I agree too, all I'm learning is to piece a puzzle together and make coherent paragraphs out of other people's words. When I say every sentence with a point, I mean the sentences that introduce a new point...if I go on to elaborate with examples or something then that doesn't need citations, but definitely the majority of sentences in my work has citations and I always get top marks for that bit because it satisfies my teachers. Is it maybe sociology/psych that is really full on about this? (especially psych). Maybe not so much other subjects? Is it an Australian uni thing?

Anyway, should I avoid choosing 'essay' and go for 'research paper' instead? Or stick with essay and give more detailed info about citation requirements? (and watch no one take it! ha)

I think it's an absurd request too, but if we leave one sentence not backed up by where we got it's point from, then we get in trouble. I guess my uni is full of unreasonable teachers.

I only ever have to write papers with a thousand references and zero personal opinion :( It's purely a jigsaw puzzle of slotting together re-phrased sentences from all the refs. It kills me, just kills me...so I've been trying to make it kill someone else who's at least getting paid ;)

Can someone advise me then about when I put in an order at an essay writing company? If I'm wanting pretty much each sentence to have a citation and also to have a paper that uses all the references, melded together, to answer the topic question (not just one reference for a whole paragraph), and say it needs to be about 2000 words long, approx 15 refs...should I be putting in an order for a 'research paper' instead of an 'essay'? We don't call them research papers in Australia so maybe that's where the confusion is coming in.

Also, you guys have mentioned a few times around here about not using too many refs but at my uni, for a 2000 words essay you will lose marks for not using at least 15 refs. I think it's insanity, but it's what they ask of us. I guess you guys can ask for more money to fulfill that request, but I wonder how many really want to take that on?

I think you took my reply all wrong. I was just letting you know of my experiences and why I dont think the industry is really good enough to be that big. I thought that was kinda what you were asking. I certainly wasn't calling YOU a dummy or insinuating you were looking to use an essay writing company.

I'm a bright student but my foray into the industry has shown me that the quality is pretty abysmal unless yeah, you're a dummy to begin with and couldn't critique what you received anyway. I don't think the industry will be taking over but serves the education system right if it ever did. The whole system is up the put.

Yeah i got that, I gave them all the references anyway. But apart from lack of citation, there are other problems anyway like complete rambling and missing the point of the topic. Such a bad experience, but I was just really curious as to why they wouldn't cite the info they were using in the text. Maybe it is indeed to do with standards and what the meaning of an essay is.

I'm too frightened to say who for fear my head will be cyber-ly chopped off. Don't know if you're allowed to even talk about it in PM's?? I accidently mentioned who I'd been dealing with in another thread before realising I was crossing a line. Anyway, one was undergrad but I specified 3rd year as there is quite a gap between what is expected in 1st and 3rd yr, as you know. The other was masters level. For both I chose 'excellent' as the writing standard I required. That's what I paid for, but what I have gotten so far has been woeful.

Oh didn't see your other question EGR...yep, I provided all the assessment criteria which includes "ability to support your argument with appropriate source material" and also "Correct citation format" and "Acknowledgement of sources".

Interesting, seems to grasp the English language! Did you get the samples? What were they like? Not that they couldn't just be fakes stolen from elsewhere though. Are you willing to part with 30 bucks? Set them a task to trial it out...then run it through Writecheck - see if it's plagiarised? It's really all you can do...

Let us know here if you do try them, I'm still really curious - it's a nice website!

i figured citation standards were - cite everything you take fom someone else. I did ask for in-text citations though. I just can't imagine not making reference to all the ideas you have taken from another. Never come across it in my 3 years at uni (studying psych/phil/soc), you'd be hung.

Ok writers. What's the deal with citations? I have received 4 pieces of work (essays) from what are technically legit sites (starting to have my doubts though as I continue to fight with them) and all 4 of them contain barely any citations. There are almost whole pages where nothing written has been cited. Or otherwise, a whole paragrah will be written with just one citation at the end like that's meant to account for the whole paragraph. That's not how you put together or use references in academic work. Each paragraph shouldn't be a summary of one page from a book/article.

These papers I bought are meant to be properly referenced esssays and without citations it's pure plagiarism as each sentence's idea did not come from the writers head therefore it should be noted exactly where it came from. How can I use them as model papers if I can't check the references and know what is written in them is true? How can I improve my academic work if what I am getting doesn't represent how to actually write academic work?

I just don't get it. In my many years of essay writing, almost every sentence has a citation at the end of it. This problem is driving me nuts.

hmmmm, just had a look around their website, looks pretty flash, couldn't spot any grammatical mistakes which is always a dead giveaway of a scammy site. I agree though, you look at the profiles of the writers, then look at their prices and it just doesn't sit well does it. I'd like to know if there are any sites out there that can truly write great model papers for you, but so far I haven't had any luck. Can't help but be curious about this one though, maybe put in a small order? Also, they have live support so maybe have a chat with them and check out their English skills ;)

I didn't investigate d652482's agenda/history when I joined here as I can't learn about and decipher ulterior motives of everyone before I reply to them. His "propaganda" to me was an observation which was completely accurate because I went and had a look and thought it pretty funny but weird. Seriously, calm the fu*- down.

WB. I've been signed up for 5 mins, yes, but have been reading the forum a bit longer than that. I really was always on your side in everything you've said on here (in my mind). But thinking just because I signed up a day after someone else and then post on the same thread (simply acknowledging what they've pointed out) means it's evidence we are the same person, well that's silly. I can't check when everyone has signed up just in case I appear to look like their second incarnation. You're so over the top with your 'propaganda campaign' talk. I don't know who that dissertations place is, never looked at it till it was pointed out. Don't care either as I don't need a dissertation written, nor do I write them.

I have now caught you out as being a bit of a dummy because I know the truth, as does d652482. Also don't you constantly whinge about proof! proof!? You've now just implied to everyone who reads this forum that d652482 is doing dodgy things and in turn that may ruin his reputation. Very naughty. And the fact that, sure what the article says is technically true about that writing website (it IS leading the way for post graduates to buy their work) the article is still a big fat smart arse remark about the industry. I have one experience so far with Reliable Essay Writers and it hasn't been a good one. The writer is seriously stupid and I've had to demand customer service find me a new one. No such luck yet. Meanwhile, over at custom thesis I've been through 3 writers so far and it boggles my mind how dreadful they are. I'm starting to think that if a company tells you it has writers who can do excellent, master's level work (that's what I put in the order boxes), but then you don't see any evidence of that from a sample of their writers...is that not a bit of a scam too? I mean, 4 writers so far and all pretty useless. It almost seems like they test the waters with their clients to see just how little effort they have to put in to satisfy you. The majority of clients, as I said in another thread, I think are ESL students, dummies and lazy rich kids. The first 2 don't know good from bad and the 3rd don't care, so usually they're all satisfied.

So far, I'm not having a good time with these companies which is really disappointing. Truly good writers must be rare.

Love This WebsiteI agree with all you say kittybread, this place has given me hours of entertainment over the last week since I discovered it.

I never knew this whole world of academic writing existed and I feel extremely educated about it now. In a moment of sheer fed-up-ness with writing yet another essay on marxism to pad out my arts degree (where I only care about my major which is psych and I've only 3 subjects to go!) I typed "buy essay" in google. Oh my!

This website helped me narrow in on the two pretty obvious legit sites and I have ordered a few jobs but jeepers, the quality is not great.

When I ask for excellent writing, i expect it. But, it's clear the majority of clients fall into 3 categories - ESL students, dummies and lazy rich kids, the first two not knowing what it is you give them and probably always impressed and the second too disinterested to give a s-i* as long as it scrapes in a pass.

I think my writers are probably annoyed that I'm pulling them up on their laziness, but the ones I've had so far (3 of them) ARE lazy!!

Takes a lazy to know a lazy ;)
