Please let me know, whether I should join pencamp.com. I have cleared their interview.
Also, I have received offers from uvocorp.com and freelancewritingcenter.com
and allwriting.net
Should I work for these companies?
If no, then for which companies should I work.
Is there any experienced writer in our circle who can rightly guide?
Thank you and best wishes.

Dear Ekta,
We are all in the same boat here looking for contract Jobs now that the busy season has kicked in.Writing companies are mushrooming left, right and centre.I feel that UvoCorp and freelancewritingcenter have a slightly twisted agreement where they say they will put some of your payment on hold every month and several other things which I , as a lawyer and an experienced freelancer found disturbing.Go ahead and give it a try.
Not sure about Pencamp yet....let me try that one this week....Also UVOCORP asks for like 275 words a page....They seem like an OK company but then again one can never be sure.I also noticed that academicexperts.us and Uvocorp are sister companies...Just do your paperwork and the necessary reading before you get into anything of this kind.I wasn't too happy to read that freelancewriting center is not based in the UK or US but in Hong Kong so in the event of a legal action the writer's rights will not be protected by UK/US employment law.
Why don't you ask writersbeware. She can definitely help you out here and is a senior contributing member of this community.
Some independent research never hurts before you start off.
Your time and effort is precious. Try to do a little amount of work but try to do something that is worth your while and your talent.
WritersBeware
Mak, if a company claims to be in the United States, and you discover proof to the contrary, that is your cue to run in the opposite direction.
Precisely WritersBeware...I agree with you a 100%.The Ukarianian site owners are definitely shady and sometimes the money they offer per project is below minimum wage.During the early days of my freelancing career when I was totally broke I once wrote an essay for this Russian guy whose name I don't want to mention and he cleverly demanded that there should be 300-350 words per page to "fill up the pages".I bet he charged the customer @ 250 words per page. Can you believe this? I mean they do not care if you are human at all and that you have spent a precious amount of time and energy working on a piece of work.Plus I have been reading and re-reading the policies of these new freelancing companies on the block and most of them have a clause that states that they may fine you even if you are 20 minutes late and that they will fine you for this or that ....and the list goes on ....I wonder what is left to in the name of earnings at he end of the month for the hardworking freelancer. So people do not trust these shady companies registered in Hong Kong or anywhere else.Protect your rights and help the industry by not letting these people thrive on minimum wage slave labour. These companies actually sell your work to other people for 5 times the original price and also resell this work to paper mills. If you really want to sell your copyrights make it worth your effort. It is understandable that Asian countries have a constantly depreciating exchange rate and even 4 dollars a page sounds nice to a person there looking to make some extra income. The truth is that these owners are neither ethical nor law abiding business people. They even have fake addresses. So tomorrow if they decide they would like to close down their business concern and run off with your money where will you go? One only has to look at the strict laws in Britain post the Companies Act 2006 and similar ones in the US to see that when a company actually goes through the trouble of paying tax and setting up a real office in line with the law ,it is actually serious in conducting business.Outsourcing is good for developing countries but it is time the scum of the industry which exploits and defrauds independent freelance writer no matter which part of the world they are from are stopped.
Furthermore I urge all freelance writers who have been abused and exploited by these people to come out and discuss their experiences in order to save other potential victims..
Cheers

Thank you very much for all your guidance.
Can I work for this site: freelancing-here.com
I have got the opportunity to work for them. Should I start accepting orders?
Please guide...
Thank you and best wishes
Well I hope WB will help us here again but i'll go have a look now and get back to you.Have you checked it's credentials yourself according to the guidance given by writersbeware?
Ok I had a look.I noticed that there is no phone number on their site .
However they have given a US address. The form is a direct copy of the Academia Research/Masterpapers contract form. They don't give you payment options but you have to write one of your own.I really don't know what to say but try doing a little work and see how they respond in terms of payment etc.I am a bit cynical of these writer mills.Whatever you do,don't sell your talent for peanuts.See if they are offering good rates of work first.
Looking forward to your review and lets hope WB helps you out here.

Please provide me your complete guidance: freelancing-here.com
I am a bit confused.
Does it mean they are not reliable?
The website of the company has been registered in Florida.
What do you mean by Shady?
Thank you and best wishes.
Shady=fraud + (God help you if you are employed by any of these frauds)
Save your time now and if you really are proficient in english and a native english speaker try applying to *********/Papers4you/or even deveroux and deloitte....these companies have been there for a long time and will not defraud you....at least from my personal experience that is.
These new paper mills are just there to take advantage of writers in developing countries. They cannot even be physically located if they run off with your company~think about it.
Take care and stay safe- I have applied to like 10 companies this season. As soon as I can see an outcome there I will let you know. But sadly 3-4 of these companies that accepted me turned out to be total frauds. So I did the wise thing and did not proceed with any more work.
I have been looking all the comments by WB and MAK...
Well really I have different opinions all around...
There are fraud companies around here, I have got no doubts about that...
When I came into this forum, I was working with writers.ph... It was the start as I never did a single order then... By visiting this forum I found out that writers.ph is a fraud... Well I kept on working with them... With addition of some other websites as well to see for myself if they really pay...!!!
But I have to be honest with every person over here that if you want to get any guidance from WB or any one else who thinks that he is the senior... You might be making big mistake as they will just say to stay away from these companies...
And at the end of the day you will see this technical writing a total fraud and might never come back to visit this forum... That is what I have gained from my short experience over here...
I was paid by writers.ph... and by all the other sites too... Though they were small amounts but they were paid...
I am not giving assurity about writers.ph or any other websites as they might not pay me next time !!! but for the time they have paid me... So go on with yourself with the search... Just listen to the people and do what is right for you...
WritersBeware
Whitegrim, I have provided EVIDENCE time and time again. You are wrong--period.
Precedent and testimony from countless victims speak much louder than your meager "experience."
@whitegrim
If you are happy being paid peanuts for your efforts with considerable delays then we wish you all the best.
It is obvious these companies are fraudulent and I agree with WB-
Also looking at the level of your english language/grammar I can judge that you must be their "premium" writer which explains the reason they are frauds.
Good day and hope you get paid for your cheap publicity stint.
Dear frnd,

One more time, the legitimate companies in this industry won't hire you until your English improves. Stop asking.
please tell the true free lancing websites , those are not doing scam, and paying payments on time,
i dont want to spend my time on peanuts.
Why don't you ask writersbeware. She can definitely help you out here and is a senior contributing member of this community.
Not any more she isn't. The last I heard she was running a crooked bingo game in Dickson City, Pennsylvania.
please tell the true free lancing websites , i dont want to spend my time on peanuts.
I only know of two from the time I was working in this business: custompapers.com and manuscriptservices.uk. Those were the two honest ones in my experience.
paying payments on time,
and
i dont want to spend my time on peanuts
Just find the right trade man because writing is definitely not for you.

I think some of the renowned freelancing sites are quite reliable sources. However, they are significantly competitive and the often the ppp is disturbingly low. :(
Best to find your own clients. You'll make twice as much per page, at least.
Elance.com
Freelance.com
Freelancer.com
can you please guide me that whether these three sites are geniun or not.......

Elance.com is one of the best sites for the freelancers. The other one you might want to try out is Freelancer.com. Don't know about Freelance.com though.

I'd suggest that be careful with these companies (specially when it comes to fund transfer) as I have come across quite a few stories of people bragging about being scammed by them. If you do not believe me, you might want to do some basic research on Google.
Since independent writing is slowly being taken out of the hands of the academic outsourcing companies and being placed in the care of real "freelancing" websites, I would strongly urge any aspiring academic writer to shy away from applying at the companies and instead, try their luck bidding for their first job at the bidding sites. You can price your bid based upon your actual writing talent and paper requirements. This is something that you cannot do when working for an academic outsourcing company. When you work for a company, you have to take the offer, whether the pay is worth it or not because you want that income to reflect in your upcoming paycheck. As a true freelancer who is reliant on a non-middleman bidding process, you will have the opportunity to earn more and actually keep the money you earn because there is no pretend QAD around trying to fleece you of your earnings that came from your hard work. Try not to work for academic writing companies and instead, work for yourself. That is the best way to get a fair deal in this business.
I will disagree at this point based on the fact that not all freelance writers are lucky enough to immediately make money upon starting out on their own. The new freelance writers will definitely have a rough time gaining a client base since they do not have any proof of work to show nor recommendations to rely on to instill confidence in a client.
The new writers who are still learning the ropes in the biz will do well to work for a company first. This will allow them to gain valuable work experience, learn how the business works from the inside, and recognize the pitfalls of certain business dealings. Once they have gained enough writing experience and, they have somehow managed to create a regular client base of their own, then they can slowly disengage from the company and begin carving out their own niche in the business.
In my experience, establishing a client base is simply a matter of providing good enough work that all (or almost all) of your clients become long-term repeat customers. Certainly, they do sometimes refer their friends; but it seems to me that much more often, once they find a reliable writer, they really don't want to share their "secret" and prefer to keep you for themselves.* Slowly but surely, as each client you get becomes a regular customer, you'll have a customer base that grows with every new client you get who continues to use your services over the long term. Eventually, you just have to replace graduating clients with new ones at roughly the same rate that they complete their studies, while also adding new clients, maybe slowly, but steadily.
[The reason this* seems somewhat apparent to me is that I've definitely noticed that direct referrals often start coming in to me from clients only after their graduation rather than during the whole time that clients typically use me, which is usually several years. There isn't really any other way to explain this phenomenon, because (presumably) most clients have friends who could benefit from the same service simultaneously and because one would imagine that if clients like my work enough to use me for 10 or 20 or more of their own projects, they'd like my work enough to recommend me to their friends much sooner than they typically do, when they do. Conversely, if they didn't like my work enough to recommend me to their friends, they probably wouldn't continue using me, themselves, for years; nor would they suddenly start referring their friends to me right around the time that they graduate.]
Do not work for UVO. They are one of the worst offenders in the business. They take forever to pay their writers, always paying off backdates, and they always find an excuse to fine their writers. The company is often spoken of in hateful terms by their writers who never last longer than a few months. Oftentimes, the writer just waits for his back wages and then leaves the company, without even delivering a resignation letter.
Social media, linkedIn, Upwork, and other various independent social media channels have made it much easier for writers to pursue and accept clients on an independent basis. I would not suggest working for companies as a contacted writer these because (1) their HR department is not accepting applicants at the moment and (2) the price they offer the writers is not even going to pay your rent on a monthly basis. Try to develop a client base of your own using self promotion instead. That might give you a better income in the long run.

In late 2025, I doubt that many people are still actually planning on becoming professional ghostwriters, for obvious reasons.
