EssayWriter.co.uk warning!

Used xxx.EssayWriter.co.uk this past term and unfortunately the essay that the writer there wrote failed at around 40% when I'd ordered an essay at 2:1 (60-69%) with some supposed 100% satisfaction guarantee "2:1 standard every time-or your money back". What a load BS that turned out to be.

Background> I placed my order with the company, provided loads of information and also uploaded subject outline (scanned). Writer was assigned to essay, first draft came which I asked for some amendments (incorrect references and lacked references where it was evident they were needed/should have been). The next day I received email notification that my amendment request had been received and had been forwarded to the writer. Then later day I received an email from EssayWriters (UK) that my order was now complete and my essay was attached. After downloading and reading the essay, it needed further amendments and modification, but running out of time did the best I could with what I had at the time. I then submitted the essay to the Uni. The next day imagine my surprise to find another email from EssayWriters (UK) that attached was my now amended order and sorry for the delay. Yeah like thanks for that, I've already amended what I was told was the completed essay (the day previous).

Essay Writer UKAlmost a month later I got the essay back, FAIL 40%

Send EssayWriters (UK) an email advising them that the essay failed and reminding them of the 100% satisfaction guarantee "2:1 standard every time-or your money back"

Please email marker's feedback sheet and as soon as we receive it, we will have our management look into the matter for you.

Here's what they wrote...

"We would like to expound on why we cannot process a refund on this order.

1. as we offer a non-tangible product we can only process refunds if we are unable to deliver an order or we are unable to amend it. In your case, your order has been delivered to you and we have amended the work based on your amendment request.

2. the writer has been paid for work done on this order and we are unable to recover any of the fees paid to him.

3. you have already made use of the work and had sent in your feedback to the work. Hence, when the final version of the brief was sent to you we took it as confirmation that the quality of the work we sent met the requirements you have ordered for.

Moreover, we would like to point out that we do not guarantee the final mark for any piece of work we deliver. We can only guarantee the standard of the works we provide our customers by assigning a researcher who specialises in their subject area. We make sure that the researcher assigned to the order has earned the same degree mark on the subject. However, we do not guarantee the final mark awarded by your university as it is subjective and largely depends on the tutor's opinion. Your paper could have received a higher mark from another university. "

EssayWriter (UK) then go on to offer me a small (token) discount on any subsequent order.

When I point out the 100% satisfaction guarantee 2:1 standard every time-or your money back, here's the reply.

"it states on the terms of use, that the 2:1 guarantee does not apply if the customer opts to send the work back to us for amendments.

5.4. If the customer chooses to have the work amended, then the 2:1 standard guarantee does not apply.

In your case, you have sent an amendment request to us where you have stated you were fairlyhappy with the results.

This is not disclosed anywhere readily accessible on the website, and one cannot even find a "terms and conditions" tab on the homepage

We would also like to remind you that the work we produce is not supposed to be handed in to your university as though you wrote it yourself. EssayWriter, as a responsible and legitimate UK company, only provides model answers or study guides for students to come up with their own work. We are sorry if you are under the mistaken impression that we guarantee the customer's final mark for the work, however, this is clearly not the case. The work we produce is not intended to be handed-in as your own work as this constitutes plagiarism which we do not support. Again, we quote from our Terms of Use:

Hold on then, isn't the 100% satisfaction guarantee then just completely misleading and a misrepresentation

16.1 The customer agrees that they do not hold the copyright of the work supplied to them by Essaywriter.

That's all very well to cover your arse, but if the essays are supposedly only meant as model answers then the company cannot offer a guarantee of a 2:1 standard work and you do not achieve that standard, we assure you that you will get your money back.

18.8 The customer agrees that they take full responsibility when ordering work from Essaywriter and that Essaywriter is not liable for any decisions taken on behalf of the customer. The customer should always check with their university guidelines to make sure that purchasing from Essaywriter does not contravene their university's rules.

Your order has been completed for you to use it as a model answer, just like any journal or article you can download from the Internet. We do not offer a piece of work ready for you to type in your name and your student number so you can submit it to your university as though you wrote it yourself.

Again in fact this was not done as there were changes that needed to be made to make the essay suitable for submission, albeit small alterations but alterations and amendments none the less

Moreover, as the work we produce is supposed to be used as a model answer only and we do not expect our customers to hand it in themselves, then we are obviously not able to guarantee the final mark that the customer will receive for his own work.

This then nullifies the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee 2:1 standard every time-or your money back. Which therefore makes EssayWriters claim as false and misleading advertising, sure the customer complaints authorities in the UK would take a dim view of that.

17.3 The customer agrees that in no way does the 2:2, 2:1 or 1st standard constitute a guarantee of the mark awarded to the submission of the customer's work. The company does not guarantee any customer's final mark.

That's funny and I read exactly the opposite claim here, "2:1 standard every time-or your money back. We are confident in the quality of the custom essays we produce. If you order a 2:1 standard work and you do not achieve that standard, we assure you that you will get your money back."

Regarding your tutor's comments, we have reviewed it in detail and again we would like to state that the final mark depends largely on your tutor's opinion. We do appreciate you sending the documents to us and we believe that if you had provided us the same feedback within the 7-day free amendment period, your writer would have been able to improve the work.

The issue is that no matter the argument over subjective marking or otherwise (which is why marking criteria were included), at the end of the day it's the mark/grade from the Uni that counts. Not my view, not EssayWriters view.

Lastly, your writer has been paid in full when the order was completed and we are not able to recover any of the monies paid to him. Even if we were, we would not be willing to recover the fees paid to him because he has done his part of the contract which is to supply a 2:1 standard essay based on your order requirements and submit it on time. He has toiled on this order and we see absolutely no reason to penalise him for something that is not his fault. Again, we remind you that we have not received any further feedback from yourself within your amendment period, hence, we completed your order on the assumption that you were happy with the quality of the work.

The problem with this is that the essay did NOT meet the 2:1 standard as evidenced by the 40% FAIL grade awarded. Not his fault for failing to write a 2:1 standard, well since that's what I paid for and did not receive it must be Goldilocks and the three bears fault then.

Our Terms of Use state the following information regarding refunds:

1.5 The customer acknowledges that no refunds will be provided once Essaywriter has allocated a writer to complete the custom essay and the payment has been made.

Again this is in stark contrast to what's written in the 'Our Guarantees Page.' - 2:1 standard every time-or your money back. We are confident in the quality of the custom essays we produce. If you order a 2:1 standard work and you do not achieve that standard, we assure you that you will get your money back.

18.2 The customer agrees to be bound by Essaywriter's refund policies. Due to the specialist type of service provided, only in exceptional circumstances where there has been non delivery of an order or we are unable to amend an order for the customer, Essaywriter may at its discretion provide a partial/full refund or discount for any future order to the customer.

Hmm, interesting this also contradicts 'Our Guarantees Page.' - 2:1 standard every time-or your money back.

18.6 The customer accepts that if they use the work produced by Essaywriter in full or in part, they relinquish all claims stipulated above as the act constitutes a breach of contract.

If one makes any request for amendments then you lose the 100% guarantee -WTF!

Looks like chargeback time... shame on you... such a supposedly reputable company called EssayWriters.co.uk trading in the UK for the past seven-eight odd years.

I know it's a friggin long winded post! Just wanted to ad though that the 'terms and conditions' page at EssayWriters.co.uk the link: essaywriter.co.uk/termsandconditions.aspx to which cannot be found from the homepage is not to dissimilar to UKessays.com as posted in this thread: https://essayscam.org/forum/es/ukessays-industry-leading-guarantees-big-lots-bollox-1718/

-Update-

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a more open and less evasive email from David * representing EssayWriters.co.uk, who was responding to my email concerning my less than ideal outcome (essay FAIL grade) and subsequent response and attempts at claiming the 100% satisfaction guarantee "2:1 standard every time-or your money back" advertised on their website (see opening post).

In the email, David did apologize and explained what may have gone wrong, and how he as the company rep could and was prepared to offer in an attempt to put things right. I was surprised to learn that he had also tried to telephone me yesterday evening (Friday) to discuss my situation in person, though I was not able to take his calls at the time.

Subsequently, I have replied to David's email and again was surprised when I received a telephone call from him. I'm based in another time zone on a completely different continent and so his call had impressed me. A turn around for EssayWriters.co.uk customer service IMHO. (2 thumbs up)

David * of EssayWriter.co.uk was very apologetic over my experience and situation as I outlined in my initial post.

He took his time to explain what's likely to have occurred and gave me reassurances that how my particular situation was handled, was not the norm - nor was it appropriate. He has advised that a percentage of a refund will be forthcoming (to be processed shortly) and that I would be entitled to a percentage off on my future orders (I have more essays to be written). I was and am agreeable to this as a solution, and moving forward I want to develop a good business to customer relationship with a honest and fair provider. i.e. longer term repeat customer.

I was also reassured that while UKEssays.com and EssayWriters.co.uk have similar terms and conditions and offer not to dissimilar guarantees, they are in no way associated. Although it seems logical though that each company is likely to have some of the same writers (the world is only so big after all). It would appear that both companies are in fact competitors.

So moving forward at this time, EssayWriters.co.uk have managed to salvage the business to customer experience for me, and I will place my next essay order with them, and report back on my experience in due course.

What, five years later? Here's a clue that will stand the test of time: any company that tries to promise you a certain grade should cause you to run in the other direction.

2. the writer has been paid for work done on this order and we are unable to recover any of the fees paid to him.

Nothing can be further from the truth. Based on my experience as a company attached writer in the past, the company will actually take this complaint and begin refund proceedings against the writer. The company will pretend that a formal complaint was filed and the student demands a full refund. The company will then wait 2 weeks before telling the writer that the "investigation" has proven the student right. They will then dock the pay of the writer, the full cost of the order. The refund will then enter the company coffers. The student does not get the refund and the writer, loses his salary based on a real claim, but fake refund.

Do not be fooled by the glossy website that this company has. They charge in British Pounds for work that is done out of a 3rd world country. There is nothing in their blurbs that would prove their ability to accomplish the complex type of writing that the UK educational system requires. They are not using UK educated, or properly educated writers, for that matter. That is why nobody can expect their output to meet the grading standards of the country. It is important to hire a company or a writer that can prove a track record of writing complicated UK academic standard essays or research papers. As for evidence of these accomplishments. Make sure that they meet the UK standards and can actually deliver the grades that you require.
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.

Do not be fooled by the glossy website that this company has.

More often than not, the prettier the website is, the less likely you are to get high-quality work from them.

As always, any kind of money-back "guarantee" should always be considered a huge red flag. It's not that important what specific mechanism(s) they used to refuse to honor their guarantee, this time, but this case illustrates why you'll never win any kind of argument with any of these kinds of companies: First, they ask to see the "marker's feedback sheet" and then they refuse the refund because turning the work in for credit violates their TOS, while also saying that grading is too subjective to be guaranteed. Of course, it's totally true that grading is too subjective for any guarantee, (which is why no legitimate provider ever makes those sorts of guarantees in the first place), but if that's their position, why are they seemingly guaranteeing a specific minimum grade right on their website? Finally, they also "guarantee" free revisions until you're satifsied, but then they refuse to honor a refund request, saying that, according to their TOS, it doesn't apply to any work that they've revised pursuant to that free-revision guarantee.

You might think that simply means you should request your refund if the project needs revisions, instead of asking for those free revisions, but that won't work, either. There actually is a TOS tab at the bottom of their home page, and those TOS illustrate exactly why you can't trust anything about their 2:1-standard guarantee, or for that matter, anything else on their website about "refunds": According to Section 1.5 of their TOS "The customer acknowledges that no refunds will be provided once Essay Writer has allocated a writer to complete the custom essay and the payment has been made." So, none of that other nonsense about revisions or 2:1 marks or about turning in the work for credit even matters, because they're obviously never issuing any refunds for any essay they provide, for any reason, period. It's too late for this particular victim, but this is also exactly why you always need to read (and copy and save) the entire TOS and never just trust any of the other marketing BS on websites just designed to gain your confidence and trust with absolutely false promises and "satisfaction guarantees" that the company has absolutely no intention of ever honoring, regardless of the circumstances.
