Hi Everyone,

Accepted WriterI have just decided to start writing freelance due to a disability and not being able to return to work.

I applied to essaywriters.net when I found this forum. I had to do a short grammatical test and writing test.

I was accepted this morning. I was really pleased, until I read this. Now I am really shirty!! Please, if someone can tell me WHICH websites are legit......I would REALLY appreciate it.

Thank you for pointing out the fraud of this company.

As a newbie, it probably would have taken me a while to work out that they were stalling me for payment.

Please point me in the right direction...... I'm sure there are other freelance writers who need help finding a legitimate employer that pays and doesn't cheat their workers.

Kindest Regards,

Michah

why don't you try some work for them before you believe everything you read here? do a few $20 papers and see if they pay (they will). EW won't start ******* you until later on down the line, and if you don't know it when it happens, you deserve to stay. at this point, sure, quit, by all means. but before then, you can probably make a couple hundred bucks, maybe even a couple thou.

What type of disability? Physical or situational? Human experience is so painful.

Why do you need to know? Are you a doctor?

Please point me in the right direction......

I'm sorry, mate! It's against the TOU to give out those sites we consider legit. Bummer, I know; but rules are rules. Here are a few tips, though...

1. Scan the forum. You'll find many posts which should be able to point you in the right direction. I know that it can be a lot of work, but consider it your "due diligence".

2. Don't trust the PMs you'll be getting. Some of those sending you messages could be scammers themselves.
3. Trust your instincts. If it smells foul, it's probably rotten. Read everything you see in the site you're applying with, and you'll find that "scam" sites have a particular way of advertising themselves.

I hope these tips helped.

Thanks Rustyironchains......

You have made a good and logical point......good exercise maybe?

Cheers,

Michah

Hi Fracturegang....

My disability( I use the term disbility in reference to an occupational term; inability to work) involves my Endocrine System......which is infinitely complex......as are most disabilities, I'm sure....

You sound like you know the painful side ......take good care. Thanks for your question. And I agree, the human experience at times can be extremely painful. Makes me a better writer though, on the plus side.

Thanks for your input.

Michah

Asianwriter,

Thank you for those tips! My apologies for not reading the forum rules......I was flustered at the time and wanted answers. I guess it involves intuition and layout, like you mentioned "smelling funny"(I think). Excellent. I have other options which I will try as well.

Thanks for taking the time to help me.....

Cheers,

Michah

Mad D*g!!!!

Prior to your being caught plagiarising, most here regarded you as a hilarious figure. Now I realise that you are just a shameless wannabe, with no sense of pride. If you really are a researcher, please research this topic: Self-Respect. Whilst doing so, please try to gain some.

Yes I plagiarize but I did it to test a self-f******r like you. I wanted to know whether you always brag or not.

In one sense you were right. That was not my writing. But the man whose writing that was and that you edited a haughty manner can f***** you throughout your whole life.

If I reveal his name before all, again you will prove that you are really a Self-F******.

Look....rustyironchains' advice makes sense, in a way; but after working for them for over a year (with most rates as low as 2 o 3 $/page) and a thousand other issues all I can say to myself is - what was I thinking?? I needed the money badly, who else is to pay for tuition fees and so many other things, but I could've done anything else and not work for this horrendous company. I think that somewhere down the line you are going to be sorry for all the stress, time and effort you put in this job. Look for other companies, I'm telling you there are some which are far, far better and where you may actually be treated humanely. I'm speaking from experience, there is a tremendous difference between them and most others (can't speak for all, but I've tried a few and there's simply no comparison - it can't get any worse than essaywriters). And don't get elated for being chosen, I think they accept anyone who can speak English - the problem with them is that everything is automatic on their site - no genuine selections, no HR and, as a matter of fact, very little human involvement all together. The word "mill" has been used many times in relation to them - and it's oh so true. Now I got paid, especially in the beginning, but the fees they apply for anything are huge and the payments were ALWAYS late. By contrast, I work now for one company who pays almost immediately after you have sent the work. Essaywriters can be tempting, esp. since they give you access to any order on their site and you don't depend on the staff to assign work to you- but my advice is to think this over and try some other places also. You may be able to make some money with them, but you'll see it's not really worth it. Trust me there are companies who pay 5 times what they pay, have a great staff ect - in a word it's heaven compared to essaywriters.

I love these guys' "English":

"20 Oct 2009
Dear Writers,

In order to prevent misunderstandings we have provided changes into our previous news. Please review."

What in the world does the phrase "provided changes into our previous news" mean??
Poor Noam Chomsky would really have a hard time explaining this one with the aid of generative linguistics.

Also, have you noticed that all their announcements speak about new fines?

Please take into consideration that it is obligatory for all writers. Consistent reporting will be a good investment into your promotion and lead to compensation increase, while ignorance of reporting will lead to immediate fines(5% from order total and will increase if ignorance recurs). Please mind that providing false information on progress will lead to even bigger fines(starting 10% from order total and up).

Best regards,
Writers Dept.

Look through their site a bit: do you you like their English? the tone of their announcements (always threatening)? their "terms and agreement" (even more threatening)? Check their replies to you - you'll get so many automated, standard replies that you'll feel as if you were speaking to a robot. Good communication among all the parties involved is essential in this business: you won't get that here; they don't care about you, your work, your efforts and your needs, your time, your money and all that. It is simply not a healthy work environment. All they need is to use you like they use all their writers, there's no serious cooperation beyond that. Oh and btw, they will call you a thousand times when the deadline of an order is approaching - and for many other reasons as well. It really does not matter if it is 4 am or something like that. I'd say think it over really well and try other options before working for them.

What writing did Fracture plagiarize?

Remember when you called him out? :)

Yes I plagiarize but I did it to test a self-f like you.

That really makes no sense at all. You plagiarise but it is our fault? How? Come on, Salazar, you know you regularly plagiarise :) Care to tell us about your `happy' masterpapers.com customers :)

In one sense you were right. That was not my writing.

The man whose writing Pheelyks corrected should not be writing at all. Is he your boyfriend?

If I reveal his name before all, again you will prove that you are really a Self-F.

The revelation of his name will prove that I am into `pleasuring' myself? Makes sense :)

Salazar, may I ask you a few personal questions?

1) Average hour: how many times do you get called an idiot?
2) Average day: how many times do you get punched in the face?
3) What's your IQ?
4) How many times have you been locked up in the looney bin? Average length of stay per time?
5) At exactly what age did you lose your self-respect or did you never have any?
6) Whose your role model? Dumb or Dumber?

Paul Thomas shouldn't be writing professionally or academically, either.

He is my teacher. He runs an ELT center in my country.
pheelyks
Oct 21, 2009 | #18
He shouldn't be teaching English in any country, and this explains a lot about why you're in the position you are.

By the way, there are many common programs in the US that send people abroad to teach English in foreign (usually third world) countries. All you have to have is a high school diploma--and these are not hard to get.

Do you have any friend in your country? You behavior is so disgusting that I think you wife or your fiance (if you have any) has already left you. Also I think whether you have anymore teeth left. It is very possible that she has taken all of your teeth.

Where to begin.....

Yes, I have friends. Please stop trying to hurt my feelings, you brute.

I also have my teeth; my girlfriend keeps them in a jar under her pillow--which is next to mine on our bed.

What does this have to do with the fact that your teacher can't write in decent English?

Dear Writers!

We would like to inform you about the new feature available in the system- SMS notification.
SMS feature is available as an option at the bottom of writer's profile along with the e-mail one.Writers that chose the feature subscribe for all the kinds of notifications sent by the company (notification about revision request, preferred writer for the order, lateness with submission etc.) In case a writer refuses from sms feature he/she still receives a notification if they are late with the product/product revision.

We hope the new service will be helpful to you.

Thank you for cooperation,
Writers' Dept.

"Each writer's performance is checked by QAD at the end of the month and those, who are qualified for the promotion, will be informed about that via our messaging system.

Good luck with your work!

Best regards,
Quality Assurance Department

It just makes my day every time I read something written on their site. How can these people control the quality of the papers they deliver to their customers if their English looks like a different language altogether? How can you "refuse from sms feature"? "product/product"?? "all the kinds of notifications"? And their punctuation...

It has been 3 weeks since we stopped putting late orders on "Hold". After careful analysis of writers' performance during the last 3 weeks we have discovered that tendency for lateness has grown. In this respect we have decided to leave fines for late delivery "Order deadline over", "Revision Deadline Over" even if client does not complain on lateness.

I disagree. It's the English language itself that they don't like. Quite evident from the vicious and bloody battle they've waged against it.

These companies try to get your confidence by not fining you for the first quarter of your work with them. Once the penalties start, you should learn how to work around it. Try to discover what the common penalties are, then figure out howto avoid it. Here is a tip: learn to write the papers in the proper format. That is usually the first penalty shot these companies fine. Once you figure out the formatting requirements, you will atleast avoid the basic penalty cause . When a company accepts you as a writer, that means you have a writing style that is useful to them. It does not say much about you as a writer beyond that. It is when you start working on complicated papers that you should begin to worry.

What does it say about your writing ? It says that you all qualified enough to probably squeak by when writing simple high school level papers. It does not reflect an ability to develop a far more complex paper. You have been given an entry level chance.to prove your worth in this business. It would do you well to use the opportunity to become worthy of the title "academic writer". Learn about the trade you have entered into. Develop proper writing skills. Enhance your English vocabulary.Learn to write advanced academic papers. Don't just produce something. Produce the paper the client expects. Prove that the company was right to hire you.
