To all Kenyan writers, it is the high time you said NO to intimidation. I am not a writer but I do feel pity for writers who find no space in the writing industry despite their wish to. I am your fellow Kenyan who feels that some guys squeeze you to the corners of intimidation. Please stand your ground.

Note: I manage many writing sites and 80% of the writers on those sites are Kenyans. Why? Because most of those Kenyan writers who have chosen writing as their career do write quite well, and because you live in a country whose life is not expensive (meaning you can accept few bucks per page). This is the report I was analyzing today from most of the sites that I manage.

Kenya Research IndustryNote: Kenyans really have a great strength that they have failed to utilize over years. The major weakness is that Kenyans do not want to spend and hire a programmer to code a site for you to receive writing orders directly from clients. Even if you try doing this, you fail to hire an SEO expert to make your sites rank on top positions on Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. In addition, those who have tried doing these, do not want to be honest. When you start your writing site, you need to tell clients that you are a Kenyan and surprise the client with excellent work at a lower cost than an American. This will allow you get orders from many countries like Australia, Philippines, India, Pakistan, UAE.

Point to note: Over 80% of orders come from ESL countries and the clients have worse English than that of Kenyans. Therefore, being honest will deny you only 20% of the orders. Do you understand how being genuine can earn you great income.

Note: Those orders from America and UK are usually ordered by immigrants who just want to meet the requirements of their EFL professors. Therefore, your English level is still adequate because the professors will not expect too much from an ESL student. You just need to be better than the student, which most Kenyans are.

Note once more: Why I exist in this forum is because I am programmer and SEO expert who manages most writing sites that are run by people in Ukraine, USA, Kenya, India, China, Russia, and UK.

All I can advise Kenyan writers is to own their sites and be honest to their clients. You will be surprised when you charge around $7-20/page and receive the money immediately to your bank without waiting for a week or two to be paid by a third party.

Get serious Kenyans. Stop wasting your ability writing for sites that scam you and delay your payments (you should have known that the site-owner receives money even before the order is taken by a writer).

Own a website and receive even if it is 2 orders per day that are directly paid to you. Specialize on what you write on and you will never have problems in this industry.

Thanks for reading.

THAT is the only reason for this blatant advertising in "disguise." This guy doesn't give a damn about Kenyans. He just wants their money.

Mod, please put this advertising garbage where it belongs: in the trash.

Unfortunately I am not advertising myself because I have more work than I need. My sole reason is to ensure that my fellow Kenyans are not intimidated when they can do great things. If you deny this fact, let me know.

I am extremely surprised at you, Chinedu. While your posts are far and few between, they were, generally, informative. You were the first to direct us to the CNN video, for example. This post, however, is completely inappropriate. Whomever he is going out with is none of our business. Whether Kenyan or Armenian, whether ESL or Native, is none of our damn business. This is out of line, Chinedu, and you have, in the past, proven yourself much better than that.

Believe me, Kenyans think way too highly of themselves when it comes to their writing skills. Just because they were a former British colony, making them slaves of the Britons and nothing more, they think that their backward education and the UK connection make them the envy of the African part of the world. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are far from winning a leadership place in any industry, that includes the writing industry. Their simplistic education makes them dream big, without anything to back it up. Kenyan writers are normally barely out of grade school writers who can barely spell. If that is what qualifies them to world academic writing domination, then we are all doomed to an internationally failed education system, with the Kenyans at the helm.

I think Kenyans have moved on from their academic writing scams. The industry has tried to create a semblance of legality and professionalism in its trade by asking writer applicants to qualify themselves with valid documentation. They also require transcripts of grades already and proof of college graduation, at the very least. These are documents that Kenyans do not easily come by anymore and not everyone is willing to sell their writer profile anymore to a Kenyan scammer since it is quite difficult to get into the academic writing companies these days. It is almost like applying for a regular job at a company. The process is quite fierce and cut throat. Kenyans would find it difficult to qualify already.

I still get regular unsolicited emails from Kenyans asking about working "for" or "with" me. When I used to respond by politely thanking them for their interest but informing them that I work alone, that I'm not an employer, and that I'm not looking for any help, but wishing them the best of luck, that would invariably lead to follow-up emails from them sending me resumes and writing samples and begging me to just give them a chance to work for me. That's why I no longer even bother responding; instead, I just hit the spam button to delete and block any future emails from them.
