The "Psychological Portrait" of US/UK/Canadian Students as Seen by Ukrainian / Russian Writing Services

Here is a translation from a Russian post published by one of the biggest Russian "essay writing" affiliates. In 2018, 60% of "academic papers" are written by Russian or Ukrainian companies who hacked their way through high search engine rankings. It's a rough figure - the numbers may be even higher. They want the Western students to become like them. You won't find such posts written in English. They want to hide who they really are. I like the part about the "legendary WritersBeware".

----------------------------

In this post, we will discuss how to make money on student traffic from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and other English-speaking countries.

The Kinds of Services We Offer

The student papers affiliate program pays webmasters a revenue share for the sale of custom writing, homework, abstracts, essays, dissertations, and related academic services in English.

Who Is the Target Audience

Until recently, the majority of Russian-owned academic research services have been targeting US-based students; this category is called native English speakers. However, let's take a closer look at the psychological portrait of this group.

American, Canadian, and British people have been brought up to be law-abiding citizens who are concerned about the ethical / environmental side of every issue in sight. In result, non-profit funds, donations, eco-products, and all other manifestations of good dominate their societies. That's why, in this business niche, webmasters can encounter "Good Samaritans", that is people who are willing to spend their personal time, energy, and even money to illuminate the suspicious essence of the academic paper business niche.

A vivid example of this behavior are some members of the EssayScam.org forum, namely the legendary personality of WritersBeware, who traveled to the neighboring state to check whether an academic paper service's postal address matched the specified on the website address.

Many Western students have the same attitude. That means, you should expect them to be vocal about it, especially if the order is not what they expected. You need to also pay attention to the fact that blatant academic cheating or using someone else's content in universities of the US, Canada, and Great Britain may have serious consequences, that's why some students show caution.

Getting to the point, when working with a custom essay niche, your ultimate goal should be to emphasize to the student that the visited site is trustworthy and reliable. The following are some ideas that will allow you to achieve that:

- Place some trustworthy badges and images, like McAfee, VeriSign, TrustWave, DMCA, PayPal, etc. Webmasters should use graphic reviews and pictures because they can show the site's experience.

- If you are the lucky owner of an old / established domain, it's worth emphasizing this fact in the slogans. In general, writing services that are more than 3 years old may buy you confidence, but the older your service appears to be, the better.

- Try to emphasize on the main page that the site has the ability to refund money (Money-Back guarantee) and that it accepts PayPal payments because it significantly increases students confidence.

Another, smaller but more likely to use the research services are ESL (English Second Language) student groups. As a rule, these are emigrants / students who come to study to countries like the US, Canada or UK. They usually either speak very bad English and prefer to rely on third-party resources even if they only study. Many of them work while studying, so they don't have much time for their homework assignments.

The beauty of this ESL group is that they live, as a rule, in diasporas and - coming typically from a non-Western country - they do not hesitate to use our services and recommend them to their fellow students. And it may even happen that some of them also become our partners / affiliates and are profitable to us working as webmasters or resellers.

Whom Webmasters Should Not Work With:

Despite the fact that there are students who place orders from countries like India, such traffic is usually risky and worthless for the webmaster. Many Indian students are constantly looking for "good deals" and most of them are not even interested in ordering an academic paper. Some of those students want to become your partner, but they are not willing to do the hard job. We know there are plenty people in India and the majority of them are looking to receive money rather to spend it.

I am not sure about how to receive that information. Are they trying to develop a field in the business that relies on the con game to get clients? It seems that you are right about these people trying to change the mindset of the students from the US and related countries by trying to convince them that they should pay for essays and submit it for a grade rather than using the papers as it was originally intended for, as model papers. Funny how they mention WritersBeware and ES specifically in the report.

I guess that goes to show how effective the campaign launched at this site to pressure the scam companies into getting out of the market is working along with the program to help educate students about how to spot a con advertisement and how to find a reliable service. Students who have been warned, know what warning signs to look for because of ES. Therefore, the whole unordered bullet list that was created for the article is useless. ES participants have made sure that students know to look out for more than just those information before entrusting their money and their paperwork to any company.

This text was written by Russian agents who manage educational affiliate programs. It was directed to their current or potential business partners. Like a tutorial what to do and what works or not. They target British, US, Australian, and Canadian students.

American, Canadian, and British people have been brought up to be law-abiding citizens who are concerned about the ethical / environmental side of every issue in sight.

The most fascinating part might be the way they discuss this as though it's just some annoying and inexplicably-strange feature of our societies.

In a world where it seems that criminality is increasing and is even tolerated in the highest echelons of government, the way that the writer depicted the moral righteousness of the U.S. seems logical. Based on the academic standpoint that is. Considering that academic dishonesty only covers basic mistakes / calculated mistakes done by university students, the punishment of expulsion from the university or college seems very harsh indeed.

If one thinks about it, the student just "cheated" on his paper by having someone else write it, he "plagiarized" content based on software algorithms that cannot differentiate between so many factors that could prove non-plagiarism on the part of the student, he asked a writer to take "an exam" for him.All of these are negligible offenses in my book. Mostly because the student (a) didn't kill anybody (b) cheated only himself in the process, and (c) still had to do the classwork (by attending classes and participating in other class graded activities) in order to actually complete the grade requirements. So where is the actual harm in hiring an assistant to aid a student in these instances?

Maybe it's time the world-wide educational institutions consider an overhaul of their policies with regards to these concerns instead. Bringing the academic writing industry out of the dark and into the light can only bode well for both the students and industries alike.

With the educational system of the world currently in disarray, even the writing companies are not sure about how the industry will manage to ride out and survive this pandemic. The young people are normally being locked at home, attending alternative class methods. By quarantining our client base, the pandemic has effectively made it possible for students to actually write their own papers. Since they don't have anything better to do with their lock-down time. So maybe this psychological portrait has been rendered useless. Since the business model that the review was based on ended up being thrown out the window because of Covid-19.

Affiliate programs run by academic writing companies are a huge red flag. This type of business practice is frowned upon because it requires students to become recruiters for the writing company. All in the hopes of making a little cash on the side. Newsflash! They never pay up. They just use the unsuspecting students as agents for their writing companies. Some of these students even get recruited as writers later on. It is interesting to see that the foundation of this program came out of Old Europe. Steer clear of these sorts of writing companies. You will pay for it dearly in the end.

How do affiliate programs work between essay companies? When I wrote for one of the largest U.S. essay companies, I became aware that my project requests came from (at least) several different -- and, seemingly, totally independent -- competing companies, all with their own websites; but I didn't know whether they were "affiliates" or just the same company registering a long list of DBAs to dominate the market.

That was just your company using different umbrella sites. Note that the companies should not be known to each other, even though all the orders end up on the same server. A student affiliate has an ID number or account number that he shares with the student he is referring so that the student can get a discount and the referee, gets a small percentage of the full order.
The opinions are that of the author's alone based on an individual capacity. Opinions are provided "as is" and are not error-free.

Just to clarify, in case newer members might misunderstand, it wasn't "my" company; it was just the main company I wrote for before I went completely independent in 2013. My company, first established in 2009, has always been a sole proprietorship without any affiliates, umbrella sites of any kind, or other writers.
