Preferred Writer - why should I pay more?

Why do I have to pay more for a Preferred Writer on some websites? Some of them charge between 10% and 20% just for that!? Why don't they just notify the writer that there's a client who wants to work with them - and not charge extra for that (notification can be automatic). It's a ripoff. I don't have to pay my favorite barber 20% more just because I want him to do my hair.

If you find a freelance writer from essaychat or a similar location you can avoid these charges and ensure that you are truly working with your preferred writer every time.

I like the idea. Do you also agree it's a ripoff to pay 10-20% more for a preferred writer?

None of the sites I write for charge extra, but those that do may require preferred writers to accept all requests and pay them more for that. I don't get paid any extra for taking requests and I'd never work for any company that assigned me orders without my consent. If they did, I'd consider myself an employee instead of an independent contractor and I'd expect my full employee benefits, like any other employee whose employer exercised that much control over our assignments.

i don't understand the policy, but i can see why it'd bother you.

Any company has a right to charge extra for a "premium" level of product or service. Choosing the specific writer (or barber, or airline seat) you want could require a little more logistical effort on the firm's part, and it's reasonable to charge for it.

Why do I have to pay more for a Preferred Writer on some websites?

Those sites are almost entirely based in Ukraine. They are fraudulent.

If you find a freelance writer from essaychat or a similar location you can avoid these charges

You can also pay hard-earned money only to have a faceless, unaccountable, nothing-to-lose, Gmail-based "writer" disappear without providing any product.

My research revealed the same information, thank you.

Preferred WriterThese Ukrainian based companies charge more because they work on the premise that "you pay for quality".

If you find a writer that works well for your writing needs, you will want to hold on to that writer. Which is why the company charges the client more. From my experience though, the increased rate does not include an actual raise for the writer assigned. The writers do no have any idea that an increased rate is being charged because they are paid the same rate by the company.

The only benefit of being a preferred writer for the company is that the writer no longer has to bid on work orders. The automatic assignments come as a blessing to most of the writers because it offers them an increased income for that pay schedule, in addition to the regular bidding work that they do. Technically, you should not have to pay extra for the service and if I were you, I would not go with a "preferred" writer at the company. As a word of caution, I have to inform you that these companies may not even assign the paper to your preferred writer.

There were instances when I was told by my regular clients that the company said I was unavailable to work for them, which wasn't true, but they were encouraged to pay the "preferred" writer rates as the order would be assigned automatically, as soon as I became available. I never did get those assignments for some reason. Don't pay more, just pay regular rates.

It's better for your pocketbook and the writer you want will most likely see your order and bid on it anyway. In which case, they assign the paper to him / her just the same.

I've worked with companies where customers would request me as their preferred writer. Sometimes the projects come through and sometimes they don't. When they don't, I can only assume the customer changed his/her mind, though I know there is the possibility that the company simply assigned to another writer who offered a lower price. Such is the nature of business, I suppose. In private work, I typically price lower for repeat clients (i.e. reward customer loyalty).

As far a pricing for different levels of quality, I'm not a fan. Personally, I work hard to ensure all projects are the best possible quality at all times. The only time my writing would be a different "level" would be if the customer has requested "ESL" or asks me to "dumb it down". Still, sometimes "dumbing it down" takes more time than simply writing in my usual style. Nevertheless, if that's what the customer wants, that's what I work hard to provide. We all know that reputable companies-those with top professional academic writers-are going to cost more. You can and should expect the best quality from them as well-regardless of what "level" writing is selected. Unless there's something overly complex about the work (i.e. data, etc.) or it's a rush job, I would question any excessive cost or fee for a "better" quality. And if you aren't sure about the company or writer, ask to start with a couple of pages to see the quality before you invest in the full project, if your schedule will allow the extra time.

Some of us, here on this forum and elsewhere, have been arguing that exact point as the only real method of finding legitimate services. Sadly, very few listen and get scammed or receive awful papers as a result.

The answer to this question is really simple. Just like with any item that is in demand, the purchase price goes up. It's the law of supply and demand. When I have someone come in and request for a preferred writer, the first thing I do is check that writer's work calendar / workload. Then I consider the following:

1. How many papers have been assigned to this writer?
2. How far apart are the deadlines?
3. Are there preferred writer assignments already? If so, how many?
4. If there are only regularly assigned papers, how many of these work orders can I take off his plate to accommodate the requested writer order?

Of the 4 considerations, it is the last one that is of the utmost importance to me as the company owner. I will be reassigning papers to help this writer meet the demand for his services. I need to make sure that my percentage of the final payment will be worth my while, as well as the writers. Hence the additional 20 percent charge for preferred writers.

A preferred writer is someone who has created rapport with a particular client. A writer could be preferred because of a similarity in writing style with the student, or the ability of the writer to deliver the preferred grade of the student. It is the preferred grade expectation that I find increases the value of a writer in both the eyes of the student and the company owner. When a writer proves to be popular among the students for one reason or another, the company will place a particular value on that writer's time and skills. It is reflected in the cost per page of that writer. However, what the client doesn't know is that the writer doesn't actually get paid more when he becomes a preferred writer. The rate of his increase per page is so minimal that most would still consider it slave labor wages. Only the company makes money out of the preferred writer status. The writer himself doesn't get much benefit from the status.
