the essayist - good reputation, but I'm worried I've been scammed!

I can't say definitively that I've been scammed, and it may very well be that the company is suffering temporarily from a bit of disorganization or tech problems. However, my experience has been not particularly great, and I'm worried that I'll never get a refund.

In early August, I submitted an order for eight model pages. They were submitted to me on time, and while they weren't well-written, I wasn't going to complain about that (I didn't necessarily need any ideas, I just needed to get over a case of writer's block). Unfortunately, only four pages were completed, so I asked for a partial refund.

At first, I was offered a 20% refund and the rest of the completed pages. I accepted this offer, and heard nothing back. When I contacted them again, I was told that I would receive a full refund. A week passed without a refund, and I contacted them again. They said it was most likely a bank error, and that they would send another refund slip.

It's been two weeks now since I was guaranteed a full refund, and now I'm not even getting responses when I inquire about it. I'm hoping there is some legitimate reason for the lack of refund, but I'm becoming seriously concerned. I will be sure to post an update!

Update: Received a refund...of only $80. For a $280 promised refund. I wish I knew what was going on!

An essayist at workYou have every reason in the world to be worried:

1) we do not suffer fools gladly
2) we do not tolerate any who attempt to scam us
3) you ordered 2000 words and received 1,750 prior to the deadline
4) you subsequently received a revision compensating for the difference in word count, etc
5) you were promised a 20% refund for the inconvenience

If you want us to post the proof here, please note that we will not conceal your name as they will be screenshots from the processor's webpages - screenshots which show that you initially lied. The refund was sent ages ago. Strange that you should admit it after the `email.'

No - we do not respond to 10's of emails regarding the same issue 24/7. If you have nothing better to do, we cerainly have.

Do you want the screenshots up there, Ann?

By the way - as per your email, you were very happy with the work received. Look - when it comes to our reputation, we have no problem posting screenshots proving that we are being truthful. The screenshots will cost you though, as your name, addy, etc., will all be up there FOREVER.

AND, YES, IN CASE YOU ARE WONDERING, THIS IS A THREAT - A THREAT TO ALL WHO LIE AN TRY TO SCAM US.

By the way, 20% of $280 is $56. You received $80 which is $24 more than promised!!!!!!

I am sorry if there has been a misunderstanding (there must be, since I'm getting conflicting information now). As I said before, thessayist has a great reputation, so I was seriously confused. Are you in contact with H at all/are you H?

On September 8th, she sent me this message:

<<You will receive a full refund, plus a permanent discount code issued for your use. Your writer was fired.

We need till tomorrow to make the arrangements

Sent from my iPad>>

Perhaps my order was mixed up with another? Here is a screenshot that proves that my refund only just went through: i54.tinypic.com/qoj67q.jpg

There are almost no complaints about this company, so I am sure this must be some kind of mix-up. I do wish this conversation didn't have to take place in a public sphere, but no one will answer my emails - and I think I have the right to be a little confused.

Read your email.

100% plus posting of paper - is this what you want?

As I said - do you want me to post the full refund (as in when we refunded, not when you received, and the emails)? We cannot conceal your name or address, etc. Your choice. Make it now

As I jut told you in response to your email:

My email - before and after this one stated 20% if corrections were not received on time. They were. Do you want me to post the proof on essayscam?

I am avoiding that thus far as I want to maintain your anonymity. You aren't giving me much choice, though, are you?

Join the club; I required the use of the service about the same time as you. I have had email after email assuring me everything was legitimate- that they, thessayist was not in the habit to taking advantage of people.

Well, three months later and 8 pages of email communication, I have failed my term awaiting papers that had a due date of December 20, 2011.
Excuses were that there were not enough staffers before Christmas holidays and the were swamped and "could hardly cathc their breath" Not sure why that became my problem- I ordered with a deadline before any holiday rush.

Then the issue was, "in case I hadn't noticed" it was the holidays, "still is infact til January 2,2012." Funny, millions of others in the world work the few days between xmas and new years.

My papers were due December 20.

In addition, I have been promised a refund for earlier work that returned a mark of 40%- despite being paid for an A+- some "colleague" suggested a full refund.

This was a lie and Hm bever intended on refunding a single penny- there was a panic to get money for orders and payment was required within 2 days of each other though on their end! One was sent to Egypt the other to the US.

Accounting was doing month end and they had to close books for the month! Hurry Hurry!

December 20 came and went and I pleaded with the majority owner- K to send my papers.

Then all communication stopped. Kh has not answered a single email since December 28 or so- 8 days past my deadline as per the university.

I did some google searching of the "registered" company and found one partner from Springfield Illinois- who is listed as the general legal counsel of the organization. Shayne Aldridge, Esq. does appear to have a law practice and when I sent to him about my concerns, thinking I'd rather deal with a North American with honest business practices, he asked me to have patience and that he'd investigate my claims.

Despite knowing that I was hours away from a final deadline; nothing transpired and my orders were still not delivered.More than half are still listed as NOT COMPLETE, despite deadlines of early December and mid- November in one case.

Bottom line for me is that I have failed my term because I was not made aware that they were unable to fulfill my order and despite all the bs on their website- Kh is a thief. BTW- Khalek works in the investment banking industry. My next moves will be to inform employers of these moonlighting business practices.

When I started to gripe about service Kh write back saying all would be handled personally by him/her. He/she held an alphabet of degrees and was a prolific writer. More NONSENSE - this guy/woman can't even spell and I wasn't aware they gave degrees for FRAUD.

They have stolen from me- and ended my term with a failing grade.
I will be seeking compensation.

On their website it is stated that they hire only native english speakers. However, upon logging on to their customer area the following writers come up:

Full Name: HK
City: Cairo
Country: Egypt
Primary Qualification: English Literature
Secondary Qualification (if any): Business
Tertiary Qualification (if any): Law
Writer ID: 2935

Name: Gugulethu
City: Johannesburg
Country: South Africa
Primary Qualification: Communications
Secondary Qualification (if any): None
Tertiary Qualification (if any): None
Writer ID: WSLWAIZ108

Their company number is of strange configuration 6669933 and can't be traced back neither in the UK nor in the Australian register, and I wouldn't say that they are registered in the USA either.
