CourseworkMojo, DissertationMojo, DissertationGuru, EssayMojo, AssignmentMojo - all big scams! AVOID!!!!

Hi all,

So, I ordered a paper (Literature Review at Masters level) from CourseworkMojo (courseworkmojo.co.uk) on 11th June.
First, I talked to one of their "Customer Support" guys on their website, asking questions about their services, price range and so on.

Then, I sent an e-mail to them (as per requested by the guy) detailing the instructions for my paper - topic, referencing style, length, deadline (19th June) and an outline of the points I wanted to be included in the Literature Review.

I also sent all the materials required (by my supervisor) and needed to follow attached to the e-mail.
Once the order had been confirmed by their "Writing Department", I paid for the whole paper via PayPal (verified account).
All went through very smoothly and they sounded very enthusiastic and so on...

And here come the problems, very frustrating problems:

1) Their "Customer Support" then promised to deliver my paper by 18/06 night (the night before the deadline).
So I placed my order on the 11th June, waited for a couple of days then contacted them to ask for a preview (of whatever that had been done so far).

First they refused to give me the preview, but then contacted me again (after 02 more days) and said they would ask the writers to provide it. Nothing happened!

Then on 18th June, after midnight, I contacted them asking why my paper had not been delivered. They said the deadline was then 12pm on 19th June because my order said so!? So I waited, since my actual deadline was 2pm.

Over 12.30pm on 19th June, still nothing! I tried to call them but no one answered. I went on their chat box and they said my paper was at the ending phase and needed a bit more time, blah blah blah...

2pm passed, and I was frustrated and completely lost my patience as they had missed the deadline not once but twice!
I told them that I would open a dispute on PayPal to claim a refund, at which point they threatened to not deliver my paper if I did not close the dispute.

Some frustrating e-mail exchange, and they eventually sent me the paper, 2.51pm (almost 15 hours passed the deadline).
- On their website, they promise "Timely Delivery" - FAILED! -

2) It did not stop there. Their writing was a complete mess and did not follow my instructions or outline at all. Turnitin report said the plagiarism level was over 35%.

Not only that, their points did not make any sense. My supervisor, after having reviewed the paper, told me if I was joking with him.

No academic references, lots of irrelevant points, misleading arguments... You name it!

3) At first, after having received my paper, I asked them to revise the paper since it did not meet any pre-specified criteria.
No reply on e-mail, no answering on the phone, complete and utter ignorance.
- On their website, they promise "Unlimited Free Revisions", "Quality Assurance" - FAILED! -

4) Whenever I contacted them about preview of my paper, revision, or query about my paper, my e-mails and calls were either avoided, or delayed, or very unfriendly dealt with.

The only occasions they responded very quickly and nicely were when I placed the order, made the payment and filed a dispute on PayPal. Seems legit!

There was one occasion when I was asking them about the problem on the website, they asked me to wait and then just quit out of the chatbox. So I asked my friend to use another computer to get on there and they were all welcoming very nicely!?

5) When dealing with the dispute claim that I filed on PayPal, they continuously asked me to close it without providing any satisfactory solution.
I kept getting e-mails like "Please kindly close the dispute so that we can resolve things" and such...
I sent them a refund request on PayPal and they cancelled it after 05 minutes!!!! Very quick and efficient customer services, right?

So I called PayPal and asked them to investigate. No luck since they cannot take cases on services.
PayPal directed me to Trading Standards Institute where they take on broader coverage of customer protection and I have requested an investigation from them.

I then called my bank and asked for an immediate refund and an investigation to all aspects of the transactions (details of sellers, their behaviors, reviews...).

Later on today, I found that they (Coursework Mojo) were also operating under the names like EssayMojo and AssignmentMojo.

I am writing this on here today, so that people who go to Google and seek reviews on those three (maybe more) sites can avoid those scammers.

Has anyone used any of those sites? I'm very struggling with my dissertation at the moment and my deadline is very soon, these sites offer urgent services and can deliver work in a couple of days so I thought to ask one of them to help. Currently I cannot find any comments about them on internet so please share some comments if you had experiences with them. Thanks.

These two comments are astroturfed. Meaning they are from competitors doing the dirty work, may there business falters soon. amen.

Your claim that the site's owners are from Pakistan is frivolous as the thread's title already indicates that. Further, given your history of intentionally maligning foreign websites, you're not the best person to expose potential frauds.

I'm really peed off with this company.. I also got scammed by these guys. Should of done my research to begin with so i guess it's my own fault. I did some research and found another article online which explains what happened to someone else here: ninjamarketingforum.com/showthread.php?tid=876

I can't believe these guys get away with this it's a joke. Anyone reading this my recommendation is to stay clear and save your money.

I have written for a couple of the more reputable online companies and have never had complaints or issues from the clients they provided me. In fact repeat work from the same client was pretty common in the end. However, a word of warning, the quality of work varies considerably across writers, even in these better companies. I have witnessed some pretty shoddy essays from colleagues - but luckily QC would (or should) prevent them from being sent out. The problem seems to be the pay peanuts scenario - researchers are paid a little over 20 per 500 words (undergraduate 2:1) delivered in 5 days. Students get charged 2-3 times that amount. So the best case scenario would be to source a writer direct......Sorry not much help if you've already been scammed, but maybe this will help other students looking for help :)

Just had a call from essaymojo, which followed our on-line discussion. They claimed to be in Surrey UK, but they could not prove anything. Apparently they are still working on a freephone UK number, they don't have any numbers to call, they will always call you, and they did. The guy had american accent, but certainly was not from USA, albeit speaking good english. The domain registration reviles:

Just want to let you know that DISSERTATIONMOJO is the shi*test website to order any work. i have suffered quite badly after paying such a huge money and getting the sh|est quality work which doesn't make sense at all. so before you even think about ordering any work from this website let me tell you as an experienced suffered customer that they talk all bull on how great the service is blah blah and all those feedback which is basically written by themselves, and most important they are bloody freshy who can't even write english properly. so guys if you want to waste your money then do so but for those please think twice.

Despirial-- The idea is that Ukrainian and Pakistani companies can't produce essays in a recognizable Western English, thus being ripoffs.

There is the thin argument that maybe the student is from Pakistan, and wants an essay in their own sort of English to match. It's a stretch to believe that an essay company would be able to survive in that niche, though, especially in an industry saturated and dominated by companies from Western English-speaking countries supplying a product valuable to those enrolled in Western English-speaking universities.

The "recommended services" tab is your friend.

Those services are not exactly "independent" of this forum, and I've seen no way for other legitimate companies to be considered/added. Proper disclosure is definitely an issue.

For a while, my go-to was, "go to Essaychat with that request," but then I started feeling kind of bad, since that's basically like giving them wrong directions on purpose.

Essaychat is a joke, as far as the number of incompetent buffoons is concerned. I rarely visit that site because the ads make my skin crawl.

These companies are scams that continue to run their con on students who do not know any better. They really know how to work the students and use words to get what they want out of the students. They have pretty good convincing power and often, seem to magically convince the students to use their services. Even students who have doubts hire them, only to be sorry in the end. Their sales people can really work the pitch so beware when dealing with any of these companies.

Uh, you cannot make a blanket accusation like that and just leave it at that. Unlike other forums, ES requires all accusations to be backed up by hard facts and evidence you may have on hand. That is because one of our aims is to properly warn the students of scam sites, based on gathered information. Otherwise, you just look like a disgruntled former writer of the company wanting to get back at them. If you can, please present additional evidence to support your claims. I mean, we already know there is a possibility that the site you mention is a scam, as they usually are, but we need more than just your ranting and raving to convince us of that fact.
