Please no judgement because i deserve everything i get after being so naive and gullible, no excuses but after going through so much stress in my personal life i had a assignment deadline due that was looming and i didn't have the time to complete it so i reached out to a essay mill, never used one before so i wasn't sure what to look out for, anyway long story short i paid for a assignment and at face value the assignment looked absolutely great, i submitted it and it turned out to have been plagiarised and now i have a meeting with my tutor, please advise as i have no idea what to do even though i probably deserve to be kicked out because of this

So the scam service you used relied on AI to generate your essay and foolishly assumed that the AI detection tools now widely used by colleges and universities wouldn't catch it? What did your tutor have to say about it?

There's more to this which i don't really want to write on here but i urgently need to speak to someone who has more knowledge on this subject. I am based in the UK

Posters here have the most knowledge on how to deal with it, so feel free to ask questions.

Anybody with general questions or concerns about being blackmailed or threatened by any service provider should just use the search function on this forum. Search "blackmail" in "Topic Titles."

Anybody with blackmail-related questions or concerns specifically about any service provider actually threatening to contact your school (or claiming to have already done so, etc.) should use the same search function, but change the default from "Topic Titles" to "Messages," put my forum ID into the "Username" field, select "Exact Phrase" and search the phrase "your school" in my previous posts. If you do it correctly, you should see these 37 posts:

Yeah this is what happens with the cheap services. There's a reason they're cheap... they just use AI or outsource to non-English speaking countries like in Eastern Europe or India/Pakistan, who also use AI most of the time because they can't actually write proper English.

The best thing for you to do is to come clean with your adviser. He already knows you paid for the writing service. He already knows you tried to cheat and beat the system. Do not go into that meeting thinking that you can explain your way out of it. You have been caught. The only thing you can do now is ask for leniency and hope that they give you a slap on the wrist instead of a suspension or expulsion.
