Students from some countries trying to access Scholarship Grants

It seems some scam artists are starting to recognize that their English abilities have no chance of reaching native speaker level if they remain where they are. The best way they can improve is if they can continue studying and improving their linguistic abilities using scholarships for "masters degree courses" overseas that include "language learning classes" in English and another language. I've been dealing with a number of them lately and I really doubt that will get these scholarships because their application reasons are so transparent that it is easy to spot a scam scholarship application and kill their chances.

During my interviews with these people, they have admitted to being "ESL" independent academic writers and that the writing well has been drying up for them so they are finding ways and means to "improve" themselves by "receiving an international education" that will allow them to continue in their line of work. I tell them that is utter rubbish and they will just be polluting the academic pool of any country that might stupidly take a chance on their applications. I guess these sponsor countries will have to learn the hard way if they do grant these people scholarships... Note that similar suspicious behavior applies to other nations so the issue is not common only to them.

@Smiley73
What are the crimes? Trying to improve their language skills? Trying to get scholarships? I don't get why you have an issue with their actions.

Scholarship STudentSome individuals from Africa (and other continents) are seen mostly as problematic "refugees" trying to get out of their country. According to some sources, they are best known as drug traffickers, pirates, and other negative elements in society.

However, I disagree that they should not be allowed to access scholarship grants, provided that the Nigerian seeking the scholarship can prove to be a potential asset to the country that he will be studying in for a while. Everyone deserves the chance to better themselves financially. The best way to do that is to better educate oneself.

Some people are merely looking for a break in this world. They already know that they are better known as scam artists and con men in most other countries. So they should be given a chance to prove that not all of them are like that.

The best way to start over for these down on their luck people is by leaving their country and trying to make a go of their life overseas, even if only for a while as a sponsored student.

Of course, we cannot rely on stereotypes only because other sources picture a different story. We also need to remember that the "Western" societies have a lot of problems too and country location or nationality is a very subjective and unfair way of judging other people.
