their TOS:

"If you have not included a link to our website in the Bibliography of your paper and/or have copied and submitted all or parts of the completed project as your own, this guarantee may be null and void."

are they serious about this? it is not that i am planning to hand in the same exact paper what I get from them since I am also writing further on the topic. I just need a bit of help to improve my paper but I can't just list them as a reference since my tutor would totally let me fail if I list an essay writing service as a reference.

If this is really the case I rather dont use their paper at all. I don't even want it anymore.

Or is this term just a "fake" term so they can operate legally?

I don't think there is anything to panic this much. You should sit back and wait. The writer will respond to you.

it's not just the writer who does not respond. its also their TOS which makes me panic. I should have read that before I payed. I dont want them to report me to my university. I rather fail and attend another class than get humiliated because of that. it's not worth it.

They won't do this. Such rules are made to protect themselves in case if you ask for a refund;

Or is this term just a "fake" term so they can operate legally?

I personally report all clients I suspect of academic dishonesty (or just refuse to work with them). If you order a paper to cheat, don't be surprised you might get busted.
